great tune! nicely played. Ive been playing a year now and get frustrated at my slow progress, especially drop thumbing. Hopefully after 3 years i'll be as quick and smooth as this...you give me hope. Cheers
Thanks! I don't do much drop thumb myself. Most of the time, you can get the same effect a lot easier with a phantom hammer-on or some other technique.
I've been playing for about 3 years. The first year or so I spent trying to learn 3-finger picking, which was frustrating and never went anywhere. Then I learned about clawhammer playing about a year and a half ago and never looked back.
Its easier than it sounds. Some musicians do something hard and make it look easy; Banjo players do something easy and make it sound hard. At least that's what I do!

Thanks! Speaking of the farm, my first calf was born this morning. Her and her mother are both healthy. I'll have a video of it soon.

Thanks for sharing.
Makes me want to find a real snare drum to play along. It has to have cat gut snares, calf hide skins and a deep shell. Gotta go carve me some sticks.
Total fun
Thanks again.
Had to listen twice (rare for me).

That's a very good description of banjo picking, I never really thought of it like that.
