If you saw unedited transcripts and video of what she said about the troops and God and how it was edited you will understand why people are flocking to Sarah. It's a sense of fair play. It's also a good idea for (especially Republican) candidates to set up their own video equipment to tape interviews so ABC can't change the sense through editing.

Palin was actually more correct on what the Bush_Doctrine is when she said it was about protection from terrorists, especially the document he refers to specifies pre-emptive strikes would only target "rogue nations" that target civilians and non-combatants - not "any nation" as Charlie put it. If you saw unedited transcripts and video of what she said about the troops and God and how it was edited you will understand why people are flocking to Sarah. It's a sense of fair play. It's also a good idea for (especially Republican) candidates to set up their own video equipment to tape interviews so ABC can't change the sense through editing.

They got the coolest and wisest female president Tarja Halonen. We need her type in White House. Why dont we have that caliber of people in the US? Well plutonangirl, For starters, here in the US we automatically disqualify our most intelligent and honest people by requiring a religious litmus test for high office.
Our leading intellectuals are almost all non-believers. Non-believers cannot get elected to high office in the US. Therefore,in the US, our elected leaders are all either idiots or liars.
We deserve what we get.

Yes, that motto was established late in the Civil War to my knowledge. I've studied ACW possibly more than anyone else here, esp. the campaigns and battles :)
Could it be that ACW still lingers in Am minds because it was so problematic an issue and was resolved so decisively? I'm just thinking that maybe if the ACW gets simplified in schools, treated mainly as a good-evil controversy, this at the outset blocks the receiving subject from questioning the fundamental existence of Good and Evil.

honestly, it shouldnt but I dont live in midwest or in the middle america where people are still clogged in ACW mode. ACW is relatively brushed off in schools. i think it is taught too simplistically. i remember it was brushed through without much explanation nor analysis unlike what you learned about Finnish civil/foreign invasion by German/Russian armies. Most kids know generals by names. Here in the US hmm good luck if they can remember 1. history is taken much more seriously than in the US.
