@RustyNex I see, that's too bad. Did you know, though, that there's a way to rip the sound from the video? Then you can let loose a noise reduction filter on it (using a noise profile) so the peep sound is removed, and then you can merge it back into the video.
I guess that takes a bit too much effort for a quick and dirty video though. :P
hey man is there any tutorial for the midi port i cant find anything online already have my DMG expanded with pro sound and bitch control as well as back light
@ToastyW33N it was a pain in the ass! it is made by wiring a load of tiny SMD UV LEDs to some strip board. problem is that the strip board is too big so i had to cut each stripe in half, which is what was so painful! then i wires them in 4 parallel groups, so they could be individually controlled. it was more work than its worth. the UV LEDs were taking a huge amount of power to work, so i put a hefty resistor on them so the backlight would work properly, and now they don't really look great
@ToastyW33N lol well yea it does in the video, but notice the screen is pretty much black? made the gameboy almost unusable, so i had to divert more power to the backlight, making the heart very weak, so it doesn't look so nice now. i might do a bit more work on it at some point, but its kinda obsolete now.
i am glad i inspire you! thats exactly why i do this stuff, to get people inspired, i may not have the best ideas but if they lead to good ideas via other people then all is good! email repl
@phatmoose94 its not a simple job, but i sell a kit that could be used to midi enable a gameboy, and it comes with some basic instructions. or i can just make one?
thanks, this one uses the Arduino Nano version 3.0, but recently i have been using the Pro Mini 5v which is a lot easier to fit, but makes it harder to update
Okey! I just asked because I want to build an Arduinoboy (not inside my DMG-01) and everyone seems to be using different arduinoboards and I'm getting confused which one to choose since I have no prior experience of Arduino, but from what I can understand so far it seems like it doesn't really matter which board. So you live in i sweden? Any tips on good shops for buying the parts for Arduinoboy?
thats the same reason that put me off making them in the begining, but yea any arduino will do as long as its 5v (so not the pro mini 3.3v) and best to get the fastest one, which is most of them anyway. i would recommend the arduino Nano, from ebay, the Pro mini is a little bit more complicated, but you get that from Sparkfun, both ship to sweden, yep i live in sweden, but i don't know any shops in sweden, everything i get comes from ebay :)
@RustyNex naah, i donno rly. I like stockholm cuz i find more kinds of people here, that have their own style. Im in gothenburg quite often and i fell that theyre not as acceptable of different people. Buuut thats just me:P
@Zkrudriverz interesting, i don't know because i haven't been to stockholm, but when i came to Gothenburg it was so nice to see how accepting people were, of different people. in England, if you look different or act different then your life will become hell. but maybe its even better in stockholm, i will have to visit it some day.
well, not to be insulting but if someone doesn't know how to make it already, they shouldn't be trying. this took a lot of trial and error, a lot of hard work both in hardware and software, so making a guide will be complex. but i am more than happy to build similar things for people.
i am not sure, that is why i plan to make one first and sell it on ebay and see what people pay for it, but you can message me if you would like a custom gameboy
Nice ... I want one

The high pitch sound makes the videos of yours iv tried to watch unwatchable with sound.
People with desktop speakers will probably not be bothered by the sound.
