I find it strange that 10 times as many people watched this first part of the interview as have watched the following sections. Why would this be? Was the first part too boring to interest people in parts 2, 3 etc. ? Surely not.
This is a fantastic interview. It's funny. Usually artists when they're younger sound more pretentious when they speak about their work or about whatever. In this interview, he sounds relaxed and like a nice guy. Whereas interviews he's done in the last 10 years, DS really comes off like a humorless, self-important snob. Go figure.
Humorlessness is a liability only when one is unable to laugh at themselves.
I suspect that the more people's views of "David Sylvian" that one solicits the less one is able to make such polemical statements about him (selfless v. self-important and so on). I can't imagine higher praise for any artist that having this slipperiness, which is the constantly changing world around us. I notice in myself emotional reactions to DS parallel his most recent release - w/Manafon his negatives are up.

@heyswampy I wouldn't say snob, but more focused perhaps.

This was from a 12" vinyl lp promo made by a Swedish interviwer. I have about 8 copies if anyone is interested. In great condition and numbered.

It's brilliant, and 1987-88 his biorhythms were off the charts!
