To the dip that wrote this song was Led Zep influenced, you are influenced. Joe Walsh puts Page to shame and this song sounds nothing like LZ because noone sounds like they are having an orgasm in the backgroun and Joe isn't screaming over the guitar work. Other than that you are right it is just like "Led Zep" you twit.
Side one of "James Gang Live In Concert," for all of us who remember what that means, was and REMAINS, one of my favorite sides. An incredible 20 minutes of talent on display. Live. Total control.
Ahhh The James Gang, Wish I could be 18 again driving my Mustang Mach 2... Joe Walsh is a Guitar God.. In my opinion Joe has the deep Blues feeling in each note on that Les Paul. Clapton, Beck just dont have the same feel. Albeit, they are also great for what they do. But for Blues, Joe has it.. Its deep... In this song, he really shows how to make a Les Paul sing and Cry.. WOW....
The absolute best three man band to come out of the US EVER! He is the most underated guitarest of all time. I saw them when I was 10, then I saw him play with Ringo in Hiroshima Japan, then I took my wife to see The Gang in 2006. It was the best time of my life. And she agrees. I don't care what anyone thinks, he's the best, and that is a period!!!
i'll never forget 1st day 7th grade got tape of j.g from bro n law jammed funk 49 on bus the bus driver was only one who had a clue what it was jammed on bus that whole year JOE IS THE MAN
This album is proof positive that they belong at the front of any discussion about the great power trios of all time. yousaiditzero called Joe underrated...scottalias said, "By who?" I say, I rarely hear his name mentioned in discussions about the greatest guitarists...but it should be, and this album proves it!
Joe Walsh is and will always be the bomb. I have been in love with this man since the early 70's. He is an amazing guitarist and songwriter and I happen to love his voice--I could listen to him all day. Today and tomorrow and the next day. I love you, Joe!!!
As someone said earlier, How Ya Doin,Joe is so cool even today-this music is great. I grew up in the early 70.'s with these great bands. Miss this kind of rock, and don't care for much of todays bands.
back in time without leaving my chair......those were MOST incredible days of mine or anyone else's life! to be 17 again and hearing all the greats of the 60s/early 70s would be a gift from the Universe
I used to get into "water fights" with Joe and the drummer of the James Gang the Mentor Hullabaloo in Mentor Ohio back when i was a longhaired high school kid and the JG were just an unknown local band. The "stage" was just a couple plywood sheets raised about 6 inches off the floor. I used to stand right in front of Joe and watch him play. I remember when I first saw him play through an Echoplex (early tape delay loop machine using real mag tape ... like reel to reel stuff) BLEW MY MIND
Yeah! The James Gang LP's with Joe are great! Love this tune and Joe's soloing! I also love the next 4 versions of the James Gang, 2 LP's with Tommy Bolin, 2 with Domenic Troiano (They're both dead, Joe's still alive, go figure) and the next 2 LP's, Newborn and Jesse comes home. The constant being Jim Fox's superb drumming and Dale Peters cool bass playing.
While serving in the Marine Corps back in 1989, I met Joe backstage at Ringo Starr's first All Star tour in Hiroshima Japan. The nicest guy you would like to meet. He has never recieved the respect he deserves as a musician/writer. He gets into so many different styles, all good. He is a Rock God! How ya doin?
Wow Im glad that I am not the only one that thinks that this is the best, most tastful, soulful, sweet ass guitar playing on the planet. My favorite guitar player of all time. 71 may have been the Gang at their peak. Love ya Joe. Or as Joe would say...How ya doin?
I saw James Gang in 1971 for our senior trip to Oklahoma City. I've purchased everything Joe Walsh has issued since. I saw him again in 1976, 1990 and with the Eagles in 2002. This is a superb example of why Joe is still at the top of the mountain......
One of Joe's best solo's - I played this today as it's drummer Jim Fox's 61st Birthday today 8-24-08! I burned it to CD from my LP.
FYI - Joe played on this and the 1st 3 studio LP's. Then went solo, so bassist Dale peters and Fox continued on for 6 more LP's with other guitarists.
Oh yeah Joe I need ya, I'm 40 and you are in the age gallery I like, call me baby anytime. You are so cool, no one can be as cool as you baby! Well ok Eric Clapton and John Lennon and a few others but I want you!
So Xcellent, will music come back to this era again?

Joe Walsh is definitely one of the most under rated guitarist, but he didn't do himself any favors by joining up with the Eagles-too commercial.

he really just blows them away.

@longfootbuddy Well if Clapton is the most over rated, which I believe him to be. Then Beck is the most underated.
Also Randy Rhodes Never gets the credit he deserves from the mainstream music world. take it easy longfoot.

@seanmahon101 aw, who cares about mainstream anything.. makes no difference what majorities think...well it shouldnt, anyway
