Interesting, especially his work on "The Wall". As far as the "vulgar" Americans maybe he should have also done some work on European colonialism. There is is plenty of death, war, disease, pillaging etc etc on that subject.

Does anyone know where i can find the "scarfe on scarfe" BBC documentary that this great clip came from? I stumbled across it once on tv. It is incredible. Please share if you can. Thanks for posting this snippet.

Yes I have it but unfortunately it's on a Betamax tape and it's a case of wiring up my Beta machine to play it. When I last tried, it was all out of sync when I uploaded it but I shall have another go in due course. Your patience will be rewarded!

I've attempted to upload the Scarfe On Scarfe documentary several times now but YouTube simply will not let me. It is absolutely bizzarre! Every time I try, my computer crashes and I get blue screen of death!

What is even stranger is that I recorded it on Betamax back in 1986. I then transferred it to VHS in 1993, yet YouTube WILL NOT ALLOW IT!

I cannot understand it! But if you would like a copy, cziino, then please PM me with your address and I'll send you a DVD.

It was broadcast in full by the BBC as part of an animation season they showed on BBC4, sometime around 2003.

You're right: Because of Mickey, it's unliely this will ever see a release... at least not with that section intact ;-)

Thanks for posting this. I've always wanted to see this film.

I wonder if the reason the full film is so hard to come by (as I recall the full piece was something like 15 minutes long) is because of Mickey's appearance. As I understand it, you can't have anything that even looks remotely like Mickey's silhouette constitutes a copyright violation. And the Disney legal department would almost certainly object to a satirical film showing Mickey smoking a joint and getting stoned.

Yes, I'm not sure why the full version wasn't shown by BBC4 when they repeated it. Another YouTuber very kindly sent me a DVD of the BBC4 version and the missing part is interestingly not the Mickey Mouse smoking spliff part, but the "Super Dollar" part which is on here from 0:20 to 2:10. The BBC 4 version is 16:22. Adding this part makes it 18:09, yet Scarfe himself has said the whole thing was 17 minutes! Confused? I know Iam!

I stumbled across a repeat showing of this film, on a particularly hazy night, on British TV some 15-odd years ago. I was astonished by it. I have been trying to track down a copy ever since. This little excerpt has inspired me to keep searching. Thanks for posting it up.
