  • Did the same drive all night Friday no sleep for the California Custom Knife show. It's amazing how juiced you get at the show you forget you're tired. I even forgot to eat.

  • Beautiful knife

  • thats a cool looking blade hope its legal in CA now i have a problem this one or the zero tolerance 0777 hmmmm

  • Comment removed

  • i was watching more videos and i noticed a lot of people who purchased these knives were saying that the thumb studs were developing rust, and they were not even using the blade just storing it...i was wondering how yours was holding up as far as any rust development

  • nide video bro! ive been back and forth on getting this knife for a while and your vid just made me pull the trigger on it,im looking forward to getting it...the only thing i hate is the fact that you cant adjust the pivot..thats a huge bump in the road for me but im going for it anyhow

  • i love my production select fire

  • WHAAAAT? $100 off??? Dude...

  • Just subscribed to you page. I found it by way of refrencing this knife. But, after a closer look I think I will say that I don't like it too much of a fantasy Gill Hibbon dragon slayer. I know its from Microtech and is great quality so don't troll me.

  • Have the screws come loose yet.

  • Any play in the blade? My Kestral has play in it man, sucks.

  • that is a cool blade, because of you i have the D/A version coming in the mail, good review, i should have mine on tuesday, i have a few good vids to do, hope you are watching

  • Hey man i was wondering how the select-fire is working out for you i want to buy one but i wanted to ask someone who had first hand experience.

  • Hey it's stuttering John...good vids man

  • Lol got knives on the brain, ment to type blame you, not blade you, lol.

  • Love the vids buddy! Hope you had a good 4th! I know we are all busy, but hope to see some new vids soon. Fyi I am going to blade you cause I wasnt originally going to but I think I have got to get a select fire now. Beautiful. Love the colored backspace as well! Thanks for the gret vids!

  • awesome vid. great looking knife!

  • I think that's the best looking Microtech I've ever seen! Grind lines are clean...and its awesome that its manual action.

  • love it when is it's coming out and how much are they going to price at .

  • Oh and a Marine had a knife stolen off of a sheath maker's table. It was a personally engraved Strider that said USMC and the man's name. It had been left there as an example of the sheath making capabilities of this sheath maker. He turned his back for a few seconds, looked back, and it was gone. Someone seriously stole a US Marine's personally engraved Strider and sheath right off the table at Blade. They were not caught and probably wont be. It's absolutely disgusting.

  • Sounds great Bro, do you like Guinness? Mmmmmm Beeeeer!

Or maybe a Hennessy and Coke, good stuff!

  • FYI: I just did some reading and it seems like S35VN is more comparable to S30V but I think S90V is quite a step above both S30V and S35VN. This is what it says on Crucibles site: "Substituting niobium carbides for some of the

vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher

than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s

improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping."

  • @jeffersontool

Thank you Jeffersontool.... duly noted my good man:-)

  • I read on BF that the Microtech booth left something to be desired as far as the lack of product on their booth and the lack of customer interaction. It sounds as though your experience was just the opposite. I need to get my hands on a MT apparently.

Thanks for showing the pocket profile in your reviews. I wish more reviewers would do this. I'd love to see a pocket profile for a Stider SNG or SMF but nobody does it.

  • @jeffersontool

I really am not much of a forum guy. I generally keep things to the tube.... unless a general query through a search engine leads me to a forum containing the information I'm seeking. Speaking from a customer who approached Microtech's booth on the 2nd day of festivities... I had both the President and his son's complete attention. After the 1st day things tend to come to a near screeching halt at Blade. I was the only guy at the booth. I guess I was one of the lucky guys.

  • Hey man do you know why the production select fires are going to auto/manual just wondering thanks.

  • @knifeaddiction2011

    Don't know at the moment.

  • wow man as much as i love microtech's autos that is one awesome blade great choice man. i'm glad you got to go to blade show seems like it would have been an awesome time, i had tried to piece together a plan to make it but it never came full circle. awesome knife man keep it comin with the great vids.

  • @bobmellon

Thank you for the comment. Yeah, it worked out for everyone who attended along with me. My non-blade enthusiast friends got to meet R. Lee Ermey and have their picture taken with him. He signed their programs ALL for free. Lee's a great man. Thanks for watchin' buddy!!!

  • @apophysis7 awesome, you been edcin this thing i know i would be its so freakin wicked, i need to get one i know the price tag is gonna be steep though

  • kirk you would make an excellent male model

  • @MRhobothomas

    Thank you:-)

  • congrats on getting a microtech that you can legally carry in your area. bummer about the screws though. i dont like having something i dont have the tool to fix or adjust. it just bothers me. the knife looks like that strider microtech collaboration you showed some vids back. very strider like in the handle at least. good souvenir from the show. that microtech.

  • @PavlovSandor

Thank you Pavlov. This knife is workin' great as an EDC weighing in at over 5 ounces. The ergos make it carry like a 4 oz. knife. Genius design.

  • I NEED A MICROTECH

  • @hugo2x

They are my very favorite production blade company. Thanks for commenting:-)

  • Awesome knife. Keep it!

  • @ohcraisokay

I generally keep all my knives. Rarely do I give away things outta my personal collection. Gift-giving is planned. And I've never sold any knife. Blades, and spreadin' the love, are strictly a passion for me.

  • awsome blade could u tell me weight thanks for the vid

  • @tap42al

5.75 ounces. Carries like a 4.50 ounce blade because of it's well-designed ergos.

  • Very nice looking design man! Lovin what Microtech has done lately!

  • @antixbush

Thanks Glenn. I also hope they keep up the great work my friend:-)

  • @apophysis7 Really top quality stuff. Microtech has been really doing good work lately!! Hope to hear from you soon, Kirk. Email me if you don't have my number anymore. Are you planning on a visit to destin anytime soon? Pensacola is right around the corner :). I know some great places to grab a beer at!! Take care man!!

  • Love the shirt Kirk!

  • @antixbush

Thank you. Bought it at an Atlanta pub called The Vortex. Paintings of George Carlin, Richard Pryor and Bill Hicks surround the one-of-a-kind entrance.

  • Very nice blade shape. Thanks for the vid

  • @sgtbeefy1

    Thank you for watchin'!!!

  • that piece of cutlery is straight fire.....nice score!!!

  • @Rudemustang1

    Thank you:-)

  • super nice ,super nice should I say it again......Awsome.knife

  • @grizzlyglock1

Thank you for the kind words. Appreciate the support bro:-)

  • You are a dangerous man, dangerous because now I am interested in this knife. I love the wide shape of the blade, that it's manual action, and of course the aesthetic beauty. Awesome review!

  • @barefoot130

I appreciate the comment. Guy's like yourself keep this channel afloat my good man:-)

  • That knife is absolutely gorgeous. Does Microtech plan do do many other manuals? I thought I heard noises of the Mini-Socom Manual coming back.

  • @audiophile71

Hey Buddy!! Yeah.... umm, much like companies like Surefire, it's kinda tough to read either one of these makers. Many people believed we'd never see The Invictus from Surefire.... and now it's here!! All I know is the Select Fire should go into production for a limited period of time. Thanks for dropping by as usual mate:-)

  • @apophysis7 Thank you, sir! I'll always be dropping by, actually.

Well, I guess I will just have to wait and see if more manuals start dribbling out of MT. Hopefully they will, but I am not going to hold my breath. :)

So, are you going to start putting out flashlight overviews? That would be interesting, and you are the guy who I would trust to do it properly. Just an idea!

  • I always hear people talking about how hard microtechs are to find or rare, is it because of their expensive price, or are they just sold in limited quantities?

  • @StewartLucrative

Both. But manuals are indeed rare from where I'm sitting.

  • thats such a kick ass knife thanks for sharing!!

  • @tkrasick

You're welcome. Thank you for watchin'!!!

  • That Select Fire is AWESOME. I might have to buy one of those actually, I have a feeling it will retain value if they discontinue it like the manual SOCOM series.

  • @mindsmirror

It was nice meeting you at Blade. You're a quality guy. Thank you for the kind words my friend:-)

  • Hey, glad to see you got a Microtech. Sorry I had to split to get to that Hinderer Lottery. The Emerson Lottery came right after that, so I ended up being stuck in lotteries all day, lol. A girl that got picked started screaming and wildly waving her arms around and she knocked all of the Hinderer knives into one another, it was crazy man.

  • @mindsmirror

Wow, that must have been quite an unfortunate scene for Hinderer and his horde of fans standing by eagerly for a chance to win a blade that would've been treated with the care it deserved. So many nice people there..... and The Fool won:-(

  • @apophysis7 I know man, it fucking pissed me off to see such careless behavior by an adult around a pristine pile of brand new knives costing thousands of dollars. I shit you not, the entire crowd of over 200 people collectively said "WOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAH" at the same time! You could tell Hinderer's main man (Rob?), who was in charge of the table, was a bit flustered by it. The look on his face pretty much said "holy fuck dude!" Nobody checked the knives for damage and they all sold full price btw.

  • @apophysis7 After the incident I almost didn't want to be called because I knew I'd get picked last or something and what remained would be the one knife that got fucked up the most, lol. I already own one knife that was damaged by an idiot's behavior at a maker's table. Luckily he gave a discount and I don't ever plan on selling it. One of the knives I bought was scratched noticeably in the choil area by someone wearing jewelry (Some kind of large ring) when they handled it.

  • @apophysis7 I had left it on the table so the maker would still have examples to show people. Luckily, I have no plans to sell this knife and it was the knife I had planned to use anyway. Still, it's annoying to see people who can't figure basic shit out and who go around fucking up knives. Any bead blasted frame they handled was guaranteed to look scratched all to hell and I guarantee you that person (Whoever they were) probably scratched up a lot of knives at Blade.

  • Sweet looking folder. Good to see you looking happy and chirpy and doing what you do so well. Keep up the good work Pal

    ATB

    Friz

  • @mrfriz42

Awe man... thank you. And thank you for watchin'!!

  • P.P.S Man! That is one sexy lady of a folder! My personal tastes don't usually run to the out-the-front autos so I have to say that is my favorite Microtech that I've seen so far. I also prefer the satin finish to a bead-blasted or stonewashed on a carry knife. I've had some trouble with tarnish and rust even on a S-30v knife with a stonewashed finish. Took it apart and put a satin finish on it (took it down to 800 grit) and it never rusted since. Really dig the knife my friend.

  • @MrSenset

..... And above all else my friend, under any circumstance, carry a Strider. They ALL rust in every finish. Thank you for watching:-)

  • I'm digging your shorts homes. Do you have a link to them?

  • @MrMathsStraightRazor

No. I physically buy my all my cargos from an Army/Navy store in downtown Boston named Kenmore. Propper BDUs. I will however provide you with Jerry's YT channel name..... and that's "armystore". Hope my information helps.

  • Glad you made it to the show. Sometimes it's hard to get yourself motivated to do something but when you kick yourself in the but and do it you look back and are glad you did do it. Good for you. Thanks for all your really good videos and thanks for sharing your knives with the rest of us. P.S It seems that those Jesus-chrispys who gave you such crap for your non-religious views decided to NOT try to spew their crap to you in person. LOL!

  • @MrSenset

That was important for me. To go down there and show that I generally embrace people of all creeds..... them as individuals I should say. That I don't hate Christians.... but will debate them on the issues. I don't go lookin' for trouble. If it happens to find me I'm also no skilled martial artist. I can be beat up. Just not by most people.

  • Hey Kirk,

Did you see that sweet mountain bike that Mantis knives is making ? Pretty cool.

  • @1AbominAble1

No. Missed your call the other day. Let's go grab a virtual beer my friend:-)

  • Pretty jealous of that knife kirk!

  • @averysevenfold

Awesome blade. Limited funds this month-- but REALLY elated with this purchase. Microtechs are made to last-- and their corrosion resistance is among the best I've seen from any maker. Thanks for watchin' man:-)

  • Yeah I must say that is one awesome blade

  • @johnwoodz1220

    Thank you:-)

  • That is a great looking blade, Kirk. Thanks for sharing your experience at blade show with us. Keep up the great work.

  • @edgedweapon88

You too my friend!!! Your review of the Para 2 will not be topped!!

  • Beautiful looking blade mate. Looks like a nice smooth action when open and closed to.

    Thanks for the review

    Take Care

  • @Pattas29

You are most certainly welcome. Thank you for the comment!!!

  • Kirk,do you know what is the list price for the knife and what will be the street price for the knife?

  • @ktaguchi

No. But the knife may cost half as much.

  • Badass I'm gone have to buy one.

  • @knifeaddiction2011

They will be much cheaper when you do.

  • Great stuff Kirk! You're so lucky to have been able to attend Blade show. I love reviews that show the knife clipped to a pocket. Keep it up.

  • @deadcoww

Thank you man. Glad people liked this video. Controversy does strike like an Eastern Diamondback..... but only some of the time ;-)

  • really like that reverse tanto

  • @fredde90210

    Thank you faithful sub:-)

  • I like the knife. Glad you had a good time at Blade.

  • @CreativeOutletHobbie

Hey man..... and thank you for commenting:-)

  • great knife kirk love the blade shape!

  • @mancintheusa

    Thank you:-)

  • wow! excellent video... I love the new knife you have... I especially liked the part of the video where you showed how to open and close it... I didn't know there were that many intricate details to understand, and of course, i don't know how to comment on the details as I don't know much about knives... awesome job! xoxo abs

  • @abs3475

Thank you Abby. You are a dear friend, and loyal sub:)

  • That is a really nice looking knife man, glad you got to pick one up.

Have you ever inquired or found out why MT uses proprietary screws for all their hardware?

  • @JohnWayneColt45

I don't know..... but beyond looking cool it really sucks partner. And I forgot to address the issue personally with Tony Jr. because I drove 20 hours straight without sleep the night before. I've decide..... I'm planning ahead next time:-)

  • @apophysis7 i have the D/A version coming and will do a review, and i have been looking at the screws, i might have an answer to working those screws

  • I really wish microtech would make a karambit. Started training with it.

  • @Churchx77

They probably will..... life is relatively long.

  • @apophysis7 Heres to hoping.

  • Awesome knife

  • @MrRastafarianman

    Thank you:-)

  • very nice Kirk!

  • @Burson69

There he is!!!!!! You're the man Burson!!!! Thanks for all your support brother!!!

  • its renaissance wax that he puts on the blaade right? cauuse it looks beautiful

  • @thestefanngo

    Correct.

  • digging the MT select fire! the blade looks massive in proportion!

  • @wmpyr

...... and going into production my friend. At a time when people were beginning to question new original designs from MT... Tony Sr. hit a home run with this concept in my opinion. Thanks for watchin'!!

  • Nice one!

  • @beaker126

    Thank you:-)

  • I love the blade shape, nice score.

    Have a good one.

    racerx32

  • @racerx32

You too my friend.... thank you for watchin"!!

  • Man, I'm really digg'n that blade. Cool knife.

  • @Jacktheripper2829

    Thank you. Appreciate the support:-)

  • I love this one! I have to get it!

  • @oromoto

Price will drop, and I wanna know your take Oromoto. You have unique insight.

  • @apophysis7 Hey K. I am going to email the internet seller to see if they are able to ship it internationally to me. I hope they do...

  • Hey Kirk, since we both live in MA, have you ever had any trouble carrying blades or tools in the city limits?

    cheers~

  • @Ryouchijtx

I typically carry my Para 2 within city limits. I gotta say.... I have never had a cop give me an issue over any blade I carry. I just go about my business, and they tend to look the other way in lieu of scrutinizing honest civilians.

  • @apophysis7 thanks for the update, I rarely carry anything other than a multitool for work and a torch or flashlight for light. perhaps I'll start carrying an edc blade.

    cheers

  • I got a byrdwrench its the fucking bomb.

  • @MPSecare

.... at the show?? Glad you like it bro!!!

  • We both ended up with one knife from the show and we both ended up with a Microtech, I think we both could've guessed that would happen; although I figured you for another high end auto and a few knives from other makers. Thanks for the honorable mention Brother, I had pretty good intel for not even going to the show. Nice knife, you made it a whole lot more intriguing than the brochure. Take care.

  • @1AbominAble1

Yeah man.... I'm pretty content with the knives I own. Harkins was unable to have my ATAC ready for this quarter. Thanks for commenting bro:-)

  • Excellent video! I plan on attending Blade Show in future years when I can. That Select Fire is sweet! I really wish Microtech had more manual action knives. Thanks for sharing, Kirk!

  • @bigbubba5037

SAME HERE!!!! I was shocked I still had the option of getting one. You'd think the autos would be last to sell considering how blade users generally put practicality 1st.

  • Amazing Knife, new subscriber, love your shirt btw and like listening to your voice

  • @MasonDixon1989

Hey my friend..... well I appreciate the support. Without guys like yourself my channel would've died years ago. Thank you for watchin'!!!

  • Thats pretty awesome. I didn't know they had a manual :D But man i just looked at the price on that thing and it's more than my sebenza.

  • @freedoomed

It's built like a tank. The price will be greatly reduced at product launch. Just an educated guess.

  • Cool seeing your knife that I got to hold at Blade on camera. Awesome stuff keep up the great work.

  • @Bladedude92

It was nice meeting you. Your family appeared very supportive of your passion for cutlery. My kinda people:-)

  • perfection!

  • @thomassmyth65

I agree. Thank you for watchin' bro!!!
