  • The video don't do the clothes justice, especially the gradients.

  • Love Love Jil Sander!!

  • the best show ever!!!!!!!!

  • the clothes are awkward. the models look awkward. they walk awkwardly.

  • @KooshieAlmond they arent awkward at all they are diffrent in a brilliant and well tailored way! :D

  • not my style , i like some of the cardigans ,

    but gucci fw 09-10

    was more my style,

if i could only afford these clothes,

i watch the shows, and i try to make them my self,

or buy something that looks the same .

i am just a poor kid

    who loves fashion from

    tom fords home town

  • same here lol poor kid who love fashion from california.lol

  • no i said tom ford's home town : Santa Fe

    he is not from california

  • lol same here i actualy like the style very much similar pieces like raf simons collection.acutaly jil sander did a colaberation with a brand called uniqulo there jackets are only 140 trew 100 u should check it out

  • I actually think the shape of the clothes is quite unique, since a curvy figure on men isn't actually what is commonplace around. I especially like the suits.

Just a question, does anyone know the model on 0:18 and 1:54?

  • it's robbie wadge

  • did anyone go to the show?they played another song with white horses in the lyrics, anyone know who its by?

  • its by portishead. and its called the rip.

  • thanks a lot :-)

  • were you at the show?

  • a bit late, but in case you never found out, it's the rip-portishead

  • the models all looked crows, and the clothes were boring and misanthropic.

  • Da is der Patrick :D Hammer geil :D

  • Men's fashion shows are always a delight to watch. Very good tailoring and streamlined in execution. The models look healthy and scrubbed too.

  • nice xD:D

  • pätrick yihaaa :D

  • =D =D 2:15 is der pätrick die alte schwuppe! gruß an den rest! ;)

  • loosing your precious time for... an ugly expensive grey coat??!!! what a pity!!!...are you really turning GREY??? !!! lol ;o) !!

  • My Poor DANIEL!!!!

  • looks good, not great. doesnt have me overly excited like previous collections from raf. i do love the sweater at 0:42

  • Edwardian meets the present...the shape of things to come? you see these kinds of jackets in sci-fi films today, and if one looks back you can see how science fiction becomes a reality in areas of life,cars,homes,furniture...and eventually, fashion.Thank you Raf Simons!

  • Edwardian women's wear. Perhaps not what most men would like to look like. I never thought I'd see the day men's wear adopted princess lines and the "pidgeon breast" shape of Edwardian women's clothes. Just awful.

  • 50 or 60 yrs ago people would have never considered combining leather/rubber with tailored clothing either.menswear MUST evolve, perhaps most real men choose to evolve.the science fiction observation is apparent and the clothes are not as literal as you make them seem.He could have taken this pretty far,but it's very subtle,it's just the silhouette, the men still look confident & strong.Modern men adopt many different looks into their wardrobe,if you can pull it off, then why not this one?

  • Mr. Andrew, you may not be fond of this approach to such a minimalistic fashion house, but if Sander's look is known for it's minimalism....then how does it keep that idea and still move forward?Raf is doing a good job with this brand, little steps forward while keeping it simple.Interesting, men of the past and present have worn skirts, kilts, togas, sarongs and dresses. These may not be practical forms of dressing today, but was/is the height of masculinity for many men of many cultures.

  • The only reply I have to those points would be the following: while development of ideas is fine, and I do appreciate juxtopposition of materials in creative ways, keep in mind we do not live in an era where men wear skirts anymore (not even the Scottish, & the Middle East men are adopting pants). The men look confident because they are paid to look confident. Most men would feel wretchedly silly on the street. Say what you want - the patterns can't be adapted from the women's shows. Raf, stop!

  • so perhaps masculinity, not menswear is what needs to be re-defined.Again, with the literal interpretation of words....It takes a strong confident man to wear this silhouette...that's the future.

  • I enjoy our debates...keep it up.

  • i like this collection but i see wot ajm means also. however the hourglass sillhouette is a nice touch i thought and adds a complexity to menswear. complex becos it challenges the idea of wot a mans body should be shaped like. and nowadays most high fashion menswear is skinny (cept for designrs like versace where shes stuck w/an old image. i wanna smack her bad). i own quite a bit of jil sander (i live in 1 of the cities that has a shop) and it always makes me feel confident to put it on.

  • I don't think it's awful ; these clothes are beautiful in their simplicity and shapes are just awesome .If you knew little more about fashion of different periods you would know that that kind of shape reminds MEN'S Edwardian clothes , not women's! In Edwardian time that kind of style was considered very masculine indeed! Why all the men's should always wear what is considered conservative men's formal wear of second half of 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries??

  • Fashion should be also fun and mixing styles/ returning to passing times is an excellent idea, giving fashion some fresh air , especially because it's like with music : what new you can discover ? It's all about repetition. Jil Sander is one of my absolutely favorite designers and Raf Simon's is doing great job !

  • But I can understand if you prefer more ''modern masculine clothes''. Just to make it sure : I am NOT gay man ; I don't feel less masculine if I wear that kind of clothes. You must be really proud of your masculinity and not willing to experiment with your style what I can perfectly understand. Most of ''real'' males are like this .Let them be! This way me and few others wearing different clothes will stand out of the crowd of ''real men'' sheeps. Regards :)

  • Your assertions are horribly presumptuous. I HAVE studied the history of fashion, thank you, and that shape is the shape of WOMEN'S clothing in the Edwardian period. I also happen to COLLECT historic clothes, and have both men's and women's from that period. The grey long coat is evocative of women's jackets around 1910 - 14. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with bad design. I AM gay, "man", and one half of this collection would still look silly on the streets. Regards, yourself.

  • idk if half of this would look silly or isnt street wearable. i think some of the puffy armed sweaters in the middle of the show would be hard to pull off. the tight middle hourglass shape doesnt seem that hard to pull off. theyre mostly on coats in this collection. dont u have coats with the small strap on the side and buttons to tighten the middle or let it out some? i have 2 lanvin coats that have them and i always make them slimmer. it adds nice definition to the silhouette

  • It's also horrible you associate being gay with reduced masculinity. That's a homophobic stereotype. I admit it has some validity, but would you like me to assume I know you and your tastes based on your race or sexual orientation? No. It's also interesting (and perhaps tellingly revealing) that you feel you have to assert to the viewing public you are, in fact, not gay. Freudian slip, perhaps?

  • Calm down! I am not homophobic ! Very far from it and in act I have gay-friends and most of them are really masculine. I am quiet feminine and I don't care people think I'm gay or not. I just love original ,different clothes , that's all. We don't need psycho-analitic crap here.I will wear this long gray coat that you said is more for ladies.

  • I believe you that you know lot about fashion and have studied it and even collected original period items. I don't own any of them ; just modern clothes but with ''twist''.

  • My favorite designer is Dries Van Noten , but second after that is Jil Sander. I know they are very different , but I even like mixing them . It's like with everything : we all have different taste and that's what make us unique. Don't get so upset ,please. By the way : I am jealous now to know that you own some Edwardian clothes. How/where you got them? I would love to buy some for myself.

  • The grey coat is probably toward 10, 000$; that would be better spent on a university education (i mean that with sincerity).

My mother owns some Edwardian jackets. One is by the Callot Sisters (my French is bad), and another by Fortuny. They came from an online textile dealer based in New England (USA). I have found others (not really suitable for wear) at antique stores here in Atlantic Canada. The better pieces (Callot, Fortuny) are quite expensive though.

  • Thanks! Maybe one day...

  • loosing your very precious time for... an ugly & very expensive grey coat??!!?? ... are you really turning GREY??!! lol ;o) your very desapointed CLO'

  • Who is Daniel? What's a CLO?

  • Daniel is me -guy who was writing comments using my French ex-girlfriend (CLO') You Tube profile , not to hide myself pretending that I'm somebody else, but just because i have forgotten my own You Tube password which I promise to find now and post all comments using it.She thinks I'm buying too expensive clothes ;) Sure , I'm not going to buy it for full price ; I know great web discount sites when you can get past collections for real bargain ! i'm sure you know them.

  • AH! I understand... you two are a funny pair.

  • I will kill for the music.

  • I only know the finale track, don't kill me.

  • Tell me about it,I'll give you my big karma then.

  • I'm keen to know about the music too

  • a warm place, Nine Inch Nails, from the downward spiral.

  • thank you so much.

  • Nine Inch Nails borrowed this theme from an old David Bowie's instrumental theme : ''Crystal Japan'' ; it was used back in early 80's in Sake Japaneese commercial.

  • At the beginning is Nine Inch Nails ,all right , but try to find David Bowie's ''Crystal Japan'' : that's where all began ! An instrumental beautiful David's theme from early 80's ( time of ''Scary Monsters and Super Creeps'' album , but it was released only on the single) .It was used for Japanese TV commercial of Sake. you can easily find it on You Tube , although quality is quiet poor.

  • yeah im hoping for that track to be used.

  • Comment removed

  • I've never seen more beautiful men in my life.

  • Mesmorising!! Well done Raf.
