US in nothing to do with withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. Soviet army (as military force) performed very well. But new political and economical conditions in late 1980s was changed dramatically - so these are reasons why soviets left afghanistan.

ya but the only reason they did well is because they were fighting against small groups of militias, who didn't have any weapon's that could take out helicopters or heavily armored vehicles so they were being overwhelmed, so u.s gave them some stinger missles to help them out, that and what you said about their government is what lost them the war
