all this music is hip hop the media are always makin names like trip hop grime and shit from afrika bambaataa to roni size from mad profesor to the roots its all the same....same sounds same machines same samples same raping the only thing that change is the bpm or the filters in the bassline
This aint dubstep. This is old grime that was on pirate stations as far back as 01. Dubstep was something completely different back then and almost nothing like what it is now.
No idea why you lot are arguing about segregation and racism as they bare no relevence in the scene.
there are similarities, however, i think this sounds not like dubstep, but definitely like grime. Certainly think most modern dubstep has lost it's connection to the street, and it's hard edge (no matter how many filthy mid-freq bass lines they put it)
@zakbohan ..dubstep IS grime...and its ALL HIPHOP...the BBC created the name Dubstep to SEGREGATE Caucasians from People of Color....If a Caucasian producer made this track...people would say DUBSTEP.....just like Timberland makes futuristic Tech Crunk..and the media says R&B....
@NoFamisanIsland I agree with u that the "R&B" level is media racialist, if not racist patronization. But the rest of what you said is the most bigoted crock-a-shite. The BBC did not invent to word "dubstep" to segregate ppl. While dubstep is also 70bpm and has low bass, it became necessary to have a new name for a sound that was darker (if less street), was distinctly dance music, was not lead by rapping, where they lost the garagey shuffling hi hats, and where the central theme was not crime.
