  • I think that the Navy would have shelled the beach or used cruise missles to lessen the enemy presence a little bit. other tahn that it was great. LCACs would have dropped off a few M1A2's also(not that they exist in OF. if they do, i didn't know it. i only have it for xbox)

  • really great video, you should make more, so ppl see how great DR can really look like :)

  • ok why the fuck wouldn't you send that artillery strike on them in the first place? lol

  • i hope the mission editor comes for ps3. i think it will

  • @tokerev747777

How would you use a mission editor with a console??

It needs a PC to use it, a keyboard and mouse. Mission editing is mostly scripting and precise placing and typing numbers. A console wouldn't be able to do much.

  • but you don't relize one thing! i have cold war crisis and it is crazy simple! and 2. operation fashpoint elite that had come out for xbox had a mission editor!

  • Yes, but even whils't making the game thye said it would be the full editor with the game, not a editor like the ones you get in ArmA's or origonal OFPs.

And there would be no way to use a full editor with a console.

  • Full editor. Heh.

I'll stick with my real Flashpoint/ARMA/ARMA 2 editor. I was expecting more from a non-ingame editor.

  • What did you expect?

It can do alot more than origonal flashpoint / arma editor, it just takes alot more practise and work. Since its more advanced.

  • @thebestpioltever

More advanced? Haha, its got less editing power than the in game Flashpoint/ARMA editor!

Yep, more work and practice to do worse than the equivalent :D

  • @FrohSim Once you get into the scripting side, it becomes alot more advanced. The game is alot less advanced, and practicly usless to what the editor would allow. But the editor itslef is very advanced and powerful in its Scripting side.

  • @thebestpioltever

Hey what a coincidence! ARMA/Flashpoint's editor is the same!

Except... You know... It actually can have a result worth the effort that you can play in game. Not to mention the scripting in ARMA2's editor is much more interactive, easy to learn and as mentioned before, is more powerful as it can actually have results in-game worth the effort you put in scripting..

  • @FrohSim Yes, its easier. But DR's is alot more advanced. Once you learn lua coding well... it becomes very powerful. With the ability to add proper mods it would become very powerful in conjunction with game.

Putting effort into something to get results isnt what advanced means. Thats just your abilities with the certain editor. [cont]

For instance. In arma2 editor it would take 2 mins to create a trigger that made a man move. In DR's editor in 2 mins i can make any US man enter a zone to spawn a tank and have a helo come flying over firing rockets at it. Getting same effect would take ages in ARMA2's editor with my skill. And its probably same way with you... except ARMA2 and OFDR swapped.

Now im not sayinf DR is better....

  • @thebestpioltever

Because the actual game is nowhere near the advanced uses of ARMA2.

And as always, ARMA2 will always come out top, in graphics, gameplay, multiplayer, authenticity, sound, moddability, community... etc etc. But it has its downsides too......

  • @thebestpioltever

I was not saying that its the complexity of the editor that justifies how much effort is put in. I have used both editors, and I was stating that for an outcome (simple or complex) it takes more equivalent effort to achieve the same result.

I am not referring in anyway to skill levels, I am simply saying that the Flashpoint/ARMA editor has a structure that allows more efficient (less effort for same result) construction of missions when compared to Dragon Rising's equivalent.

  • @FrohSim

(Even if the effort could be justified in the game)

  • @FrohSim Yes, but what im saying is once you get very deep into the scripting side of missions the fact is DR:s editor is alot more advanced and much more capible of creating complex missions.

If only it didnt have DR attached to it. :(

  • @thebestpioltever

Hehe, but the thing is both editors can create extremely complex missions, its just that with ARMA's editor that does not require scripting (although it has less components if you do use scripting) to achieve this. I've never tried to make a hugely complex mission in DR's editor, but from what I've read it gets to the point where scripting is always a necessity.

Hence the statement on effort on my last post.

Finally, the effort... For next to nothing :P

  • @FrohSim

(Last statement wasn't clear enough... I was referring to the game :P)

  • @FrohSim Yes, but if you do want to create very complex missions in OF / ARMA you will eventually have to resort to scripting too...

DR is just allowing you more control over scripts.

  • ya but i want your opinion why tehy couldn't? what is so damn complicating about it! put a unit here and move what is so damn hard for that!

  • No, most of the editing is scritping. Only a small part of making missions is actually placing units. Unless you want to wander around with stupid AI doing nothing but following its own logic...

  • oh whatever

  • @tokorev747777 Nah.

  • why not huh why not! a mission editor can easy be in the consols. because ofp elite had it and it was for xbox

  • @tokorev747777 What's in it for codemasters? They don't care if you have a mission editor or not.

  • dude every ine thinks codemasters are greedy jews. in some ways every one is. but if they didn't care they would shut down all servers and stop the dlc's

  • @tokorev747777 I'm not saying they're greedy jews, (mostly because that's morally, ethically, and politically wrong) I'm just saying they're NEVER going to incorporate a map maker into the game. That game was a massive disappointment for me. It was dead right from the beginning with the shitty campaign, massive lag, glitches, and the 3 maps they created for us to play when they had an 18 km x 18 km map to work with.

  • dude. for one its a great game and 2. its allways possible. and 3. skira island has over 200 sqare miles worth of map... it would take 20 minutes to fly from one side to another in a chopper

  • @tokorev747777 So if they had over 200 square miles of already rendered map, then why did the lazy fuck-heads give us 4 maps to play two shitty game types on? The game is dead, just accept it and go play Project Reality.

  • arma started out with 2 or 3 maps. with dlc's they now have over 10. and thanks to cock heads like you the game is dieing

  • @tokorev747777 THE GAME IS ALREADY DEAD. ARMA WAS ONLY FOR PC SO THERE WAS INFINITE MAPS TO BE PLAYED.

  • bonito ;)

  • AWSOME!!!

  • I think he just cut his gun out.

  • what are your pc requarements

  • cool I like it

  • how did you record that? there is any free look camera or something like that?
