Music should be able to transport real feelings, but today's topics are sexyness, craziness, money... I am tired of such songs... fuck BEP, fuck Akon...
songs like this should be sung... I am serious with that!
there are too many of these fckn "musician" today.. its all about money...
might real music last forever and gain back glory of former times...
A beautiful girl,,,A beautiful song,,,,A beautiful voice....A wonderous mixture....So much emotion projected into this song. I would will to meet Jill Jackson or even just talk to her one time. I am so amazed and touched by this.
Continued... I asked this gorgeous girl about it and she said she was "Paula" on the song and I about passed out. We talked for about 45 minutes and she was the one of the nicest girl I ever met. She treated me like she had known me forever and needless to say I was in love forever. That was over 47 years ago and it was for sure one of the biggest highlights of my life. Jill was just as gorgeous as her beautiful voice. "Hey Paula" at the time was a sure favorite and still is today..I love her.
This is a true story...In 1964 I just got out of the Air Force after serving 4 years at Carswell AFB in Ft Worth Tx and needing a job right away I went to work for a carpet cleaning co. On one of my 1st days I got a job to clean carpet in west Ft Worth and as I looked at the address it was for a Jill Jackson and to me a stranger. While there I noted that the girl was about my age, 22 at the time. And I fell in love on the spot. I noticed a Gold Record on the mantel that was "Hey Paula".
The mother of Paulie Teutul, the guy who builds motorcycles on TV's American Chopper, is named Paula. So his parents are Paul and Paula. I shit thee not. (Not "this" P&P, just so we don't get confused!)
@rdwoods1949 I don't think so. Maybe you're thinking of somebody else for example; Terry & Susan & Jack. (Poppy family, "Which way you going Billy") ?
@bernardbleach Do you see, in her eyes, the absolute pure, unadulterated, ethereal love that she has for Paul? My, if my own true love would gaze into my own eyes with that expression. And, yes, Jill is absolutely adorable; the epitome of "cute." And this song, the epitome of love expressed between a man and a woman. My, how I miss those days of innocence.
@painkiller2102 It was a great time to be on earth. I was there. It was a time when people could actually love each other. Enjoy your time now and take care.
Jill Jackson & Ray Hildebrand were the music team of Paul and Paula. He left the duo and went back to college in 1965 and she had a solo career. However this is a great song Ray had written and the two put duo's on the map. Timeless music that shows the innocence of the era. Too bad music has to be so nasty these days with foul lyrics and cussing. Times sure have changed!
I swear i was born in the wrong era..I love music from the 60's and just everything back then seemed so much less hectic like it is now. The music was better, and everyone is right, you don't find music like this anymore.
What's wild is I've meet a couple who married named Paul and Paula and while in college I met a married couple name Bernie and Bernadette. Strange, huh?
The memories this brings back....WOW!!!! It is such a shame that simple, meaningful songs like this are not longer popular......they had the essence of good recordings.....words, a beat, a melody.... I was in school in that era, the 50s and 60s, and sure do miss the great music.......Thank goodness for YouTube!
wish for a time machine , i do , but unfortunately the only thing that can generate 1.21 gigiwatts is a bolt of lightining but you never know when , or where it will strike...."we do now , doc" wrong song , wrong movie but everyone seeing this gets the point. BACK TO THE FUCK THE DEMOCRATS ARE IN OFFICE
OMG, I'm sorry but those last comments are beyond stupid. Paul and Paula are lip syncing to their record (I can't believe I'm even wasting my time writing this comment).
Now, are they actually singing? Because in some parts, it doesn't look like their mouths match the words.
I know, I know that this is her real voice (can't tell about him. I know that isn't the real Paul, he was replaced). But is she actually singing there, or, lip syncing the words?
@califrisco4321 No, she didn't marry Ray and this is not Ray Hildebrand the real "Paul". this was after he left and she got this guy to fill in for him. I think his name was Larry. She married a man whose last name is Landon. Ray married his sweetheart who died of cancer in 1999. He is still a great guy and he and Jill (Paula) still sing together sometimes for special events.
@upwards11 I was listening to an oldies station a few years ago and the DJ was saying that Ray Hildebrand was getting $10,000 a year in royalties for this song. If I remember right, this is the only song he wrote that went to number 1.
@tere9009 I might only be 21 years old, but i just can't get over how amazing and simple the songs were back then. Every one in my office and shop joke about how I'm stuck in a generation I wasn't even born in. Just wish artists like this were still alive and making music nowadays.
@phenom1127 I feel sorry for the people working in your office. There's good and bad music and it doesn't matter if it were recorded in 1956, 1969, 1987 etc.

Ray Hildebrand and Jill Jackson were "Paul & Paula" and this IS Ray in the video. Ray left in 1965 and there was no replacement for him.
Jill and Ray still get together occasionally for "Oldies Reunion Shows" but Ray went on to become a very successful Christian songwriter.
