I have had literally thousands of conversations on this subject and I find a glaring difference in opinion based on location and age. The younger someone is or the nicer the area someone lives in, the higher view they have on police. Likewise the people in poorer areas tend to be constantly harassed by the police and treated like animals regardless of guilt.

I was incarcerated from the time I was 13 until just before I turned 18 on a charge that should have kept me in Juvenile Hall for 28 days. I don't live in a nice neighborhood, however I'm respectful and cooperative with the police leading them to treat me respectfully. I'm not necessarily one of the good guys, but I do care about the greater good, I would not stand by and watch. Again, you create your own reality bro.

Realistically you wouldn't be using it more than once or twice but i think in America where cops work in Alpha units (single man unit), they would need to use it a few times to subdue a non-compliant suspect while they wait for back up. Search for cop tasers man 5 times and you will see how the officer used his taser 5 times to subdue a suspect who kept trying to get back up.

The T.A.S.E.R. is just a tool for them to use. If the officer doesn't have this tool then he/she will have to use something else, like a baton or gun. Yes, they could use their fighting skills, if they have any, but then they risk being injured too.
There have been people that have “died”, after being hit with a T.A.S.E.R. shot, but not conclusive that it was due to the electrical current they have received, which is less the 1% of what a heart defibrillator puts out.
