The onboard computer would also have to make sure it doesn't spray too much or too little. So, each little droplet that the spray sprayed would have to have an onboard guidance system or else the thing wouldn't work.

Obviously, it would be at least 10X more expensive than mass producing garments, but the armed forces have always been known for extavigant spending.

I want what happens on screen time to be relevant to the plot of the episode as a whole, and not some interchangeable scene where it's all like "herp-di-derp, look at this cute future product, DER!". And, YES! Almost every episode has some idiotic "-Der, I am a robot! I do this gimmicky thing!".

I find the characters and plots genuinely funny but I can't stand idiotic filler!

Simpsons also suffers from this, with all the characters one liners in town hall.

@Tenidakiel While it advances the plot, it's a cop out, I would have explained that if I got more than 500 chars, but anyway, the obstacle being that Fry has to get somewhere, and apparently can't do so without army clothes, is rendered completely obsolete by Fry taking up some random item from his boxers which enables him to mount that obstacle just like that, it's like a middle finger to the viewer. Nothing gets exciting if you know that the characters can just... Fucking char limit!

What is wrong with using futuristic devices to help in the current story? The clothes can has been used in several Futurama episodes, and it is not over-used and it doesn't break continuity. So if you can't handle a device that has been used correctly and sparingly, then you really shouldn't watch this show.
