  • Wow, Jaime Aragall, probably the tenor with the most beautiful voice, I am melting :-)! Thanks for the upload!

  • bravo,bravo.SIEMPRE BELLCANTO

  • omg I can just imagine richard verreau singing this, it would have been great.

  • Even when not singing his best, he is still better by miles than any other tenor of the 20th century

  • Strong words- however I believe he ranks up there with the best - Pavarotti, Krauss, Bergonzi.

Of the new singers I very much like Jonas Kaufmann

    Bob T

  • I had the flu so I didn't go to hear Aragall sing Adriana at SF Opera. My wife said he was flat. Others often reported that he sang flat. But everytime I heard him, he was wonderful. I guess I was just lucky. I heard him in Boheme and Tosca and Esclarmonde. He had better high notes than Pavarotti. He was the best Cavaradossi I ever heard (and I had heard Corelli, and Pavarotti and many others).

  • I have never heard Aragall sing flat, he had the highest ringing top note of any tenor.

  • Aragall is great , i love him!!

  • even the sound is not very good thank you for posting this brillant singer ! He should be more popular!

  • probably second only to pavarotti in beautiful production, but i think his career was cut short due to pushing if i am not mistaken.

  • He had a pretty good run. 2 years younger than Domingo and still going strong in the '90s ... IIRC

  • Aragall never pushed which is why is repertoire is smaller. Just before his retirement he recorded a selection of arias from the operas he had the good vocal sense to turn down in his earlier years. Aragall was the ultimate tenor.

  • Honestly Aragall has one of the more beautiful voice in opera, but i dont think he compares to Pavarotti in any way except for the fact he looks better on stage. when you push it shortens the vocal life span it doesn't add roles to your repertoire. there is no push to either bjorling or pavarottis sound, they had the vocal mastery to be able to sing almost anything within good reason and their voices weren't really any larger than aragalls, yet he was able to perform Cs and Bs into his old age.

  • Most beautiful and sexy voices ever!!!

  • "What could I not have done with Aragall's voice," shall Pavarotti have uttered, exemplifying the easiness and purity of the Spanish tenor's voice. Aragall was a tenor of world class but perhaps not of renown.

  • Beautiful voice!!!!!

  • I've got no words. The performance of l'anima ho stanca is for me completely unsurpassed.

  • i like corelli on this one too

  • but belcanto style of aragall is better.

  • @blueMmb1 Corelli is not bad himself!

  • it's a pity that he never get over his nerves, he could be more famous

  • A GORGEOUS VOICE. Underrated tenor.

  • One of the most beautiful tener voices of his time. Even Pavarotti recognized this. In fact they both sang together in Capuletti-Montecchi. C.C.McCalmont

  • Aragall was given the lead and Pavarotti a minor role to suit their status. Aragall may not have sung so many roles or given up opera for concerts of Italian songs, but he remains the greatest tenor.
