We are never certain what we will be reborn as because we cannot control our karma at death and we cannot control our rebirth - YET. Dharma is the way to control our moment of death and ensure a good rebirth.

The behaviour of peoples in successful countries - disciplined, following the rules, doing the right thing - you realize what Karma is trying to teach you. Doing the right thing benefits us all, sometimes nothing bad happens because we do bad things, but we fail to see the good that could have resulted if we had done the right thing - that is the unseen lesson.

If youre a Shugden supporter, this issue may not be resolved in your lifetime. So why not just drop the placards and protests, and do your practice well, and stop creating wrong view in others? And if youre a Dalai Lama supporter? Then support him by practising the Dharma well! Stop claiming you're a Dharmic practitioner when all you do is create wrong view! How much doubt does it create in others' minds when they see monks and nuns being so violent???
Politics only lasts for one lifetime, countries come and go look at what happened after WW2 with many geographical boundaries being redrawn. The benefits of your practice, however, lasts for many many lifetimes. So what are you going to do in THIS lifetime? The Buddha Shakyamuni Himself ate meat when it was given to Him in His alms bowl as do many contemporary Buddhist monks.
There are three rules for eating meat.
1) You cannot order the killing
2) You cannot commit the killing
3) You cannot witness the killing
If these three rules on eating meat are observed then a Buddhist If they choose can eat meat.

The most important aspect of Karma is that you are held accountable for your actions, you are reborn, given another chance to make amends.

@ramaraksha01 karma can be quite violent depending on what causes you have created. If you create violent causes, you will get violent effects. We are never certain what we will be reborn as because we cannot control our karma at death and we cannot control our rebirth - YET. Dharma is the way to control our moment of death and ensure a good rebirth.

First, Hinduism & Buddhism are Teacher faiths - if the student doesn't get it or does something wrong, the Teacher wants to enlighten him not punish him! We get another chance to make things right, just like being in school - fail a test, take it next year or over summer.

The behaviour of peoples in successful countries - disciplined, following the rules, doing the right thing - you realize what Karma is trying to teach you. Doing the right thing benefits us all, sometimes nothing bad happens because we do bad things, but we fail to see the good that could have resulted if we had done the right thing - that is the unseen lesson.

Tibetan Buddhism is being talked about, explored, debated, practiced ALL OVER THE WORLD. The more I think about HHDL's motivation and actions behind it all, the more I am blown away by how compassionate he is.
He doesn't give a damn about "looking good" to please the crowd for votes like many other politicians. Instead, he put himself out there for so much criticism and potential harm to himself. For what?!

If you take on China's point of view, then HHDL is a sure loser, fighting for freedom from a world dominating power.
If you take on HHDL's point of view, you will see that he is not mixing politics with spirituality but USING politics for a spiritual cause instead. Will Tibet be FREE? I doubt. But the beauty of it all is that this "political" situation has open up for HHDL to travel the world as a person in robes. He is the face to Tibetan Buddhism.

I think everyone needs to take a step back and look a little deeper into the issue... remove the samsaric tit-for-tat elements, and look at motivation, cause and effect.

The benefits of your practice, however, lasts for many many lifetimes. So what are you going to do in THIS lifetime? Spend it engaged in an issue that may not be resolved by the time you die, or spend it trying to free yourself so you can in turn in free others from ultimate suffering?

I know.. But I think the reason they follow what he says is because he is the political/spiritual leader.. Plus he is very wise.. But like I said.. To himself he is nothing more than a humble monk..
This is just from what i've heard.. i don't mean to argue i'm just stating what I have seen and read.. With most stories there is always more to it than what is just shown so I could be wrong..

The Dalai Lama told me as well, in the many books I have read by him. Does that count as research, or do I need to stoop to a deeper, more paranoid level of distrust to even doubt the holiest and wisest of my own role models?
