  • im not sure it was a mistake. clapton is one of the best soloists of his time (and ever). I could see it being either a mistake or a pause to move back into the main tune. It could go either way

  • Actually it was a pretty big mistake because it was an important transition to the main tune. It surprised me too when i first listened to hit, thought maybe it was on purpose but that cant be the case. Ah well, he's still god, everyone can make mistakes.

  • I don't give a fuck if he made a little mistake, he is awesomeeee :)

  • to be honest music isnt music without mistakes all this modern stuff with autotuned voices that are pitch perfect ar'nt true musicians, true music is with mistakes and a slightly undertuned giutar and a different voice evertime as that is normal. i think i have a case of the blues :)

  • can somebody tell me the guitar settings to get this kind of tone? plz

  • He made a little mistake at 3:07 :))

But solo is still a great....

  • @N1dza92

    He just missed frets :D

  • @N1dza92 Eric Clapton doesn't make mistakes, now clap yourself for writing that dumb comment

  • Clapton is God!!!!

  • I love this song and I think he is one of the best guitarists, however is he racist?

  • The best Layla's outro ever heard.

  • なん?

  • Clapton could kill Chuck Norris with one bend.

  • @junpark1995 this clapton is a god ^^

  • @junpark1995 What are you talkin about Clapton is Chuck Norris

  • awesome guitar + awesome guitar player + awesome song= ULTR AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • o my god!!!!! the sound in the solo so amazing...... he was used in dijitec eric clapton pedal?

  • 4me this is the best LAYLA live!!! little difrent but so amazing!!! laaaaaaaayla :P

  • Eric's in perfect condition! He's like good wine! hopefully see him again live, it was great!!

  • It's pretty weird to think that these guys were once just teenagers in the 60s, who jammed in their rooms or basements together.... and now they're in their 60s, lol, and still playing like no time has passed.

  • best layla solo ever

  • 2:20 ......oh my god.

  • Eric's not "God" just an ordinary human being with all our weaknesses and failings (booze, drugs, women). He just happens to be blessed with an extraordinary talent, for which I am eternally grateful. :D

As the man himself once said to Pete Townshend (himself no slouch) after they both witnesed Hendrix "If I'm God... who the F**k is THAT?!" and then mumbled "I'm off 'ome to practice"

No I'm not trying to suggest Hendrix is a deity either.

or that #1 is better than #2 or any of that bollix.

  • @asm1

I've seen more then one Documentary by The Who where they brush off Jimi Hendrix, constantly saying he was an average guitar player, and stole Pete's smashing the guitar stage trick.

  • @TrifectaStudio I'll get stick for this but .... I'm NOT a big hendrix fan. Studio, yeah he was great. I'm not saying he's crap but he doesn't do it for me in the same way. Sloppy live ? maybe (Too many drugs ? probably)... just not my thing at all. I guess I agree with the Who lol.

Anyways I was merely commenting on Clapton's observation to Townshend about Hendrix. not trying to compare.

    They're all better than me anyway lol I can't /dont play :D

  • that is one sick guitar. That is one sick song.

  • but didnt god let his son die? somethin to think about

  • he chose to die, then he came back to life, so that's a bit different than clapton's story

  • claptons not god shit heads ,he would be the 1st to tell u that. If he were God would he let his kid die the way he did? Great guitar player but god, is oh so silly

  • this is the best version out there check the solo at 2.20 it is insane where does that bend come from....Clapton is god

  • what year was this ?

  • 6:40 chingon

  • Brilliant song can never get tired of it !

  • Is Eric Clapton God?

  • oh yes ;)

  • has that lefty guitarist his low strings at the bottom and his high strings above?? never seen that before:P

  • what he has done is learnt on o right handed guitar and not changed the strings so they are upside down... but then he bought the left handed strat and put the strings on up side down... it doesn't stop him from being awesome

  • i completely agree with u somada but i would say not wated just like he had a little to much and worked a shit load

  • oh i didn't realize that but you are right:D....best ever

  • In this live clapton looks totally wasted...

However his singing is not affected in the least...Man that guy rocks

  • yea haha...dunno if he recovered from alcoholism or not but he's still the man

  • Crossroads Festiwal is Eric's idea. He organized entire show, played with many guests, So at the end he must have been tired.

  • Eric clapton is the best guitarist alive.

  • @odoyle2112 Eric Clapton is the best guitarist.

  • insane solo,clapton the best..

  • i also couln't believe but its true^^

  • amazing both clapton and the back up guy

  • wow his tone is really fat in this song...

  • i wish more people knew doyle bramhall

hes the backup guitarist you see here and he happens to be sick

  • he has the flu?

  • i love doyle Bramhall i saw him live at the Hendrix Experience and with clapton and the Palace in Auburn Hills a few years back good show and i think i was 16 when i saw them

  • I saw a special on PBS or something where Clapton had this whole line up, along with Billy Preston. They were doing a whole bunch of blues tunes. But the cool thing was you really got to see Bramhall and his fingering. It's jaw droppingly great

  • wonderfull¡¡¡¡¡

  • Eric is black on the inside I think

  • why do think that?^^

  • the game

  • The back up guitarist has his strings the wrong way up :P

  • Er, he's left handed mate!

  • ...and he has it strung in reverse. Albert King style.

  • nathan east is the best !!!

  • Music was created for this song!

  • awesome song

  • Kick off is #1 on FiddlePig's list of all-time greatest Rock'n Roll riffs!

  • You da man, Eric!

  • I dunno. The drums are way too heavy in this recording. Good solo by Clapton.

  • is one of best versions ever. His playing was at his very best at the Crossroads concert in 2004

  • Best version ever! He's the man!

  • I love this performance!
