im not sure it was a mistake. clapton is one of the best soloists of his time (and ever). I could see it being either a mistake or a pause to move back into the main tune. It could go either way
Actually it was a pretty big mistake because it was an important transition to the main tune. It surprised me too when i first listened to hit, thought maybe it was on purpose but that cant be the case. Ah well, he's still god, everyone can make mistakes.
to be honest music isnt music without mistakes all this modern stuff with autotuned voices that are pitch perfect ar'nt true musicians, true music is with mistakes and a slightly undertuned giutar and a different voice evertime as that is normal. i think i have a case of the blues :)
It's pretty weird to think that these guys were once just teenagers in the 60s, who jammed in their rooms or basements together.... and now they're in their 60s, lol, and still playing like no time has passed.
Eric's not "God" just an ordinary human being with all our weaknesses and failings (booze, drugs, women). He just happens to be blessed with an extraordinary talent, for which I am eternally grateful. :D
As the man himself once said to Pete Townshend (himself no slouch) after they both witnesed Hendrix "If I'm God... who the F**k is THAT?!" and then mumbled "I'm off 'ome to practice"
No I'm not trying to suggest Hendrix is a deity either.
or that #1 is better than #2 or any of that bollix.
I've seen more then one Documentary by The Who where they brush off Jimi Hendrix, constantly saying he was an average guitar player, and stole Pete's smashing the guitar stage trick.
@TrifectaStudio I'll get stick for this but .... I'm NOT a big hendrix fan. Studio, yeah he was great. I'm not saying he's crap but he doesn't do it for me in the same way. Sloppy live ? maybe (Too many drugs ? probably)... just not my thing at all. I guess I agree with the Who lol.
Anyways I was merely commenting on Clapton's observation to Townshend about Hendrix. not trying to compare.
They're all better than me anyway lol I can't /dont play :D
claptons not god shit heads ,he would be the 1st to tell u that. If he were God would he let his kid die the way he did? Great guitar player but god, is oh so silly
what he has done is learnt on o right handed guitar and not changed the strings so they are upside down... but then he bought the left handed strat and put the strings on up side down... it doesn't stop him from being awesome
i agree a bit. stairway to heaven, compfortly numb, sultuans of swing, telegraph road, layla, old love, and i shot the sherrif at these concert are the most best guitar solis i ever heard. and clapton is still guitar god! love his solis
This is actually on the DVD its soft of like a hidden song...You have 2 go to the 2nd disk go 2 the bonus menu press left on your remote till u see the cursor dissepear then press play and it will play i didnt think it would work but my friend told me about it and i tried it and it did..
i love doyle Bramhall i saw him live at the Hendrix Experience and with clapton and the Palace in Auburn Hills a few years back good show and i think i was 16 when i saw them
I saw a special on PBS or something where Clapton had this whole line up, along with Billy Preston. They were doing a whole bunch of blues tunes. But the cool thing was you really got to see Bramhall and his fingering. It's jaw droppingly great
