I've broken several toes, 2 in the past year. The initial injuries stirred-up a blue cloud of swearing, but there was little pain after that. It just pinched and itched a bit. No real pain though. The key is to break only the smaller toes, Matt. You get the same amount of sympathy-inducing purple bruising with less limping and little pain. Just an FYI!
