I think of all the moments in comedy I have wasted.
All the watered down "controversial" baloney that makes fun of people that i never laughed at. Even if I don't hit my thigh with Lenny I think, something that is completely absent in the mainstream culture like dwindling alternative media that is journalism. Check out Democracy Now.
Lenny was one of the first comedians to not tell jokes. But to talk about situations and describe the absurdity of things. Most stand up was da da dum type jokes. That's where I think he set the table for Pyror and Carlin.
I lke this video, but I always find the legend of Lenny Bruce far more interesting than Lenny Bruce. I also hardly have laughed at a Lenny joke yet. However, that is probably a far more sad commentary on me than Mr. Bruce.
I have dug Lenny for 20+ years, and he's still not as laugh-out-loud funny as Carlin and Pryor...Lenny came in third behind these two in the Comedy Central 100 Greatest Comedians list...they both referenced him as an influence, though.
Yeah.. not too many Lenny Bruce clips out there.. sort of like Bill Hicks.. apparently the people who own the rights to his stuff (now that he's dead, of course) are blocking them from being posted publicly. Same goes for Lenny, which is just really, really sad. Wonderful men like this die so vultures can make money off them. It's so WRONG it blows my mind. But, well.. anyway..
Thanks. Dustin did an awesome Lenny. I appreciate that, and also wish someone would put up another Lenny Bruce. Maybe there just aren't many out there. Too bad.
I don't like how you don't acknowledge that the images are Dustin Hoffman. The beginning voice is Lenny, but about a minute into it is Dustin Hoffman...this is totally inaccurate.. but you do only say that its lenny bruce points on society, but someone could be fooled.
It was distracting at the beginning when I realized this was from the Bob Fossi 1974 film, "Lenny", starring Dustin Hoffman. It appears to be intentionally misleading for failing to mention in the description that this is a recreation .
.
If desired, the description and title can be changed many times with as much detail as needed, including the interesting fact in your comment about the audio at the beginning. :)
THIS IS NOT LENNY BRUCE! It is Dustin Hoffman playing Lenny Bruce.

Don't worry too much about it. In fact, here is an actual quote fromt the man himself:
I'm sorry if I wasn't very funny tonight. Sometimes I'm not. I'm not a comedian. I'm Lenny Bruce.
