Unreal Editor 4 from GoW!

I didn't think GoW used Unreal Ed 4. =S

I thought it was Unreal Ed 3..

no actually it went like this the first unreal had unreal editor 1 then ut99 had unreal editor 2 in the patch then ut2004 came and had unreal editor 3.0 (it says on the loading screen), then ut3 came along and had unreal editor 4 learn ur unreal history ppl.

Correct me if I am wrong because i find it pretty confusing too.

The follower of UT2004's UNREALed 2.5

Unreal tournament 99 first had unrealed 1, but later a much better and debuged version came out with a UT patch, that was UnrealEd2

ow yea i see xD :S but somehow on wikipedia I read that UT2004 used unreal ed 2.5 :S I never use unreal ed 3, so i tought wiki was right with them saying it was an unreal ed 2.5 xD srry

From what i khnow unreal ed 2.5 was used in unreal the liandri conflict for the first xbox and a stargate shoter game for pc(not ever released but i think its somewhere in internet).

Mark Rein (VP of Epic Games) is very picky about Unreal Editor's name.

He insists that you always use "Unreal Editor for ((insert game name here))"

After Unreal Editor 3 there is no major numerals in version. It's just so called "Unreal Editor" for Unreal Engine 3, not Unreal Editor 4.

nope. ut3 will have unreal 3 related packages. it won't contain any gears of war packages as its a seperate game.

u can go into the game of gears of war and go into cooked pc for the game and get the files there :)

I'm sure you can load pak files from UT3 to GOW and vice-versa. You need to just copy those files over next to your original game files.

Roboblitz also has the editor. It was the first game released using the UE3 and came with the editor.

Area 51 and Stronghold also use the engine but I'm not 100% sure if they came with the editor.

thanks for this tipps but....lol!? i played area 51 2 weeks ago again (after uninstalling it for about 2 years..) and the grafiks wer so....SO bad...nothing against UT3 or GoW =S

Maybe we're talking about different games. The one I meant is called Blacksite Area 51 and it came out less than a year ago, I believe. It used the UE3 so it looked fine but it got pretty mediocre reviews.

if when you were installing it you checked the install editor box, than you have to make a new gears of war shortcut on your desktop, then go to the shortcuts properties, and at the end of the "target" line type in editor so it should look like this

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Gears of War\Binaries\Startup.exe" editor

The levels for this game were made using unreal editor 4. maps made in ut 2003 were made with unreal editor 3. but use dunreal engine 2.

people here are talking about the map maker. NOT the game engine. UnrealEd 1 and 2 where released with UT1. UT2003 came with UnrealEd 3. GOW and UT3 come with UnrealEd 4
