Akai MPK25 Quick setup for Ableton live 8

Neither my MPK25 or APC40 show any MIDI input light flashing in Ableton Live. Both show up

in Windows Device Manager with no exceptions. Computer keyboard plays fine and MIDI input in Live flashs. They both come bundled with Live and instructions indicate plug and play. Live records MIDI fine with the computer keyboard just no input from spendy native supported interfaces...whats up Ableton?

Hey man i got all inputs and outputs configured in the preferences but when i put an instrument in a midi track and arm the track i can't get any sound from the akai but i can get sound from the computer keys. Any idea on what to do?

@JLSmithson22 in my video description, i just posted a link to the detailed pdf manuals which didn't exist when I made this old video. the ableton setup one should help. i finally learned what all those track, sync, remote on/off switches do hahah.

when i click on prefrenences and go on midi synce, when i click mpk 25 i dont get an option to change my input .. output only and the option i get for that is the microsoft thing ... please help, thanks

hey man i don't understand...... i go to control surface and look for mpk25 but there isn't one in there only mpk49 the rest have mpk25..... another thing i think i deleted the preset for live on my mpk25 please reply with help thanks

just answered my own question, and for anyone else,

the little button is apparently called 'Quantization" don't know what its for, but i dont like that little guy very much...

@DementiaInc quantization is what autimatically locks whatever is recorded to the beat. it's mainly to assist when live recording drums pads and you want the timing accurate

Has anyone found a way to get rid of the delay once i've mapped a sampled to the drum pad from the vertical standing "session" page? i'm trying to play multiple samples back to back like a regular MPC would, but the green button starts flashing and sometimes the two samples will play all at once, very annoying,

why do u have it set to value scaling? not much point in them being endless encoders if your using a software takeover mode.

@cosmiccooosmic ok. so this is what ive done but still doesnt work connected my akai mpk 88 opened live lite and set all my prefrences and then dragged a sound into the midi but there is no sound on my keyboard but if i push buttons on my latop it does make noise

If you don,t push play on Live the arp button doesn,t light. It.s ok i think, you are setting the clock to external ;-).

I don't hear anything at all when I drag a sound over onto Abelton Live 8. Its not showing MPK25 for Input and Output. Do I need to buy extra items then what came with the Akai MPK25?

@mrooster09 what OS are you running? check in your device manager and see if windows sees it. Windows should detect that you plugged in the mpk25 and if windows sees it so should ableton.

@cosmiccooosmic if it doesn't see it. It could be a usb problem. trying a different usb port or check in device manager that the drivers are good
