Give back Tibet so Dalai Lama can organize their own military forces to protect the region? LOL, they will get over-run by terrorists. What to do next? Invite the west to establish military bases. LOL, that's the whole freaking point to all this, it has nothing to do with Tibetan people. The West want to establish their foot right in the heart of Asia.
Who will protect Tibet? Their own military? Who will train their soldiers? The West.
I guess you think the EVIL communist party is protecting Tibet. FYI
TIBET: AN OCCUPIED COUNTRY
A Long History of Sovereignty
While China claims that Tibet has always been a part of China, Tibet has a history of at least 1300 years of independence from China.
In 821 China and Tibet ended almost 200 years of fighting with a treaty engraved on three stone pillars, one of which still stands in front of the Jokhang cathedral in Lhasa.
The treaty reads in part: Both Tibet and China shall keep the country and frontiers of which they are now possessed.
#
Remember what happened in WW2 ??
Tibetans didn't allow the allies to transport war materials across Tibet, because they don't believe in war or oppression, unlike the EVIL communist party of china.
Let me tell you reality, No government agency in the entire world can govern China better than the Chinese government. You simple minded folks think you can change a bunch of human rights laws, then every one will be even happier? There are much more involved in a country with the largest population. Crime is serious if you do not have strict enforcement, such as death penalty to drug trafficker Imagine other sectors.
Crime happens every in the world. China has harsh punishment for their criminals because they need to set examples, which, set an understanding within their society that any crime is not acceptable.
With such a large population, plus more than half of the people are low-income / poverty status, it is necessary to have highest punishment for criminals.
Simply put, when America reach 1 Billion in population, you think laws will become more strict, loose, or the same?
Dalia Lama is too peaceful to enforce any laws that will maintain peace, order, and daily operation for the people of China.
Regardless, he will never run China because that world is.....another world, in another dimension, where Dalia Lama could have purple-red skin; because he will never run China, in this world that we live in. Therefore, your comment is just the word, 'IF,' which is, irrelevant .
using the quote marks, you will see many communist party websites claiming 50 years of democratic reform in Tibet. If the communist party was a good job there would be no need for them to LIE.

Do you know about the Persecution of Falun Gong that started in 1999 ??
Now there is LIVE Organ Harvesting happening in China.
Although J. Zemin has said he regrets the persecution it hasn't stopped
I like both, the problem with China is that many Chinese people are racist, and quite rude to foreigners, I could understand how Tibetans would object to that. I do find it fascinating learning Chinese and about Chinese culture from the inside. Also it is a great feeling being in a country that is growing rapidly. Currently, I am living in Argentina, where I have started an English school.
Thanks for the suggestion. I've been reading about it online. There seems to be some controversy about it, but I don't know enough about it to be for or against it. I saw a psychologist on youtube recently, who said that many Chinese parents had contacted her about their children who had joined FG, and said they were concerned that it was a cult. But like I said, I don't know enough about it to make judgements.
The world has many LIES about Falun Gong. I've met 2 Europeans who thought it was a cult. But when I talked to them about it, they didn't know anything about it.
*
TRUTH, COMPASSION and TOLERANCE is a short summary of what FG is about. Its sad that very few people outside china know that.
Perhaps you are right. But personally, I think that a tradition in greater need of revival would be Confucianism, since it lead to the greatest period of prosperity for China. The CCP seems to increasingly adopt Confucian concepts such as the "harmonious society".
Confucius taught fine arts such as calligraphy and music to aspiring government officials. These set standards for the rest of the population to produce fine quality work, rather than low quality, cheap products.
Being based on ancient Chinese traditions, FG probably appealed in particular to the Chinese. When I lived in China, I would often see people practicing dance or exercises in groups in the early morning.
Though it may be beneficial to one's health, it would probably reach only a limited number in the west, like yoga, etc., because people are more occupied with other things.
In my country spiritual people seem to flock to Christianity, perhaps because it is so predominant. And you have to like the idea that your sins will be forgiven. Committed Christians seem to find Falun Gong hard to accept, because the teachings of Master Li are quite different to Jesus.
There is a communication problem because it is difficult for Chinese to learn English and vice versa. If you can't speak english its hard for you to speak Falun Gong in an English speaking country.
If you were in China after 1999 you missed out on seeing a massive spiritual movement expanding.
Falun Gong practice sites were all over the place.
You would have known about FG if you'd seen it.

But since 1999 the @EVIL communist party has been spreading LIES and propaganda about Falun Gong, which many people have been taken in by, just like their LIES and propaganda about Tibet.
Do you think it is the CCP as an entity in itself that is evil, or do you think every single member is evil? The CCP people that I knew were all quite nice actually.
As a friend of mine said, the communist party is the largest criminal organisation in the world. I've met CCP members. One guy admitted he was a member for financial reasons.
A CCP member I got to know fairly well was a guy who made MANY comments against Tibet on youtube, not long after I got interested in youtube. After I told him about the Middle Way Approach he stopped writing comments. I guess he realised that he'd been lied to by the party he paid a portion of his salary to.
It's hard to reconcile the thought that the CCP is completely evil with the fact that even the world bank recognizes that it has brought over 100 million rural people out of poverty.
I believe that hate mongering against an entire people is evil. For thousands of years, empires have manipulated people into wars against each other through hate mongering. If kept up, this will likely result in world war three some day.
All the CCP did was open the economy. China has a massive pool of cheap labour. Things had to improve after decades of stupid communism. Anyone who has studied economics will knows that.
China should have ideally continued with the policies of Sun Yat Sen, while the US should have continued Franklin Roosevelt's policies towards China, which was to use the US manufacturing capacity, after WWII, to provide products for the development of infrastructure to China and to other 3rd world countries.
If the current economic collapse continues, all countries of the world will enter a new dark age. Agreements between the major countries of the world - US, China, Russia and India will be necessary to reorganize the currently bankrupt global financial system. The global oligarchs who want financial collapse promote hate mongering against China in the media to prevent this from happening.
I respect that guy even though he was writing anti-tibet stuff because as soon as he realised he'd been lied to he stopped writing. Other people who write anti-Tibet comments on youtube don't want to have a debate and prove that many CCP supporters have very little intelligence or pride.
A very good FG friend of mine was a CCP member. When he came to NZ he realised there was a much better way than a TOTALITARIAN govt.
If you knowingly support evil I don't think that makes you a good person.
It is not hard to believe that FG practitioners have been killed and tortured in prison. If it was on as massive a scale as you suggest, I think I would have heard more about it in the mainstream media.
1. Mainstream media are NOT going to be allowed into Labour Camps where Falun Gong practitioners are being held in China.
2. It seems that since the original investigation into the Persecution of Falun Gong was done, the communist party has got a bit smarter about covering up @LIVE Organ Harvesting.
3. Media are often concerned with what happens in their countries or the implications that international events have for their countries.
External markets are intrinsically unreliable. China is learning this the hard way, as the western economies collapse. What can you do if your main customer chooses to self-destruct?
The key now is a bankruptcy reorganization of the global financial system, the outlawing of predatory finance, replacing the for-profit central banks with non profit development banks which would provide long term credit for economic development projects at low interest rates.
Atrocities are probably happening in the prisons of most countries in the world. I certainly would not want to be in a US prison. Imagine though if the Chinese came and did some investigative reporting on US prison conditions and published some major media about it in China to generate hatred and possibly start a war with the US.
You say the Dalai Lama does not want the independence of Tibet from China, so it can't be too bad there.
HHDL is trying to rescue Tibetan culture before it is wiped out in Tibet. He's trying to make progress.
*
You haven't watched any videos which show the TRUTH about how bad things are. Reading that someone was @tortured is one thing. Listening to a first hand account is another thing altogether.
I've seen Tibet supporters get quite upset after watching Tibet videos.
*
I'm no expert on East Turkestan, but there are videos I can watch.
I was a supporter of Tibetan independence for over 20 years and had read much of their literature. I really feel sorry for the people who were tortured.
However, I gradually realized that Tibetan Buddhism, pre 1950's, looked very much like a dangerous cult. It's leader's claimed to be "god-kings", who owned thousands of their own people as serfs or slaves. Superstition and demon worship were rampant in Tibetan society, rendering it one of the world's most backward nations.
Tibet leaders cut Tibet off from the rest of the world. Which means you miss out on trading opportunities and tourism. Communist countries have found out that having a closed economy leads to poverty.
*
HHDL doesn't want Tibet to be cut off from the rest of the world. Tibetans wouldn't want that now anyway.
*
Master Li said words to the effect that Christianity, Judaism and Buddhism were orthodox religions and good for improving moral values. Zhuan Falun has many interesting things.
Did you know that the Czech President Vaclav Klaus had warned US congressmen that he believes that environmental extremism is the modern equivalent of communism? This line of reasoning contends that environmentalism like communism uses appealing ideas for intentions that are actually nefarious.
For example, that denying countries like China the right to develop, because it would be environmentally harmful, is actually intended to produce famine in those countries.
The communist party is poisoning its own citizens by allowing all sorts of things to happen that wouldn't happen in a civilized country.
Yes China is going electric, but most of the worst polluted cities are in China. When there is a fire, firefighters suffer from smoke inhalation. I experienced that in the past going out cycling on a night where pollution was extremely high. But at least some people in my city are doing something about it and air pollution in chch in winter is falling
China became the factory of the world by adopting the western policies of globalization. This is also the primary factor that contributed to the rich becoming richer and the poor poorer in China.
It's trying to move away from this economic model by diversifying its economy.
Sadly the evil CCP hasn't adopted a floating currency.
*
The reason there is a gap between rich and poor in china is because the poor have no say as in don't get to vote. Anyone who copies CCP propaganda isn't supporting democracy, but @REPRESSION.
The worst threat to the poor of China, and every where, is the financial collapse of the west. If the west goes down, it will drag the whole world down into a new dark age.
The @EVIL communist party fixes its exchange rate artificially low which makes it harder for poor countries to develop and creates global instability. You have to look at the big picture.
Why would the stability of the Chinese currency contribute to global instability? I think the stability of the Chinese currency is one of the few factors keeping the global economy stable.
There is no need for a US debt to China, because China wants to buy many industrial products from the US to develop its infrastructure. The US could get rich selling these products to China. But the global financial oligarchs want to collapse the global economy and reduce the world population to 2 billion or less, so this is not allowed.
Other countries should focus on developing their internal markets and only think about exports as a small fraction of their economies.
The trade imbalance could be ended quite rapidly if the US sold to China the goods it needs.
Those countries need to DEVELOP their internal markets. Franklin Roosevelt's objective after WWII was to use the US's manufacturing capacity to export machinery to poor nations so that they could develop more rapidly. They would have been granted loans for this equipment at 2% over a period of 50 years. The development of these countries would allow them to pay these loans.
Tibet's gross domestic product had increased from 174 million RMB (26.24 million U.S. dollars) to 44.1 billion RMB (6.65 billion dollars) between 1959 and 2009.
Apart from the economic increase, Tibet had also made great progress in education, technology, medical health and cultural protection, Pubu said.
With the help and support of the central Chinese government and the Chinese people, Tibet would surely build a more brilliant future, he said.
@HumanRightsVideosT According to Michael Parenti in Friendly Feudalism (online) Tibetan monasteries were also forts or power bases for the Tibetan oligarchy under the regime of lamas. The high lamas and nobles made up about 5% of the Tibetan population and owned the other 95% as slaves or serfs. In the monasteries, young boys were commonly forced to become monks and serve as sex slave for the higher ups. China had to put an end to this, so monasteries could not be used for these purposes.
@HumanRightsVideos Injustices are still committed in China as they are everywhere in the world. Did you hear the one about the rabbis harvesting organs in New Jersey?
However, the Chinese government has brought hundreds of millions of people out of poverty in the last fifty years. I don't know of another government in the world that has done so much for its poor. What did the lamas do to help poor Tibetans in old Tibet? Mainly advised them to suffer in silence for the sins of their past lives.
@HumanRightsVideosT They would be fed you say? To whom? A letter from a government official in old Tibet, kept in Lhasa archives, indicates the requirements of a Buddhist ceremony:
"Between the years of 1958 and 1959 in Lhasa in one monastery alone, to chant scriptures a supervisor requested 27 people, 6 skulls, 4 thigh bones, a whole skin of a human, remains of a dead person, 14 bundles of human intestines, 8 slabs of human meat, and 9 vases of human blood." Such practices had to be ended.
@HumanRightsVideosT I think that the history of the Tibetan Buddhists in exile is not at all what you think. I used to believe in "Free Tibet" until I read more scholarly research on this topic, by American professors, not the Chinese government. Look up Professor Michael Parenti's website "Friendly Feudalism" online, which will tell you that Tibetan lamas were quite active in wars against each other, and that torture applied to the lower classes was not uncommon in their society.
I had a look at Parenti's website a long time ago. Unfortunately he seems to fail to acknowledge that cultural genocide that's happened in Tibet since the communist invasion. So Parenti's opinions about Tibet have no credibility in my opinion.
@HumanRightsVideosT So what do you want for Tibet? The Chinese invest hundreds of millions of yuan in Tibet each year. Do you want them to just take their money and go?
The communists took most of the gold and sliver statues from the monasteries and melted them down. Many trees were cut down. HHDL is only asking for meaningful autonomy. If Tibetans had meaningful autonomy no doubt they would be much happier that they are now.
Similarly Falun Gong should be free to practice their beliefs in China.
@HumanRightsVideosT Meaningful autonomy - what does that mean? Tibet is an autonomous region, people there are free to practice their religion from what I see.
Many westerners are now visiting Tibet, some of them have changed their opinions completely after seeing how good life is for the people there and have posted videos about it on Youtube. Have you seen them? I lived in China for a year myself. Do you plan to visit Tibet?
@HumanRightsVideosT Democracy can be a mixed blessing. In the US, we have democracy, but our economy is in a crisis. We have zero or negative growth, while the Tibetan economy is growing at about 13%. Neo-imperialists are using democracy to suck America dry, and I don't think China wants to allow that to happen there.
It is Corporate America. The richest people save cost by out sourcing to other countries, so they can sell you back the same product at the same price but lower overhead. Making A LOT more profit.
Blame the awesome democratic system with non-voters, clueless voters, Hollywood voters, brainwashed voters, cool student voters, word of mouth voters, and more... voting for dirty politicians.
China is a dictatorship that is committing genocide in Tibet. Tibet has been free for centuries. It's about time rest of the world woke up and face up to world wide threats from china, a fascist dictatorship.
Stop buying chinese goods, and stop financing this brutal fsacist killing machine.
Borcott chinese goods NOW. for the sake if Tibet and the World.
China will never, ever, give up Tibet. It is too important geographically. No country will go to war against China for Tibetan independence. If you put Dalai Lama back in charge, that is supporting theocracy, where the name of god can be used to define justice and prosecution. If you are not born into nobility, you are simply a serf or slave. Modern day 'labor workers.'
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is supporting a modern democratic Tibetan autonomy. You information about Tibet is totally wrong. Please learn about Tibet and bringthe lying CCP propaganda to an end.
Just like a dirty politician in the modern democratic system that will say ANYTHING to get him / her the vote.
LOL, the modern democratic system in Tibet, a place that is rooted with religious followers and now they will get the opportunity to vote, in a modern democratic system. And they will make these votes with modern understanding of government functions. And they will know every thing on the ballots and every one will vote.
Major Chinese media outlets have planned 60th Anniverary historical retrospectives.
The Great Starvation, which claimed 36 million lives, and the crushing of democracy moves within the party, both resulted from the political madness of the Lushan Conference. Neither the Starvation nor Lushan are mentioned once.
In a moment of high spectacle, we have struck a new low. This side-stepping of major episodes in China's history does significant damage to? the credibility of China's media.
You have to give Mao credit for keeping the world population down. But judging on what happened to my grandmother starvation isn't a good way to die.
*
I don't think they give Peace Prizes for starving 36 million people, well not yet anyway. But wait I forgot about the other victims of the @EVIL communist @CULT
But anyways sadly I don't think Mao will be in heaven now.
Fucking Schell! Did you raise your voice when the Chinese daily abuse the Dalai Lama? He and many others in the American academy are Chinese useful idiots.
So Mr. Schell, you want the Tibetans to just lay down and receive it from the Chinese forever? Is it the exile tibetans fault that there is no negotiations? Is some harsh words more alarming to you than actual killing of Tibetans by the CHinese people?
It's alarming that people like you are in the position you are in. Exile Tibetans are becoming extreme? What extreme thing did they do?
so it is alarming that the Dalai Lama use some harsh words against the chinese government who is killing Tibetans. The killing of Tibetans by the Chinesea re not considered alarming or even extreme? What are you Mr. Schell? A shell?
It is the communists dogs who lend hundreds of billions of dollars to stimulate our economy, and in turn helps the world to recover. Maybe we should learn something from them.
Tibetan are asking independence under the disguise of autonomy. This is just the general working of politics- you have to make yourself appear to be wanting something to get something else.
Dalai Lama didn't seem to be so peaceful 50 years ago, he just killed whoever he wanted when he was in power. now that he's out of power and become the underdog he now acts like the victim.
Tibetan are asking Autonomy, that doesn't means they are asking for Independence, this Demand are Reasonable. Asking for genuine and meaningful autonomy for whole TIBET.
Tibetan Gov. in Exile want to relive their Culture Autonomy for Whole Tibetan.
Beijing needs to recognize the legitimacy of the Tibetan people's aspiration to protect the integrity of their language, culture and identity. Greater religious freedom is also crucial, including allowing Tibetans to again display images of the Dalai Lama in their homes. Free Tibet and long live the Dalai Lama!! May all his wishes quickly be achieved.
It seems one valuable outcome of the Dalai Lamas plight is that destiny has called upon him and all great teachers of Tibet to teach to a global audience now. As if to duplicate Tibet all around the world in order to multiply it. I myself have benefited from the Dalai Lamas teachings of peace and truth, just as I have the examples of the monks and families who follow him. The truth always finds a way to the light.
@HumanRightsVideosT Yes, the Oracle is reported to also have been the way the DL recieved confirmation that the CIA deal had been accepted in India, and Dharmasala wouls in fact be "given" to the DL. The man behind the Oracle reportedly also worked with the CIA.

Atrocities happen in Tibet and China.
Do you think that Tibet is part of China ??
because many people have been fooled into thinking that.
That is probably the underlying cause of people supporting the @EVIL communist party
rather than Tibetans struggle for freedom.
HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT
Atrocities are probably happening in the prisons of most countries in the world. I certainly would not want to be in a US prison. Imagine though if the Chinese came and did some investigative reporting on US prison conditions and published some major media about it in China to generate hatred and possibly start a war with the US.
You say the Dalai Lama does not want the independence of Tibet from China, so it can't be too bad there.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
@jimgzorn
There are NO political prisoners in NZ.
HHDL is trying to rescue Tibetan culture before it is wiped out in Tibet. He's trying to make progress.

HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT
Superstition and demon worship were rampant in Tibetan society, rendering it one of the world's most backward nations.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
@jimgzorn

Did you know that the Czech President Vaclav Klaus had warned US congressmen that he believes that environmental extremism is the modern equivalent of communism? This line of reasoning contends that environmentalism like communism uses appealing ideas for intentions that are actually nefarious.
For example, that denying countries like China the right to develop, because it would be environmentally harmful, is actually intended to produce famine in those countries.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
@jimgzorn
China became the factory of the world by adopting the western policies of globalization. This is also the primary factor that contributed to the rich becoming richer and the poor poorer in China.
It's trying to move away from this economic model by diversifying its economy.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
@jimgzorn
Sadly the evil CCP hasn't adopted a floating currency.
*
The reason there is a gap between rich and poor in china is because the poor have no say as in don't get to vote. Anyone who copies CCP propaganda isn't supporting democracy, but @REPRESSION.
HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
The worst threat to the poor of China, and every where, is the financial collapse of the west. If the west goes down, it will drag the whole world down into a new dark age.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
The @EVIL communist party fixes its exchange rate artificially low which makes it harder for poor countries to develop and creates global instability. You have to look at the big picture.
HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT
Why would the stability of the Chinese currency contribute to global instability? I think the stability of the Chinese currency is one of the few factors keeping the global economy stable.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
@jimgzorn
The @EVIL CCP party fixing its exchange rate artificially low
1. undercuts other countries who are exporting the same types of goods that china is.
2. makes it harder for businesses in other countries to enter the markets china is in.
3. Generates huge surpluses for china.
4. Those surpluses got lent to the US which helped create unsustainable debt levels in the US. Which is where the global crisis came from.
Too much debt = instability
HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT
There is no need for a US debt to China, because China wants to buy many industrial products from the US to develop its infrastructure. The US could get rich selling these products to China. But the global financial oligarchs want to collapse the global economy and reduce the world population to 2 billion or less, so this is not allowed.
Other countries should focus on developing their internal markets and only think about exports as a small fraction of their economies.
jimgzorn 9 months ago
@jimgzorn
There is a massive trade imbalance and it will continue as long as the @EVIL communist party fixes its exchange rate artificially low.
*
Why should other countries focus on internal markets ?? That's why china was so poor.
If a country is really poor the local market will probably be limited.
HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT

Have you watched Dispatches undercover in tibet now ?
HumanRightsVideosT 9 months ago
Tibet's gross domestic product had increased from 174 million RMB (26.24 million U.S. dollars) to 44.1 billion RMB (6.65 billion dollars) between 1959 and 2009.
Apart from the economic increase, Tibet had also made great progress in education, technology, medical health and cultural protection, Pubu said.
With the help and support of the central Chinese government and the Chinese people, Tibet would surely build a more brilliant future, he said.
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
Did the "cultural protection" include the wrecking of 6000 Tibetan monasteries since the invasion of Tibet in 1950 ?
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT According to Michael Parenti in Friendly Feudalism (online) Tibetan monasteries were also forts or power bases for the Tibetan oligarchy under the regime of lamas. The high lamas and nobles made up about 5% of the Tibetan population and owned the other 95% as slaves or serfs. In the monasteries, young boys were commonly forced to become monks and serve as sex slave for the higher ups. China had to put an end to this, so monasteries could not be used for these purposes.
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
Tibetans got rid of the death penalty in 1913.
In 2011 you can have your organs harvested in China by the communist party, without committing a crime.
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideos Injustices are still committed in China as they are everywhere in the world. Did you hear the one about the rabbis harvesting organs in New Jersey?
However, the Chinese government has brought hundreds of millions of people out of poverty in the last fifty years. I don't know of another government in the world that has done so much for its poor. What did the lamas do to help poor Tibetans in old Tibet? Mainly advised them to suffer in silence for the sins of their past lives.
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
No harvesting of organs of Falun Gong practitioners or torture happens in New Zealand where I live.
If tibetans were poor they could send their sons to the monastery and they would be fed.
Starvation never happened in Tibet before the communist invasion in 1949-50.
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT They would be fed you say? To whom? A letter from a government official in old Tibet, kept in Lhasa archives, indicates the requirements of a Buddhist ceremony:
"Between the years of 1958 and 1959 in Lhasa in one monastery alone, to chant scriptures a supervisor requested 27 people, 6 skulls, 4 thigh bones, a whole skin of a human, remains of a dead person, 14 bundles of human intestines, 8 slabs of human meat, and 9 vases of human blood." Such practices had to be ended.
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
Unlike the communist party Buddhists don't believe in killing living beings.
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT I think that the history of the Tibetan Buddhists in exile is not at all what you think. I used to believe in "Free Tibet" until I read more scholarly research on this topic, by American professors, not the Chinese government. Look up Professor Michael Parenti's website "Friendly Feudalism" online, which will tell you that Tibetan lamas were quite active in wars against each other, and that torture applied to the lower classes was not uncommon in their society.
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
I had a look at Parenti's website a long time ago. Unfortunately he seems to fail to acknowledge that cultural genocide that's happened in Tibet since the communist invasion. So Parenti's opinions about Tibet have no credibility in my opinion.
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT So what do you want for Tibet? The Chinese invest hundreds of millions of yuan in Tibet each year. Do you want them to just take their money and go?
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT Meaningful autonomy - what does that mean? Tibet is an autonomous region, people there are free to practice their religion from what I see.
Many westerners are now visiting Tibet, some of them have changed their opinions completely after seeing how good life is for the people there and have posted videos about it on Youtube. Have you seen them? I lived in China for a year myself. Do you plan to visit Tibet?
jimgzorn 10 months ago
@jimgzorn
Meaningful autonomy for Tibetans basically means democracy for Tibet within China not independence.
The number of monks in Tibetan monasteries is control by the CCP.
If Tibetans in Tibet speak out risk getting in trouble.
The 48 minute documentary "Dispatches Undercover in Tibet" shows the true situation in Tibet.
HumanRightsVideosT 10 months ago
@HumanRightsVideosT Democracy can be a mixed blessing. In the US, we have democracy, but our economy is in a crisis. We have zero or negative growth, while the Tibetan economy is growing at about 13%. Neo-imperialists are using democracy to suck America dry, and I don't think China wants to allow that to happen there.

Gia4152008 2 years ago
Ok let's be honest. The CIA paid the Dalai Lama $180,000 to leave Tibet in 1959.
Neither the Dalai Lama not the US cared about the Tibetan people. 95% of whom were either serfs or slaves.
The CIA and the Dalai Lama engaged in violence against China, trying to incite "uprisings" which failed. After all, who wants to be a serf or slave.
Both the US and China value seperation of church and state.
China set March 28, as serf emancipation day.
So why didn't the Dalai Lama apologise?
