can somebody on here tell me why in a musical open forms why do people focus so much on flips and gymnastic moves,,, arent we martial artist, what happn to the sole purpose of what martial arts is,people focus on non martial art moves and have very por strikes, thats jus my opion,, and yes i kno with out those flips and stuff u score low on the cards,

fasho. The performing martial arts and competition have evolved over time. If you look up oldskoolkarate, you can probably find some old videos that satisfy your need to see more traditional techniques in musical open forms. There are so many different divisions on the national sport karate circuit now that caters to all types of forms, whether it is traditional, creative or extreme. Also, not all musical open forms focus on flips and gymnastics.

Well what they have is different divisions this is musical ou can do whatever you want traditional or anything just has to be choreographed to the music and the point of the flips and stuff to me is that you can learn to control your body and to show how much control you have.
