  • excellent footage

  • Could someone tell me the name of the other musicians?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Horace Silver should get a medal of honor for his many years of marvelous music! He is ill these days from what I hear, and I sure wish he got the recognition he richly deserves. His music takes up LOTS of real estate in my brain... Thanks so much for posting this creative master.

  • Oh yeah! I like! :-D

  • bass player?

  • @doc21tem You called? I'm ready and willing. :-)

  • This guy just brings you down..he works so hard, with so much feel. You have to love him for his total ability to make you want to listen to what he has to say, which is a hell of a lot in my book. His sidemen always seem to agree. Thanks for this one.

  • Fluid like water, I LOVE the simplicity of Horace's solos, they cascade through me like a waterfall! More love and respect to my mentor and friend, living legend, Horace Silver!

  • thanks for this post. Uplifting!

  • Horace Silver is AMAZING! I play several of his compositions. What a great writer and musician. Having met him, he is so very humble. Thanks for posting.

  • i think this is the song from where steely dan to the lick for ricky dont lose that number

  • it is, at least according to the brian sweet bio. all hail!

  • thats the ticket

  • So what happened to "Song for My Father?" Let alone "Song for Mij Father!" At least let's hear the theme.

  • @Gruntol5 YEEEES

  • Recorded at the North Sea Jazz Festival, The Hague, Netherlands, 1994. Bass Player is Bob Maize, not Walter Maize. Drummer is Sherman Ferguson.

  • Luv ya Horace, but this doesn't sound anything like "song for my father" .....????

  • It's the solo!

  • yea of course but I never knew he did a one chord vamp on this solo. I would have much rather heard the changes here. Still pretty cool.

  • I remember my Father playing his music years ago, i never took on board until now the absolute joy it brought him, thanks for the clip excellent!
