  • Hahaha good job brother.

  • looks like Woody Allen

  • that's 3d glasses, plastic lens :D

  • dam!!! dead on

  • Which Software did you use? Where can I download it?

  • Ha thanks guys.. Yea this was actually one of the first mudbox sculpts I created.. It has a few imperfections :P

  • it's better that the one in the film. Good work

  • Looks like he will eat you.

  • em.. do you ever have seen an ear? haha what is that? is like deformed mesh with the appearance of an ear... the rest is ok... try to apply subsurface scattering.

  • The angle of refraction on the glasses make the eyes look a bit wierd. other than that it's amazing.

  • that is really amazing!! good work, i always use zbrush, maya, and 3ds max to do my models, i should play around with mudbox sometime haha really cool man :)

  • its robert deniro in 20 years..

  • @IAOfilms ha.. it's robert deniro now

  • @Mgibson711 HAHAHA

  • @Mgibson711 more like Scorsese! ha

  • Mr. Fredrickson comes in mcdonalds all the time

  • God modelled him much better! I saw that guy in reallife in Brussels.

  • hey there, you got a very awesome work here! :D I am new in mudbox, i wanna ask something, if I paint my model in mudbox, how can I export the object and also all the paint layer to 3ds max as uv map? thx a lot! :D

  • @TaraArtsMovie Thanks! Well, first you have to make sure the model has been uv unwrapped. That way, the paint has its coordinates. The default mudbox sculpts should have them already. Once things are ready to export, it should be as simple as right clicking the paint layers and exporting them to photoshop, where you can save it in whatever format you'd like. But exporting the object and the paint layers are different steps. Good luck!

  • @Mgibson711 yes to export object is from files - export as obj. right? owh so you just have to right click and and send to photoshop!! I didn't know that!! haha XD thanks so much for the help! :D

  • looks like the old guy of UP

  • @HulkyDesigns Uhm, that IS the old man in Up. The video is even called "Realistic Mr. Fredrickson".

  • But your work makes up for it...:)

  • wow...your site sure is crappy.

  • I'm new to Mudbox and it's capabilities with 3ds max... I made a model with a high amount of faces (I don't recall what level I went up to, but if I remember I had over 200,000 faces). After I made the model in mudbox, I got an Fbx plugin and exported it as an fbx file and then opened it 3ds max... I then wanted to add hair, but I get a message about it's polygons and then 3ds max goes unresponsive... how do you make your model work with the hair and fur function?

  • @angelofkils101

Well there are a few options you have. As for the hair and fur modifier, if you apply it to something with a ton of polies it will murder your computer most likely. To avoid this you can select the faces on your model (it needs to be an editable poly) copy them (hold shift and move down) and then apply the hair and fur modifier to that. You can group the hair to the head. You might want to consider exporting a normal map and lower level model of you guy.

  • @angelofkils101

You can also actually export your model from mudbox without a plugin. You would select the model from the opjects list on the right and then head to file> export selection. You can export as FBX or I like to use OBJ

  • ok, cool. Thanks a lot! I love this picture! Already shared it with a couple o people... Good Job!

  • I'm new to Mudbox, and I can't seem to figure how to make hair... :/ I can tell you know how to make it, may you please tell me or give me some pointers?

  • @AviontWorks

Well Mudbox actually doesn't have any way to make hair unless you sculpt it in. I originally created the head of this model in Mudbox and then exported it as an .OBJ file and imported it into 3ds Max. From there I added just the standard hair and fur modifier and used the tools to style it.
