i wrote the lyrics for my friend matthew, who has since passed away, barrett yeretsian and i co-wrote the melody for beat&path - long before aviatic was even a band. aviatic covered the song, with my permission and blessings. sebu simonian DID NOT WRITE this song. he SANG it with the band aviatic. sebu is a fine songwriter in his own right, and also a friend of mine, he wrote other songs for aviatic, but not this one. barrett produced and drums in both versions.

I still Love Aviatic's version .. and my teacher's son is Sebu Simonian (the pianist) and she always plays the rehearsal tracks and the original songs on while we do our classwork and when you play the song BY AVIATIC and this so called "my song" together .. There is NO DIFFERENCE!

the reason there is NO DIFFERENCE between the piano parts on the two songs is because it is the SAME EXACT RECORDING of the piano part (played by barrett yeretsian, NOT sebu simonian). the only parts that are different on the two published recordings are the vocals, bass, drums and guitar. sebu does play the piano part when AVIATIC performs "goodbye beautiful day" live. and we're all good friends so no worries regardless. glad you dig the song. please tell sebu's mom hi for me. ; )
