This is the darkest scariest Godzilla movie. It has a dark gritty theme and style. It scared me when I was little but I loved it lol. It was also the first Godzilla movie I ever saw around 1996 or so when I was little. I think it's the best one honestly.
we can only wait till 2012 release date to see the new godzilla, god i really hope they dont fuck it up, if they do it right we might get a really good godzilla movie.
This movie had an AMAZING fucking Score, Truly powerful in between this an when Godzilla falls into the Volcano is epic. This film along with Godzilla vs Biollante are amazing.
I really hope they learned there lesson from the 98 disaster an in the ''Reboot for 2012'' release will be a lot better, have the real Godzilla, an a great score. I say get some John Williams on that. (Jaws an Jurassic park) example's.
Can't wait for the American Reboot by Legendary Pictures!
Where can you find the soundtrack or original score on CD? I swear I have looked everywhere. It is such an ominous sounding soundtrack. If anyone knows where to get it, plz msg me.
Yeah. I don't know if you heard about the possibility of Legendary Pictures taking on the classic Godzilla for an American film or not. Hopefully, they can give us a Godzilla like that again. =)
Yeah. Classic as in Japanese, but who knows what incarnation they'll use. Hopefully, we'll get Godzilla back in his former glory as a big screen terror! =D
No doubt. Personally, I'd like to see them do what they did for G84 and use a big anamatronic puppet combined with suit work and use CGI only when it's necessary.
I'd Say That This Is A Revenge Movie,Cuz Godzilla Wants Payback From His Death Before The Events Of This Movie. So,It Makes A Really Good Sequel To The Original. :)
this was the only godzilla movie besides the remake to scare me. *NOTE* i saw this when i was 2 and the remake i saw it when i was 3. IN THE THEATRES! so if your going to call me a pussy remember i was still a toddler when i became interested in these movies.
The soundtrack for Gojira 1984 has got to be amongst Forbidden Planet, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Terminator, Blade Runner, Halloween III Season of the Witch (I admit I'm a synth geek), and the original 1954 Gojira one of the finest things on Earth!
In the newer flicks, G. looks best (and meanest) in Godzilla Vs. Biollante (the direct sequel to this film), Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidora: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (tusks and fuckin' WHITE eyeballs--WICKED--directed by the new Gamera series director Shusuke Kaneko) , and Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla 3/Godzilla: Tokyo SOS. I loved the look of those G's even more than the 'Final Wars' G. Check THOSE flicks out if any of you haven't already seen 'em!
I remember a picture on a Godzilla site somewhere that showed a closeup of the Big G's face from this movie, where he was looking straight into the camera and looked like he was mugging for it; and the caption read "Gamera's a wuss and I'm here to prove it." Oh man, to me, that was classic-- Godzilla has always managed to look scary and threatening, or at the very least intimidating, and Gamera to me never has quite managed that.
Man, WHAT is taking the Toho people and our distribution people so FUCKING long to get the original Japanese version of this movie released here; I'm so sick of the New World dubbed version, I want to see the original one!
There has been no DVD release as of yet. You might be able to find 'Godzilla Returns' (which has the UK dubbing) But There are some kind of issues with New World Productions still owning the rights to '85, but New World has long since folded. But from what I understand, no one can yet claim the US rights for it.
1998's "Godzilla" should have followed the formula of this movie. The Zilla, design wasn't that bad actually, what really messed up that movie was too much joking around, no sense of danger, a bad script, and no Godzilla death ray. I mean, come on. How can you have Godzilla without his death ray?!
kinda confusing, if it was 1985 30 years after he appeared that would trace back to 1955 godzilla raids again. but the movie was made in 1984. but on the trailer it says he was born in 1956 very confusing
allow me to explain. The Japanese version of the first Godzilla film took place in 1954, the Americanized version (Godzilla: King of the Monsters) took place in 1956. The Japanese version of Godzilla 1985 takes place in 1984 (thus, 30 years after the first film). The Americanized version of Godzilla 1985 (taking place in 1985) makes a lot of sloppy mistakes and unnecessary changes. Basically, there's two versions to both the first film and this one and only the Japanese versions truly corelate.
good answer bro you know you some godzilla and also from my understanding the second movie is really called godzilla raids again but some dumbass in the american version calls it gigantis the fire monster
i gotta say this was the scariest of the godzilla mask. i didnt like the 1984 remake. reminded me to much of the 1976 remake of kong. i say toho should remake godzilla
This is from Godzilla 1985. Saw it in theatres when it first came out. It was a direct sequel to the original Godzilla. It even had Raymond Burr reprising his role. I remember the scenes. For some reason the soundtrack has always stayed with me.
Godzilla 1985 was hads down the best Godzilla movie, my dad recorded it on HBO when I was little, but my younger sister destroyed it when we were lil. I still remember the opening theme...god I love that movie.
I find that the best place to get Godzilla movies is FYE. Best Buy has some but FYE is the way to go if your looking in stores.
The best way overall is the internet. But Godzilla 1985 and Godzilla vs. Biollante are owned by a different company than Classic Media so you can only find those on VHS
What I do not understand is why they never re-released this or Godzilla vs Biollante on DVD. This movie is one of the best of all time. The music is epic, the emotion is palpable. One day, could Toho wake up and re-release these 2 gems.
awesome vid love the music has to be my favorite been collecting the new toho released versions of the godzilla films but does anyone know a site where i can download this movie since i no longer have a vcr for my vhs version :(
I love this movie. This movie stand out of all godzilla movies. This movie to me is more realistic and a darker side of godzilla. And this is a dark movie as well.
