Charter has put more pressure in my life than anything. I do stuff for school on here, my Father has to do stuff for his work on the internet, and I have friends I communicate through VOIP. This internet ALWAYS NEVER load web pages; you've gotta be lucky. When it works, it works great. When it doesn't; your screwed.

I've been calling them TWICE a day for all my problems. And still, no repairs done, where ever there might never be repaired to this disgusting, sick, and painful company.

I have charter, and for some reason a couple times per day the internet will just completely break for anywhere from 1 minute to, well it's been broken overnight before. There is simply no signal, the send and receive lights on my router do not flash at all for the duration. Anybody else ever have this problem, and is it preventable?

@hawkman8706 Yes; this is just what I have problems with. This has been going on over here for 5 YEARS. It's pretty much useless. But, my family is a brick wall with not getting DSL. Because they think it's 'slow' and 'does the same as Charter'. They need to can that up and throw it away. Ugh.

when Charter reps start going door to door in apartment complexes past seven at night and fail to answer from behind a closed door, then here is my advice: Report them to the police as a non-emergency even if it turns out they are legit. That is what happened to me. I Charter or independent reps have resorted to nightly tactics, it is a matter of time before one of those dickheads gets shot especially when don't answer you after asking a question 3 times behind close doors.

Lighten up. Some cities only have ONE cable company to deal with. While competetion would be good, we only have one provider, the rest is still DSL or dialup. When Charter works it works very well. I think a little more fine tuning of their customer service, and more reliability will go far to gain more customers. But if they screw their customers, they are on their way out. No way to run a business.

@watcher, I'm going to interject here about Charter because one of their indy reps came up to my door two nights ago and ID'd himself as a rep. I verified who he was the next morning however he wasn't suppose to be going door to door in my complex.  Long story short he failed to answer three times as to what he wanted from behind a closed door so I reported suspicious activity to the police, Charter, and my leasing office the next morning. Hope that rep learned his lesson. Fuck Charter.

Hi shaithis45, I agree with you , if someone like that came around here, not only would he have to deal with the dogs, but Id call the cops too. NO one should be going door to door that time of night.,And when they didn't ID themselves correctly, I'd be on the phone to the PD. My main point was not really to defend charter, but for us here, it's the only cable offered. This coming year we hear another cable co will be coming in. charter is way faster than any phone line network high speed or not. not to mention the conveniance of wireless home networks. i used to hate dragging that damn wire around all the time with my laptop. now i don't have too. charter rocks!!!

Cable may be fast but it doesn't make up for poor customer service. That's why I'm a former Charter customer and currently use DSL.

Charter is garbage. They have the worst cable service of all the companies I have ever used. They have constant outages and I constant problems with the service. I recommend satellite if faced with Charter. And Charter is the only time I've recommended satellite over cable.
