Marc was very green here. Mero worked out at a gym with WCW jobbers Rick Ryder and Bob Cook and asked if he come come along for the ride next time they do job matches. He was introduced to Dusty and was used in a tag team match vs Doom. He got $150 per match. Mero only had a handful of matches before his run as Johnny B. Badd. He was 31 when he made his pro wrestling debut. He went from digging swimming pools to WCW Superstar! He was also Wrestling Observer and PWI Rookie of The Year in 1991.

@Mrbaltimore2001 Hopefully WWE will put him in alongside the other WCW/NWA alums. The rumored class would include The Steiners, The Road Warriors, and Sting as well. While all these guys, except for Sting of course, were in WWE/F at some point, they made their names in WCW/NWA. So if he does get in, it will liely be part of that group of guys. He certainly deserves it.

@bonesaw08 Nash...not so much. In fact, the box offices, buy rates, and ratings numbers all fell significantly when Nash began pushing himself in 1998. Pretty much everybody points to the night Nash pinned Wrath cleanly as the beginning of the end for WCW's golden era of 1995-1998.

And to be fair, the few times Sid actually appeared in a main event he wasn't considered the one bringing in the gate.
