I kind of prefer their Go-Lion names rather then the ones used in Voltron because for me not being Japanese it makes seem more like it is on a different planet more so with the language. I know that the Go-Lion team are from Earth but even so...
It's funny how everyone can be from different planets and all speak the same language he,he 8)
I love Go-Lion and I love Voltron because Voltron was in my life way,way back when I was 7 years old...
I enjoyed this vid very much. Especially the fight with Lotor's clone. Very dramatic. I'm a Lotor fan, but you had me feeling the Keith love as well. :D
I don't really remember all the ones I used but from the ones I do remember they are: #2-Escape to Another Planet, #14-Yurak Gets His Pink Slip, #15-Give Me Your Princess,#21-It'll Be a Cold Day, #30-The Sleeping Princess, #36-Lotor's Clone, and #47-Summit Meeting.
You are not all to wrong. While they do clash in that episode, Keith doesn't actually Lotor in the American made version. If I remember right, it was made to look like he had but it was given that it was a false Planet Doom and nothing there was real. Keith does confront Lotor but they don't really go into a hand to hand combat and Keith escapes with the team leaving to believe Lotor is dead when he actually escaped. It is more like the Japanese version Lotor is killed by Keith.
Correction: In the Japanese version, Sven kills Lotor. Anyway, you're half-right about the final American-made episode. What happens in it is this: at the end of the previous episode Queen Merla (or however you spell her name) reforms and becomes a good guy. As a favor to her, the Voltron Force save Lotor from being literally crucified by Zarkon (seriously! Zarkon had him tied to a cross and put the cross in the Pit of Skulls!) Lotor seemed to consider reforming. (Cont'd)
Well, in the final episode (which follows the one I just summarized) Lotor goes to Queen Merla and tells her he wants to marry her. He then guides the Voltron Force to Planet Doom and personally destroys the robot platoon that attacks them. He then helps them to demolish most of the castle. They go in to capture Zarkon. Allura seems to have warmed up to Lotor and he proposes to her. She reminds him he already proposed to Merla and Lotor realizes his plan failed.
As you said, it wasn't really Planet Doom, but a fake planet that Lotor made. The whole thing was a ploy because Lotor figured that if Allura thought he'd reformed, she'd finally agree to marry him. Anyway, they go into the throne room to capture Zarkon, but it turns out to be Cossak in disguise. He and Lotor put the Voltron Force in a death trap and prepare to escape. The Voltron Force escape from the death trap and go to the Lion, but Keith goes after Lotor.
By now the fake planet has begun to self-destruct. Keith and Lotor fight and Keith severely injures Lotor and leaves him to his fate. Cossak cowardly abandons his master and gets away. The Voltron Force take over and seconds later the fake Planet Doom explodes (just like Planet Drule in the last episode of Vehicle Voltron; in fact I think they may have used stock footage from that episode in this one). At the end of the episode Zarkon calls the Voltron Force and reveals the planet was a fake.
However, there is no sign of Lotor, so as far as I'm concerned he died when the planet exploded, and if there had been one more episode after this one they could have tied up all the loose ends and given the series a definitive ending. So anyway, like I said, Keith kills Lotor and that's the only good thing about them rescuing him in the previous episode because having Lotor executed like a common criminal would be a fitting end for him--although having him fall into his own trap is good too.
I'm really not sure how to take that, but I hope it was a complement.
NOTE: Before any hardcore GoLion fans go after me, yes, I am aware that it was the younger brother of Shirogane/Sven, not Sven himself, who kills Lotor in the final episode of GoLion. But in the American version the character is supposed to be Sven, so I was just making it simpler for the guy who put this clip together.
I'm taking you meant the "Not sure how to take that" comment for the person above. I am just getting into the GoLion series so I don't quite know all the details but I am definitely liking it, sometimes even better than the American version.
I have to make a few brief corrections. I hadn't seen the episode for a while so I made some errors.
1. Keith did not "severely injure" Lotor. He knocked Lotor down just as a great big crack opened in the ground, leaving Lotor with no way to reach his ship. Keith did leave him for dead, though, so he was responsible for Lotor's demise.
2. The fake Planet Doom's explosion was original animation, not stock footage from Vehicle Voltron.
3. A typing error: It's "take off," not "take over".
PERFECT timing and emotion. I've watched your video dozens of times, so I can't believe I never commented yet. Brilliant job!

Nice video. Can't say I'm a fan of Keith, or "Quief", as I call him. Lol.

Just Out of curiosity, was Keith suppose to be afraid of Lotor at the very beginning? It was a really good video
corky4rb 2 years ago
Not really. It was meant as more of a surprise than anything.

Actually, there is one more: the final American-made episode, "Breaking Up Is Hard to Doom." Keith kills Lotor in that one.

And the "guy" who made this is actually a girl.
