@kitten882 It's actually in A minor, which uses all the same keys as C major on the keyboard, but has a 'minor' or sad quality to it rather than an uplifting or major 'quality'. Try playing chords based on the note A rather than C and you'll see what I mean. Hey, I know you posted that four years ago, but better late than never!
i was there!!!!got drum stick ,song sheet and plecky!! 17 and all i had was a bottle of southern comfort ..yuk cried like anob after. emotional stuff. probably the peak. low-life1
There was all this abuse from some of the crowd, calling names, calling them Nazis and stuff- you can just about hear some of it at the end of this video. It was the first track they did.
Bernard got really mad and smashed a glass bottle into about a billion pieces on stage. It was all a bit f***ed up really.
They did carry on though, but they were not happy.
I looked for Elegia cause I just read that New Order dedicated this song in loving memory of Ian Curtis... anybody knows if that's true? Beyond that, WOW... what a wonderful melody!
It is their best. I hadn't heard it in years until I saw the animation Rust, and I just about lost my marbles. Instrumental music can be really powerful. I'm just now noticing the triplets in the picked guitar. None of the parts are expendable. They all add to such a bleak mood. Wonder what key its in.

I concur with Wolfekeeper, it was the opener, the sound was exemplary though that may not be evident from the clip.
Never heard any of the abuse.

I saw this particular performance live.

I agree. Must be the classical nature of it.
