RAM isn't below battery, though to get the screws to open the panel that sits right above the batter (in between the two latches), then you do have to take out the battery.

@93badfingers Depends, if you got a desktop you should either upgrade the video card or the processor than the RAM.

On a laptop it would improve it a little, but if you can change the video card on your laptop you should do that :)

@MRshoz1 I think you can. I Have a macbook 2,1 from late 2006. I has a 1.83 core 2 duo and 2gb of ram and i am running snow leopard right now. Boot times are about 30 seconds so if my computer can run I think you would do just fine. :-)

It makes me laugh to be quiet honest. The herb and verg garden is a great idea. I'm deciding whether to get the 13 inch or 15 entry level. I find the 15 inch amazing and fantastic with the two graphic cards which switch automatically in case you use heavy apps, but I use the laptop mainly for web browsing, chat, emails, iTunes, watching netflix instant play. Sometimes I do a bit of video editting on iMovie. I don't like the white Macbook and the aluminum design is super nice and sturdy. What do you guys think?

There's a vent on the hinge of all MacBooks. Your right though My MBpro (the model Jon is reviewing here) gets very hot yet cools quickly, it's never overheated though.

yup.. I'm a web designer, and use this exact macbook. I run Photoshop, Illustrator, flash, and After Effects without any issues. Hell it's fast then work desktop. I would recommend though if you're planning to run bootcamp (both the mac and windows OS) to get something other then Vista basic. Basic only picks up 3GB of your ram, and that's just a snack for some of these apps.

Windows is a good OS given that its running clean. Third party apps tend to slow it down. Go to Run and then type msconfig. In the services and startup tabs, disable all non-microsoft services.

If the problem is due to viruses, I suggest browsing safer porn sites

After the hell I went through with 3 Windows laptops, I would stick with a macbook.

1st Windows laptop) Mp3's were choppy, DVD's were choppy, Youtube videos were choppy, System sometime hang on bootup. --> Spec. 2GB of RAM, 1.6Ghz Processor.

2nd Windows laptop)Mp3's were choppy, DVD's were choppy, Youtube videos were choppy, System crashed.

-->Specs, 2GB of RAM and 2Ghz processor.

3rd Windows laptop)DVD drive went out, power adapter went out, Vista chopped.
