  • very entertaining =)) thanks for posting keep it up .. god speed

  • I love these people, all of them.

  • Where's Fritz...?

  • Whatever happened to Bruno Wolfe, the original lead singer of this track for the JKJB?

  • Sweet Sue was written by W. Harris and V. Young and recorded by Fats Waller as early as 1935. Jim Reeves didn't record anything until the late 40's.

  • Check out the CD, Jug Band Extravaganza (available on Amazon, I think). Whoever did the recording of the CD did a very good job and it sounds great. On the CD, Muldaur does an spoken intro explaining that a critic panned this, so he decided to do it. Also, that's Maria Muldaur, his ex-wife holding the balloon. She does Richland Woman Blues and duets on Chevrolet.

  • "By Jim Reeves"??? Why don't you just admit you don't know who the hell wrote the tune or do the research to get the author correct.

  • Awesome...so that's how it's done LMFAO

  • A great concert night- behind Kweskin is a fellow Oregon Coaster from way way back- Peter "Spud" Siegel on mandolin...

  • Where is Bruno Wolfe?

  • Pretty sure that is Spuds Seigel on the other mando

  • Yes, that's Grisman on the mando. Also included that night were John Sebastian and Dan Hicks.

  • Is that David Grisman on mando?

  • Swinging !!

  • Thanks for posting! Great old song by an outstanding band!

  • God bless you Jim Kweskin, for showing us the way. (Oh, and lovely vocalizing Geoff).

  • Reply to ThomasDeLello-

Fritz passed about three years ago in Portland Oregon. I happened to be living there at the time. There was a moving tribute at the annual free July 4th festival on the riverfront.

  • Where's Fritz...???

  • played jug band music for a long time. They were the STUFF!!!!! wish I was back in those day's. fun. Mariposa, Canada folk fest's, oh my Love, fun...

  • Glad Kweskin is still alive and kickin'! Always great to see and hear him. I just started doing my family tree and found him there, so I added my name as well! Touched base with him too on line!

  • I was one of the lucky ones to be there. It was a jug band extravanza during Jug Band Week(end) in San Francisco. Jim and Geoff also did "Guabi Guabi" ! Great fun!

  • Great to see this! That looks like David Grisman on mandolin- when/where did this take place?

  • San Francisco/End of August/Great American Music Hall/ .....So Much Fun!!!

  • Thanks - wish I had been there! Friends in Boston told me Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur are doing a gig at Passim's in Cambridge in early January.
