In the movies, Soundwave sounds more like Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget with that monstrous bestial voice. No doubt that both his G1 and movie incarnations were done by Frank Welker.

@TheTruePhoenixxx Funnily enough, the first Soundwave and the second Soundwave are the exact same voice (basically Welker's "Dr Claw" voice). The former has lots of processing to alter the pitch and sound effects thrown in.

@TheGodzillaSithLord Frank welker wanted soundwave to sound more intimidating, so he asked to do the voice with less vocoder. When he did the soundwave-voice in the 80s he did use the same dr.claw voice but put a vocoder over it.

@tommaspawn The voice actor for Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen, did Optimus and Ironhide in G1. He still voices Optimus in video games and Transformers Prime. There's also Leonard Nimoy, who voiced Sentinel Prime in TF 3. But in G1, he voiced Galvaron in the movie. That's probably about it.

fun fact: Soundwave voice in the Bayformers was previously used as............Dr Claw(Inspector gadget Gadget arch enemey),of course by Welker himself yeeeeesss.

It's the same voice they use for G1, it's just that they modify it with something along the lines of vocoder. Though I do like the G1 voice more, but I like the movie's alt. mode more.

I like how some people say Frank Welker's Soundwave is the best then bash Bayformer's Soundwave. Sorry to those who don't know, but he did BOTH G1 and Bayformers.
