  • that car look nice!!! i have a question i just puchased i spray gun hvlp and i has a regulator how many lbs can i use to paint a car?25lbs or 30lbs?

  • @thethecqp what does your manual say? do some test panels to see, how big is your compressor will it be able to keep up with it? if you find it running alot only mix so much paint and let it fill itself up while your mixing paint, get a water /oil catcher to avoid crap in your hose also, and thank you

  • I think if you get a Sata or one of the other name brand guns it will lay the paint down and not cause so much orange peel. I had the same problem when I painted my dads truck. I was useing a wallmart brand gun when I should have used an hvlp.

  • Good Job buds keep it up :)

  • @KaMcRaZy07

    thanks buddy

  • pretty damn good for ur 1st time in a garage....even though there's some orange peel but that can be taken care of with a little sand and polish..but looks real good man...this type of work is hard but it always pays good...i been doing this since i was 13 now im 23 yrs. old and im a master painter. at 23. i can do it all. u look like a natural.

  • @sanchezyolanda

thanks for the cool comment i appreciate it,do you have anything on here? to look at.

yea i have been practicing at it, i enjoy making things with my hands rewarding in a way,

i just got done modding my bike i will post it up in a few minutes , it came out real good thanks again

  • @sanchezyolanda I see you started when u were 13. im 14 and want to do this type of work. I have been watching videos on youtube for about a year now on how to do this type work. I want to start helping my family re paint their cars and I think Im ready. But if you have anymore advice please help, Im willing to take any advice I can get!

And phaze500 ... you did a great job. nothing to major. thanks for the video man

  • @sanchezyolanda How do you avoid orange peel. I painted the bonnet of my car and found that holding it quite close and moving slightly slower helped.. in fact, it's turned out really well except for a few runs. However, I painted some side skirts and they've got some orange peel in them despite using the same techniques as before.. what could I be doing wrong do you think?

  • @Zlyzer Turn your air pressure way up when spraying clear, its harder to lay the clear down with a HVLP what you want is Divilbiss Plus, I have a GTI when i spray Clear i turn it up to 45psi just to get it to atomize.with zero orange peel

  • @Zlyzer honestly theres no way to get zero orange peel.. its just how it is. BUT u can definately minimize it.. either higher air pressure or a little extra reducer to let the clear flow out. room temperature and surface temp also play a huge role in how materials lay out.if you are repairing a newer car u actually want a little bit of orange peel because EVERY factory car has orange peel.

  • nice. front end looks like a new charger front end...weird but cool

  • haha problem is its a chevy lol

  • Looks great man ! keep up the great work

  • thanks buddy, very cool of ya

  • thanks mark, i appreciate your time buddy

  • Looking great. That sure has come a long way from where you first found the car. Love the contrasting black hood. I think I would shoot the trunk lid to match? No matter what you do, it is looking awesome. markcp
