  • @dcntexas1 Thanks, Doug. A good Spirit is the only spirit I'm interested in. I'm grateful you see evidence of Him.

  • Wow, now that was awesome. May the Lord richly bless you and yours and protect those guitar hands. Again, I say, Wow. Numbers 6:24-26 Mike

  • Great song...thank you, brother :)

  • awsome tune and playing wtgg

  • You have such a lovely, gentle spirit; a pleasure to listen to you play and sing (and harmonize with). Marry me.

  • very good job

  • Nicely done. Is there any chance you would post just the music on youtube? You play so sweetly. Thanks!

  • @amme2112 You mean and instrumental version? Perhaps, some day. I'd have to work up an arrangement for solo guitar with some variations, otherwise it would sound rather redundant after the first or second time through!

  • this is amazing! Great job on the acoustic!!!!

  • This is one of my favorite modern hymns. Thanks!

  • This is an extremely good acoustic rendition Mr. Marti. Very very well done. Blessings upon you sir. Gave me a tear or two. Thank you.

  • I know how you feel. The first few times I tried to sing it, I got a little choked up myself. Kind of puts you there at the cross, but knowing what we know now. "Ashamed I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers..."

  • This also is one of my favorite songs. Thank you for being a blessing! GOD bless!

  • This is a beautiful modern hymn. Nice guitar work! God bless you. -Paul & Abigail

  • i hope youll receive this message,.

i hope youll be a blessing too.

  • Amen.

  • Nice job. Your style kind of reminds me of Gordon Lightfoot.

  • Wonderful job. Keep singing.

  • I've been humming this all day. Tonight I've listened to a few versions, but this is the one I've enjoyed most; it was worth the effort of doing it a few times and polishing it. Although I usually prefer the older hymns, this is one of the more recent hymns that have a flavour of the times when some of the classic hymns were written. I think it will become a future classic, and I hope the choir which which I sing will be performing it for many years to come.

  • Wow, its awsome!

Am a song writer and I have been praying for talented people like you to join me.

    Great vocals and instrument!

  • Do you have the tablature for this?

  • Sorry, no. All I have is a chord chart. If you'd like the chord chart pleas PM me your e-mail address.

  • Wonderful version =)

  • AWESOME!! i LIKE THE SINGING AND THE SONG!!

  • nice job guitmartiman. if it took you 3 tries, it was worthwhile then to get it right. almost 23 thousand views as I write.

  • Yeah, and the thing is, since I uploaded this rendition, I have learned a slightly different arrangement that I would have liked better. But that's okay, I at least got the melody right on this one!

  • God Bless you sir. This was sung this morning in church, so it's great to hear it again. Well done!

    --papermason

  • Very enjoyable rendition. Well done.! Wish I had your abilities. Cheers, John

  • You did a Great Job with this piece, you should look up the Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team cd ''Jesus, My Lord,My God My All.'' This is my favorite song on that cd.

  • I have been wanting to learn this song on guitar so badly. Is there any way you can get me your version of it? That would be amazing. I am not great on the guitar but I love to teach myself songs that I can sing to, and this is one of the best.

  • I guess if you could just help me out with the strumming sequence, I go the chords from the earlier post

  • The picking pattern is basically p m i p m i a m, where p=thumb, m=middle finger, i=index finger, and a=third or ring finger. Your thumb would obviously play any bass string that goes with the whatever chord you're playing, while your index finger generally plays the 3rd or G string (or what ever note that happens to be in a given chord), your middle finger plays the 2nd or B string, and your 3rd finger plays the 1st or high E string. Hope that helps!

  • This song is a real gem.

  • My wife and I have been talking lately about how new worship music seems to miss the mark at getting the TRUTH out. This is one of our favorite songs. You did a fantastic job and I know it makes the Lord happy to hear His children using their God-given talents to praise His name. Check out a song by the Newsboys called In Christ Alone. Its another great one!

  • I will! Thank you!

Yes, I don't know that I have anything really against much of the modern worship music, but it does seem to lack depth and conviction in many cases. I believe the songs we sing should be sung in the Spirit AND Truth.

  • could you tell me the chords played?

  • C, F & G for the first two verses and then D, G and A for the break and the last verse. If you want I can send you a chord chart if you'll PM me your e-mail address.

  • I'd like to get a copy of the chord chart too, if you don't mind. I'll PM you with my email.

  • That was wonderful. Made me weep too. Realizing how ssilly I've been in truning way from God. But He accepts me back. Thank you Lord

  • That was just absolutely fantastic.

    Thank you!

  • very nice i like the chords and its beating... hu if i could only play an instruments...

  • This song makes me weep.

  • Me too...

  • This is one of my all time favorite songs. It's a beautiful song and you play it very well. Thank you for posting it:)

  • cheers man. By the way awesome guitar playing truly is a God given gift. I'm just learning, one day maybe I'll be as good as you.

  • Ashamed i hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers. The first time i heard this line i was close to tears. As i just know if i was there then that's probably what i would have done. Before i was reborn.

  • I hear you. God indeed is good! He loved you and me when we were still His enemies. How can we (knowing what He has done foe us) not now love Him in return?

  • Very nice. Not many songs are this scriptural. It is very peaceful. Thanks I love songs that are right on scripturally. He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquity

  • There are a lot of songs that are scriptural. They are the old hymns of the faith, not the contemporary Christian rock. A lot of the times, a hymn will be based on a verse, and we don't even realize it, because we are more familiar with the song, than with the verse. You should get a Majesty's Hymns. It is an excellent hymn book, but a good variation on hymns. It has a verse for every song in it. =)

  • Totally awesome guitar playing! Love the fingerpicking bro! Keep on praising His name!!!

  • I was stunned by this song the first time I heard it as well.

  • Very powerful.

  • wow all heart

  • Powerful words and beautiful guitar playing..."As wounds which mar the holy One,

Bring many sons to glory"..What a mystery and at the same time what a truth.

  • There are few songs written with such inspiration thses days, and it is sung with equal inspiration and sincerity. Thank you and God bless!

  • Jack, That is such a beautiful song and very well done as usual. I would like the words and music.

  • God was glorified. Thanks for the lyrics you posted with awesome rendition. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the Power of God to Salvation.

  • Thank you.

  • That was excellent!

  • hey MARTIN its not how good we sing GOD sees with how much love we praise HIM thats important I think but you know one thing God has bkessed you with an amazing voice and a good guitar. We need more improvised version of many songs from you Martin>GOD BLESS YOU......AND THE BLESSING CONTINUES.....

  • You have a special gift with the guitar..Martin..ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL VIDEO & SONG..GOD BLESSSSSSS YOU !!!!!!!

  • That was so beautiful. Brought a tear to the eye.

  • Thank's Jack, for sharing another witness in song with the world.May The Lord Bless, and Keep You in his Light. REV.B.W.HOLT

  • Thanks Jack that was just beautiful.

  • hey jack your awesome, you really make me feel closer to God.

    God bless brother

  • Very nice Jack, and yes His wounds have paid the ransom. I really think that it would sound nice with your wife singing a little harmony. But beautiful nonetheless. God Bless.

  • She's been in South Dakota for the past month and a half taking a course at Black Hills Health and Education Center. But she'll be back on Nov. 4th. Perhaps we can start making videos together again soon, though it is difficult to get her in front of the camera. I really love singing harmony.

  • Great song Jack. I could listen to your songs all evening. Its lovely to hear this uncomplicated song sang with meaning and from the heart. M:)

  • Not bad at all. Awesome song Jack.

  • You had me going for half a second, I thought your were going to say it was somewhat less than awesome! lol Thanks Scott. I always appreciate it when you stop by. You're a loyal friend.

  • Thanks for the inspiring song, brother Jack.

  • very nice piece! i like the bridge very much, very smooth key change....mine always sound cheesy!

  • Great song Jack : )

    Rocket

  • these words are profound...Oh, His love is unfathomable.

  • Isn't it though!

  • I'm not sure that you need to sing the melody exactly the same as the original. It can be your interpretation. After all Dylan, for example, sang his own songs in many different ways on different occasions. Anyway it sounds great.

  • In many cases I would agree with you, but in this case, the original melody was much better than I was coming up with. I did, however, modify the lyrics slightly to reflect my understanding better.

  • Yeah beautiful 5* A.D. :))

  • That was beautiful Jack. The perfect message to dwell on as I head to work!

  • I think I have heard this song before. Great job Jack.

  • very touching song Jack , thankyou for putting the lyrics up i like to join in with the songs ((((HUG)))) hope everything is ok ur way

  • It could only be better if Laurie were back home. She's been in South Dakota taking a personal training course for the past month and a half. She'll be back home on November 4th. I can hardly wait!

  • Beautiful!

    GBY~Nancy

  • Ah --just read the explanation, I wondered where this got to earlier.

    Lovely song.

  • Yeah, sorry about that, but I'm glad I didn't leave either of the other two versions up. I wasn't really happy with either of them.

  • waw its good!!! good job

  • I love that song! And you did a lovely rendition of it. Thanks for letting people know about my Mental Health Moments video. It's a new world for me. . .keep singing and playing.

  • You're entirely welcome. I'm glad to be of service to you in that way. And as far as singing and playing is concerned, it's not likely I'll ever quit unless I lose my voice and/or hands. It's kind of an obsession really.

  • great find.thanks for sharing this beautiful inspiration.
