These speakers ARE NOT 600 watts RMS.When you buy active speakers, you need to look for the amp's power handling, not what the speaker itself could handle.I was speaking to a representative & he could not tell me info about the amp.I did some digging up & found an exsact replica of these speakers from another company.Bassed on some reviews I have read & the replica's I have seen,I will safly assume that these speakers only have a 200 watt RMS amp.
Hey, does your speaker send alot of bass to the compression driver and make it sound horrible like mine does, because if I send it a pure 6khz signal it sounds clear and crisp, but if I play music that I have heard before I can hear clipping and things you shouldn't hear come out of the compression driver, this is at any volume level but especially with the bass turned up.

@avigil600 I have had a pair of 15" JBL Eon's for a while now, and have just ordered a pair of the SA PWS15's. They should be arriving today, and I'm planning on making a side-by-side comparison video, so just look out for it on my channel.
Great video. Considering getting a pair of SA speakers like this. My question is what is the purpose behind a power amplifier? What exactly does it do? Does it take an input (say, from a laptop) and make it louder, then sends it out to the speakers? How necessary is an amp? Thanks.
@CrazyPsychoNoob -The SPEAKER (each) is POWERED, meaning you don't need the external amp THEN to speakers. If the question is about that "side speakon connector" - that is for PASSIVE (un-powered speaker) that you can use as a monitor or 'booth' output.
Also, think about this: an mp3 player has a powered output that can only run headphones. Anything more, you need POWER, hence the POWER AMP within the speaker.
@CrazyPsychoNoob Absolutely no matter what, there's always going to be an amp in the equation, because they are required to power the speakers. Some speakers (like these) have a built-in power amp, so they are considered ACTIVE. Others, however, require an external power amp or a powered mixer, and those are called PASSIVE
@yoyoman209 you can have RCA connections into these speakers, you just need an adapter (RCA female to XLR male adapter) message me and i can take you to an ebay link of the adapter you need
looking at buy these, what do they come with cord wise. i want to know what i would need to hook it directly to my computer which has a left and right red and white input. kinda new to this so ya haha. thank you!
@yoyoman209 Alright well this speaker doesnt have the RCA wires( Red and White) so you need to find an XLR input and your output will go to your laptop....go on amazon or ebay and type in High Quality 3.5mm 1/8" Male to XLR Female Audio MP3 to Mixer MIC CABLE 3FT / 1M........your gonna need that for those speakers to plug into your laptop
@yoyoman209 actually, since it has the 1/8" line in, you can just run (if you had to) 1/8" (headphone jack) to another 1/4"...from lappy to speaker. BUT that will send mixed stereo (no separation left/right) you would need (ideally) a stereo (1/8" to (2) 1/4" mono (left, right). Then, each 'tail' can carry the RIGHT or LEFT signal to each speaker
Cool, I really wanna get these with the tripod stands and the carrying bags. 10% off everything at their site until the end of September using code "Sept10"

The speakon output on the side is to power up a passive speaker like the Seismic Audio NPS-15's

The active output allows you to run passive speakers off of the PWS-15's amp, basically just good for daisy chaining a monitor

Pretty much the same as JBL? i think not...

BTW, the "extra" Spekon connector off to the side is for a PASSIVE speaker (usually for Monitors...)
