@alydamarte I don't think you've actually studied anthropology to make that statement. Children in those societies were seen as adults after they passed the 8+ age. In the middle east, when you were aged 8+ you were expected to work and provide for your family and are given adult status. Also look at British society hundreds of years ago "children" as young as 10 could be sentenced as an adult if they commited a crime, they could also fight in wars alongside other men.

'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64
Narrated 'Aisha:
that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

@alydamarte let me explain something to your simple minded brain. during the 6th century in arabia they used to use the lunar calender aisha was 9 years old according to this calender but if they would have used the correct calender which is the solar calender she was really 6 years old when she consummated sex and muhammad was in his late 40s. so dont come as if i have no knowledge in the hadith i think i already mentioned that i read ALL 40 BOOKS! (im a book worm) let it go.

The Prophet and I used to take a bath from a single pot while we were Junub. During the menses, he used to order me to put on an Izar (dress worn below the waist) and used to fondle me. While in Itikaf, he used to bring his head near me and I would wash it while I used to be in my periods (menses).

Narrated 'Aisha:
I used to wash the semen off the clothes of the Prophet and even then I used to notice one or more spots on them.

@alydamarte You really haven't proved anything by your silly rambling. The fact of the matter is Men married younger girls in that period of time, it wasn't uncommon for any man to do so. This happened throughout the Christian/Islamic/Judaic and pagan tribes.If it was an issue, you could bet that people would have made a huge issue about it 1400 years ago. They didn't. Aisha herself was happy in the marriage and became one of the most respectable women in Islam and Arabia.

@zubizaretta99 OH MY GOD are you serious?! during the 6th century even in the time of Moses children of that age were seen as too young to be in a marriage and they were seen as a persons child not a sex object. aisha didnt approve anything she was too young to know what was going on! she didnt even know she was getting married to an old man. and please do not compare judaism/christian with islam, we have a different mentally then muslim. a child marriage was 13 and up not 13 and down yuk!!

@alydamarte I don't think you've actually studied anthropology to make that statement. Children in those societies were seen as adults after they passed the 8+ age. In the middle east, when you were aged 8+ you were expected to work and provide for your family and are given adult status. Also look at British society hundreds of years ago "children" as young as 10 could be sentenced as an adult if they commited a crime, they could also fight in wars alongside other men.

And you aren't allowed to go on the front line in wars until you are again 16-18+, correct me if i'm wrong. Norms of society have changed, it's only because you are so used to living within these norms that you can not accept what occured in the past.

@zubizaretta99 whats funny about your assumtion is that they arent true i actually studied anthropology i have a political science degree (major) and an associates in world history (minor). yes its true in England kids had to provide and were sentenced as adults but that is extremely different from having sex and getting married. in england kids did not get married until they were 17 and for boys 18 or 19 until then they were forbidden to have sexual relations so your statements are irrelevant

I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah's Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for 'Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.)
