Very cool, and she has aged well - I remember she was the face of the Butterick and Simplicity patterns in the 70's - I still have a few!! I cant believe we used to be that thin...hahaha
There is something so universal and ageless about Sixties supermodel Colleen Corby. She's a visual representation of so many things to so many people. Icons are phenomenons. Who can explain one? I enjoyed your vid!
Collen had a younger sister, Molly, who also had a twin brother, Bobby. In one pic, Ford model Molly appears briefly beside her sister in this video. As a close friend of Molly's in the late 60's and early 70's, I was a frequent visitor to their apt on 57th St. I recall Collen as being quite self-absorbed. She barely ever acknowledged my presence in her family home. Guess I was invisible. Anyway, I hope both she and Molly are well and happy.
ZOMG, I loved Colleen Corby ... it sometimes seemed she was the only brunette in a sea of California blondes. And she had a great smile ... so many times in her pictures, she didn't smile. I understand she's lived in Florida for a long time. I'll bet she still looks great!
I know. I was listeing to Oprah too and this Collen Corby sparked my curiousity. I had to "tube" her find out what she looks like. I must say, very pretty girl.
Thank you for this video. I, too, aspired to be just like Colleen Corby. I have GOOGLED her name from time to time with no info, but now...this! Wow. What memories.
She was gorgeous. I looked forward to seeing her on the cover of seventeen magazine almost every month. She looked like a teenage Audrey Hepburn. She outmodeled every girl then and today as well. I lived to see her pictures!
Colleen Corby--wow, thanks for posting. My friends & I used to count her photos in Seventeen magazine. Amazing--she was so American and fresh. Thanks!
Thank you for creating this amazing video - Colleen was naturally exquisite and her face so incredibly expressive. She was the girl me and all of my friends wanted to be when we grew up.
OMG, thanks so much for this. Colleen was the REAL Supermodel of the 60s. Her sister, Molly was beautiful, too, and they were so nice. Colleen's husband died of cancer in '94 and she has 3 boys. She lives in Florida as she left modeling in 1979.
I feel honored to share the same first name with her.

She was mentioning that when she was a teen she was one of the models she idolized. I believe she also had her on her show at one point.

That Buddy Holly? Really? I love this music, but I don't think it's Holly. Anybody know?

No, is not Buddy Holly :P
Youtube deleted the audio so I had to change it.

60's women are real and natural beauties, unlike celebrities today, FAKE boobs, fake butt, fake lips, fake jaw etc...

Gosh, I remember some of those shots! I didn't realize how much I was influenced by her when I was a young teen. Thanks for this great video :-)

But Colleen and her sister, Molly were both WONDERFUL role-models. She was always a "Lady".
Fashion then didn't try to make teen girls look like Street-Walkers.
Jibbie49 3 years ago 2
You're right Jibbie. Girls could keep covered up then and just be pretty and feminine without be naked.
