@blackeye09 I just actually picked one on those up as well to go with the Team Chase cage due to the fact the CPI pipe hits the rear of the cage. Let me know what you think of it, I have yet to run mine.
sick ass fuck pipe where can I buy one of these please reply asap and thank you very much I liked and I loved all oif your videos so I had to subscribe song????????????????????
You beat the living crap out of that 5t! Haha love the video and the pipe seems great too! If you dont mind me asking, how does this pipe compare to the rear dom v2? Is the pipe aiming at increasing the low end or is it an overall pipe?
@SavageRC1 I have never used a rear DOM pipe, the V1 or V2 so I really can't compare the two pipes. I can say I really like the CPI pipe it does a good job and performs very well, I would say it is an overall pipe.
@palm47 hey i have a few questions cause my baja keeps blowing plugs and i thik its running to rich but i have a hgk cmr7h plug in it and i think its running at a 24:1 ratio i am wondering if thats to rich for the baja and the plug when i pull it out is black on the spak part thanks plz reply fast
@rccarsman87 I would run at 25:1, which is 5.12oz of oil to 1 gallon of gas. Running at that ratio shouldn't foul you plugs, it seems like more of a tuning issue. A properly tuned engine running at 25:1 shouldn't foul plugs. I will send you a couple of links.
@rccarsman87 I run 5oz of oil to 1 gallon of gas, roughly 25:1. A good starting point for the carb is 1-1/2 on the H needle and 1-1/4 on the L needle...hope that helps.
@palm47 wow thats not bad i was sure a suspension was gunna break after all that bashing but apparently not. Is the truck worth the price tag because i am considering picking one up and testing out in the badlands behind my place at baja. I would much rather go thru hpi but all these other guys like km and rovan are catching my eye cuz the tamer prices.
@empire789 In this video I was running the stock wheels with Hostile MXT tires on the rear and the stock wheels and tires in the front. The Hostile line of tires are great!!
Is this the big bore CPI pipe? I've heard a mixed bag of responses about the 813 carbs so i'm reluctant to try it. Does the 813 carb make a big difference to low end over the stock carb on the 26? Also can you recal info on the suspension setup, oil, springs etc etc? - it looks like a nicely dialed in setup. Those rear tyres seem to do wonders with that low to mid speed. Nice video too. Shows the real potential of the Baja 5T
@XysteRST205 Thanks. I am using the standard CPI pipe, which is designed for the stock engine. The BB pipe was designed for modified/bigger engines and I think the main differences are the exhaust stingers. I am running the stock shock set up in the front and in the rear I am running 10wt with a 12 hole piston. As for the 813, I have also read the complaints but I have yet to experience them, I think it make a difference I run them on all my cars.
It has a few mods but as for the drive train it still has the stock engine (26cc), gears and clutch. I believe it had the front and rear TR braces and shock towers in that video.
Now that's how you bash! Man I love your style as it reminds me of mine! Killer vid! My 5t will be arriving tomorrow. I'm saying goodbye to the nitro world. Do you notice any disadvantages as far as weight distribution with this pipe?
Thanks, the 5T is a great basher. Yah, my poor LST2 has been sitting on the shelf for about 2yrs now. As far as a weight disadvantage, not really. But then again I have only run the VRC rear pipe and then this one. I do have to say I dont noise dive that often so that might be do to the weight of the CPI pipe.
Both the 5B and the 5T are basically the same vehicle with different bodies, wheels and other cosmetic features. I personally like the look of the 5T better than the 5B so for me the 5T was the better choice. One advantage the 5T has is the larger tires give it better ground clearance for the rough terrain; the disadvantage is the bodies cost a hell of a lot more than the 5B.
I really cant answer that question, I have never run the Dominator V2 or V1 on my 5T. The only pipes I have run on the 5T are the VRC rear pipe and the CPI pipe. For my driving style I prefer the CPI over the VRC. The rear DOM, from what I have read and seen, is a great pipe and the only complaint I hear is that it can get damaged from being too exposed.
It was definitely the lip, I would never abuse my precious RC like that. lol Lets just say I didnt always take the safest jumps, after all I was testing the durability of the CPI pipe and if it always landed on all four wheels what kind of test would that have been. :)
Once you get it tuned you are pretty much set unless you change something on the engine such as a carb or pipe. Also if you travel with it and the altitude is different you will have to re-tune it but overall you should only have to tune it once and you are good to go, unlike nitro as you already know.
well, no one can accuse you of treating you re T like a shelf queen. excellent vid, my B to T conversion is nearly done cant wait to take it for a bash
wow wow wow i love the bashing i love the video but i want to know how you rate the cpi pipe does it truley add horse power next to a stock pipe!!! is it possible you could a side by side test. i dont mean to be that way but i dont want to waste money. not saying i would on your pipe!!!!
I bought the 5T used and it didnt come with a stock exhaust so I wouldnt be able to do a side by side comparison. If I had the stock exhaust I would be more than happy to do it for you. All I can say is I seriously doubt you would be disappointed with this pipe, it is a great pipe.
What did you drink for breakfast M23? Lean, are you kidding me and if it was to lean shouldnt I turn it counter clockwise? I thought I told you, lay off the cheap stuff it will give you drainbramage. :)
How would you compare this pipe to the dom v2 unsilenced?

I haven't actually driven it yet..... just fired it up to see if everyone is good and what it sound like!!
I wont be driving it for a while honestly because I don't have a chassis for the moment...
so you might be experiencing it before I do LOL

How many rpm on the clutch?
The settings of mine are 7200 rpm (1,25 turn)
Your Baja is fast in acceleration.
Can you tell me how many turns (or rpm) you set the clutch?
Thanks!
tvanbale 2 years ago
I think I set it slightly shy of 1.5 turns which should engage around 8000 rpm. I am also using an 813 carb which also helps with low end lag.
