  • Around 5:46 I noticed an a silver adapter piece thats used to screw on, my puller kit didn't come with it, what is the name of this piece? I need to run to the hardware store

  • @Skittlesking Are you talking about the piece with the four long slots and large bolt in the middle.

  • @richpin06a

No thats the yoke, I have that, I mean at the end of the long part that screws into the steering wheel

  • @Skittlesking That was part of the puller i doubt it is something you could pick up separately.

  • @richpin06a

Damn alright thanks, guess I have to buy a new puller. Thank you for the video, I subbed.

  • I would recommend disconnecting the batterie also unless you like having a broken neck and possibly death. If you like your chances then have fun.

  • sounds like peter griffin :D

  • @janMirage98 what what what

  • For those who just want to pull the battery cables, if you have a used Saturn like I do and don't know it's history you look to run into problems with your stock stereo as soon as you cut the power. If somebody put in an anti theft code and you don't know what it is you end up with a stereo in lock down, meaning without the reset code, no stereo. Possibly a code wasn't programmed in but why take the chance?

  • great video, i thing its much simpler and safer to disconnet the battery than the fuse !!!!!!!

  • just take the wheel off lol

  • you can remove my steering wheel anytime!!!

  • Easy as pie Changed out my Ignition switch using this and 2 other of your videos. I also changed my Steering wheel as the one from the JY where I got the ignition switch was better,. Thanks rich for the videos!

  • very productive

  • life saver thanks man

  • great video

  • but its always smart to wear gloves because of static electricity.

  • Do you need a steering wheel puller? I cant take off the wheel by hand is there another way?

  • @Antonio865 Yes you can use a steering wheel puller. On the 00-02 you will need adapters with the puller.

  • @Antonio865

Wiggle the wheel left and right as you pull. Simply pulling won't work.

  • @TMattLee I couldn't just wiggle it out it was too tight so i had to rent a steering wheel puller but thats about it. My truck was a 77 Ford so I didn't have to mess with any wires just the horn.

  • were you takin it off to put a aftermarket wheel on or do they make them for saturns?

  • @uhsdef78 I took it off just to show you how.

  • so i removed an airbag on a sable without removing the fuse or battery cable, u telling me the airbag could have blown up in my face!!

  • @Siciliana81 yes! and unhooking the battery dosent always cut it as airbags store a little juice in capacitors

  • You sound like Peter Griffin from the Family guy!! =)

  • THANKS!! DO A VIDEO ON A FORD FIESTA MK5 :D

  • To everyone wanting to know whether you should take the fuse out or disconnect the battery instead when dealing with the airbag. Think about this for a second, you are dealing with an explosive device that if it goes off can do some serious damage to you. Don't take chances. I removed both the battery cable and fuse. Then I let it sit overnight.

  • 78 MGB, no holes?

  • His hands are too slow. Can't work without gloves?

  • OK

     thanks

  • can u do a video on a gen 3 Saturn 01

  • @14shawn Yes i do have on on the gen 3

  • when replacing the steering wheel back in and the fuse and not replacing the airbag, will there be any problems turning the car on and driving without the airbag attached ?

  • @lonewolfncubs I believe the only thing that will happen is the service soon light will come on.

  • okay I am doing a project on a 97 s series with the steering wheel, can I replace the steering wheel and leave off the airbag and place the fuse back in?

  • can u do a video for 1998-2000 corolla?

  • @pker799 If i find myself working on one i will be sure to video the removal.

  • instead of taking out the fuse can you (as an alternative) disconnet the battery?

  • @nolifeATALL23 Yes you can but be warned you will lose your presets on your radio

and the computer will have to relearn and set its readiness tests like our fellow who flamed me below probable found out

  • What The Fuck?!?!? You Dont Need all those fancy tools like the torque wrench or the ''puller'' and you can just unhook the battery cables no need to take out the fuse Jackass your just making things sound complicated

  • @CharlieLUVSChevys I think that ther could be down-sides of that meathod...

  • @CharlieLUVSChevys there is still a charge in the ECU, so if you do it that way, you would need to sit on the brake pedal for about 3 minutes to discharge the ecu making it safe.

  • @CharlieLUVSChevys When did he use a torque wrench? The puller is to remove the wheel because it's press fitted to the column. And I think he took the fuse out to avoid risk of electrocution! If you think it's so easy then why are you watching this tutorial?

  • i have a quik queston i have a 91 honda accord, is it the same but with out the whole airbag thing because mine dont have 1 and i want to but a racing steering wheel on?

  • @anthonysakai an accord is not a race car therefore you should not put that wheel on and please remove the fart cannon and/or wing that i predict you have put on.

  • i dnt put that shitty ass shit on there i just cut the muffler and cadilac conv. off and i hate wings and them muffler cans nvr wnt one

  • Easier way!

    1. Take NEGATIVE terminal of battery out.

    2. Go ahead take off the airbag.

NO NEED TO LOCATE THE FUSE AND WAIT 30 MINUTES.

  • @Jadoogarr actually the airbags have capacitors hooked up to them and will store a certain amount of energy, your better off unclipping the harness' to each airbag then wait for the caps to discharge.

  • Good video. Its funnny at around 2:00 you can hear his voice is diffrent because he wearing a helmet just incase the airbag goes off

  • AHH looks hard :( does the same go for a Honda Civic 98' i wanna change my wheel so bad!

  • OMG NOT FAIR!! I NEED A TORQUE WRENCH?!?1 fuck im screwed. the hub nut is SO FUKING HARD to get off of the steering wheel with a socket wrench

  • pepboys has a descent Kawasaki 1/2 Corded impact for like 65 bucks, it is corded(standard outlet) and has enough power for the DIY and get a set of 1/2 impact sockets

  • lol I've used your video for almost everything I've had to do on my 99 Saturn sc1. Thanks for making these series of repair videos.

  • this guy is fucking awesome!

  • Awesome video, you have helped me a-lot. Do you know if i were to replace my steering wheel with another one that doesn't have an airbag, can i leave the airbag fuse out.

  • You can leave the air bag fuse out but the air bag light will come on.

  • But if I put the fuse back in the light should go back off, even though there is no airbag?

  • Fantastic demonstration, nice clear view and verbal instructions. When putting the steering wheel back on, do you have to use a lot of pushing force to set it back in?

  • No you don't have to use much force at all.

  • luv the vids richpin! would u consider doing a video that shows how to remove the paneling and headliner in a gen 2 so that we can replace that ourselves? i helped my sister with hers but noticed that gen 1 panelling is diff/easier than the gen 2. thanx!

  • great video! thanks!

  • thanks for this high quality video. I always watch your clips when I have a rest
