You're very wrong with the resell value; with a car like the Elantra no one would even try to sell the car, so there won't be a resell value. And first of all, no one trust you in matters of cars knowledge, you didn't even know the name of the Hyundai which you constantly were calling Sonata, and at the end Elantra, and I don't know why you didn't re-recorded the video, was it so difficult???. The Corolla simply one of the least competitive vehicles in its segment. 4 cyl auto for the Toyota while the Elantra has 6 sp auto or manual. Elantra interior simply miles ahead of the Corolla. There's no comparison here, Corolla falls short of the Elantra in almost every respect

The Toyota has better fit and finish than the Hyundai? No; not even close. Toyota has started making vehicles with interiors that look better than the sum of their parts and the Corolla is no exception. The only thing this guy has somewhat right is resale value. However, that doesn't matter unless you plan on selling your car 3-5 years after purchase. And while true; Hyundai's resale value is getting better. In 3 more years it will be near Toyota. While Hyundai takes risk Toyota plays it safe!!!

Ive driven both cars. My mother has a 2011 corolla. I have a 2011 elantra. The corolla is extremely uncomfortable (Im a tall person) and the interior is laid out as if it were designed by a blind person. Why on earth would you place the clock next to the shifter? The elantra has room to spare and the location and feel of everything in the car just makes sense.

@Crashtian I own a 2010 Corolla (after test driving Accents/Elantras, Yaris/Corolla, Civic, Mazda 6, Impreza, etc) and I love how comfortable it is to drive. I do agree that the clock is in an awkward place, but it's a trivial detail and is not a deal breaker. The new Elantra has flashy numbers that look good on paper, but no record for long-term reliability. Let's see both cars at the end of the decade and see how they've held up...

@Windgrace I have my long term numbers about a Hyundai already.... My 2007 Accent is 5 years old now, and it is running WAY BETTER THAN MANY YARIS owned by my friends. And as a matter of fact, it is still running like the day one....just regular maintenance. I have a friend of mine with a 2002 Santa Fe, and works like a clock, No Problems. What else I need, if my brother-in-law's Corolla 2008 has electrical problems and sounds like a Russian cargo aircraft taking off...

Their new products definitely are pushing boundaries that just a few years ago would not have been considered possible, but they all have yet to prove longevity in their vehicles products. Obviously, you've had different experiences, and all the better for you. I mention Hyundai to almost everyone I know and I see a visible shudder with older folks.

I'm sorry, but in my opinion Hyundai Elantra hands down destroy Toyota Corolla in just about every aspects. Elantra has better interior finish, better MPG, more horse power, much larger interior space, kick ass exterior styling, significantly better warranty, and it's less expensive.
