  • I love how you can really feel the emotion when he's singing to his wife that he's come home again :'(

  • If you listen REALLY closely at 00:40, you can hear someone calling in the background; you can hear it better with headphones

  • @OnWeMove I thought i was the only one hearing that LOL glad someone else noticed

  • @RJWulf Haha! Scared the life outta me! XD

  • @OnWeMove it Sent shivers down my spine

  • @OnWeMove It's the echo, they are in the sewers ^^

  • @OnWeMove it was more at 00:35 but yeah i hard it too. creeped me out o.o

  • at 9:08 i always wish he could say naive at the end...but i know it doesnt happen EVERY SINGLE TIME ='(

  • @AnimeLuver2597 XD Omg that's how I feel I'm like "SAY THE FREAKIN WORD D:"

  • safe? so we run away and all our dreams come true? <3

  • 7:43 NOT MY WIFE YOU BITCH!!!!

  • @Kerriangel why do you think he cremated her "alive", he was pissed to be deceived

  • @Indefinable Sweeney is in league with Molly weasley, knew it.

  • I love how Mrs. Lovett's all quiet and compassionate, and Sweeney's just like "TOBY. >:c"

  • @DzWerewolf This comment makes me laugh every time I read it.

  • @DzWerewolf lol i keep hearing Tubey.. so it's like "I'm gonna kill you anyway, so i won't pronounce you're name right."

  • smosh ad

  • @OrchestralSilence that is my favorite part of the whole movie, she sounds like a beautiful fairy, ur right, it does send shivers ;D

  • I think that all Sweeney needs is a hug.

  • @polorbears121 That, and a few decades with a good therapist.

  • Singing this in drama class. I'm so excited to be Mrs. Lovett!

  • this part os awesome i love it!!

  • "you lied to me" i love how he says it, because he sad because of his wife, but hes also actually hurt cause she lied, cause you can tell at a few points in the movie, that he did in fact have feelings for lovett, but no where near like he did for his wife, so sad <3

  • @4evafreedom while in the original, he didn't care for her whatsoever. At no point in the show did he care.

  • @OrchestralSilence Toby! "Nothin's gonna harrrrmmm you... Not while I'm around...." Toby!

  • "can we still be married" xD i love this movie just, so much x3

  • 2:42 - 3:10 made my heart break almost more than when todd realized he killed his wife. todd's family are all together in the same room but none of them new it.

  • I want this movie on youube

  • @Abnorm Assassin

I'm ten, and I love this movie, and I understand the plot perfectly.

  • my heart breaks a little everytime i hear sweeney say, "you lied to me..."

  • During the movie don't you want to just scream: "YOU KILLED YOUR WIFE!"

Cause I knew it was his wife the minute I saw her.

  • @EmbraceMe711 Jep

  • BENJAMIN BARKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *stab stab stab stab staby stab stab*

  • "'don't i know you?', she says." i love the ending. it's so sad and tragic and ironic

  • "BENJAMIN BARKER!!!"

    <3

  • and he was... dead

  • yes i lied 'cause i love youuu!

  • 9:48 = extremely powerful T_T

  • "REALLY LIVING IT!" So much power and anger. ._.

  • i love 0:11 to 1:11

  • ♫"And his Lucyyyyyyy... lies in ashesssss...."♫

  • BENJAMIN BAKAHH!!!!!

  • poor alan ):

  • @silnt333 Yes, he would. The fact that he felt sad when he realized that he had killed her is proof of it. Much different from you and your mindset that if a person becomes undesirable, she no longer deserves to be loved. We're not talking about your everyday, shallow boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. This is about actual love.

  • @OrchestralSilence

I Like it too ;DD Helena has a great voice *-*

  • I mad that he killed ms lovette.

Dude. She technically didn't even "lie" to him. She said she took a poisen and she DID. ms lovette never actually says she dies...

  • @parasitezombiexx The thing is that it's easier to feel sympathy with HBC's Mrs Lovette because she has a warmer nature and, at times, seems to reach to the more sensible side of Barker. The scene I always remember is the bit where she asks him if he can even remember what Lucy looked like. In the stage show its easier to dislike her. That's my opinion anyway.

  • @cardwitch91 That's a mistake. Her pretty voice and the way she speaks makes her seem ''sweet''. But her actions speak differently.

  • @parasitezombiexx It's the same as saying ''I only said that he jumped from a building, not that he died''. It's an absurd excuse. Also, ''Life is for the living''.

  • poor todd..baker..he killed her... ;__; not mrs. lovett

  • @yassiiful Why does everyone feel sorry for Mrs. Lovett? Did they even pay attention to the story at all? Bitch hid the fact that his wife was around so that she could have him. =\

  • poor todd..baker..he killed her... ;__;

  • when he sings the bit "I've come home again" it ALWAYS makes me tear ;__;

  • ( Me watching this for the first time)

Sweeny- How bout a shave? Sit sir

    Me- Yep. Your screwed.

  • I hate this ending because its not like Lucy would think he's an appropriate husband anymore (assuming shes right in the head) I mean, Mrs. Lovett is saying how much she loves him and hes covered in BLOOD. yet she just loves him. She would make x2 the wife ANYONE would because she accepts that Todd is a murderous person yet loves him all the same. Not to mention shes the best character in the movie

  • perfect.

  • I hate that akward moment when your trying to sing, and Sweeney walks in and cuts your throat. It sucks. :/

  • @MissAdison He probably thought you were terrible at singing.

  • @Boosh882 yeah, i bet. :\

  • TOBY! How dare you lie! You told her nothing would harm her.... U LIAR! *sob* hehehe ♥

  • @mewoohoo123 But Toby was not around when that happened and he only said the he was around.

  • @Brambleshadow11 OH, so very true :\

  • @Brambleshadow11 Ahh but he was around. Because if he wasnt he wouldnt have seen her get killed, then killed sweeney. He was hidin' (;

  • Would have been so creepy (but also so cool) if Tobey would have sung "Nothing´s gonna harm you" while killing Sweeney. Wouldn´t that have been so scary?

  • @mrsiwtv He was singing a demented version of patty-cake, in the brodway play.

  • @polorbears121 I adored that part in the play :( I was looking forward to it in the movie.

  • 12....13? why only little children, who dont understand the plot and the moral of the story, watch this? =(

  • @AbnormAssassin I'm 11 and I understood the movie plot and moral perfectly fine. So open your mind before your mouth, and nothin's gonna harm you. (see what I did there?)

  • @AbnormAssassin I think it really depends on your maturity. (Let the record show I know how much people hate when you post your age on here, but I'm trying to make a point, so deal.) I'm twelve and very mature for my age, I see very far into the movie, not just that he kills random people. You know?

  • @AbnormAssassin Actually, I only just turned fourteen and I saw it before now. I understood it. Contrary to popular belief, not all young children are incapable of understanding things beyond their supposed maturity level.

  • @AbnormAssassin "Little children"? Of course... We're not stupid. I'm 13. I read Lord Of The Flies for fun., and understood the plot and meaning. I watched this quite some time ago. And understood. It depends on maturity. Do you think that when somebody turns a certain age they suddenly understand everything?

  • @AbnormAssassin

I'm twelve, and understand the plot and moral completely. Just because it is aimed for higher ages doesn't mean that younger ages won't be able to understand it. And BTW, twelve and thirteen is little or young. Though maybe when you were that age children were kept all cosy from the outside world but these days were are exposed to a lot.

  • "hey... dont i know u mister..."

  • HE kills his own wife... Todd NOOOO!!!!

  • BENJAMIN BARKER!

  • i love the ending i watched it last night toby is soo cute im 12 he proply doesnt want me

  • im 13, and Johnny Depp is such a GOD !

if ya know what i mean :)

    and will he love me...?

    you see, it wont be.

    but keep dreaming :)

    like me

  • @MissAmy96 was that kind of a poem? looks as if it was :)

  • @sweeneytoddfan24 ^^ who knows? xD find out his real name, maybe he's got facebook or something ;) good luck :D

  • I love 02:34

  • the beginning is sooo pretty... haunting, and Mrs Lovett being ll falsely sweet... when her voice choes I just shiver... I wouldn't have come out of hiding then if you gave me a million quid =P

  • Mrs lovett deserved what she got. those people wouldnt have died if she'd told sweeney the WHOLE truth. she only cared that she wanted sweeney.

    that's lust not love.

  • No, that's being ambitious. Ms. Lovett knew that if Todd knew that Lucy was alive, he would never even give her a second glance.

Ms. Lovett does love Todd. Which is why she didn't tell him the complete truth. :D

  • and she is fucking crazy

  • @Hazumuhime So much for love...

  • i just watched the play and i still think the movie is way better. i love the ending.

  • What I don't really get is why Lucy is trying to find Beadle. I understand that she went all loopy, but wasn't it Beadle who took her to Judge Turpin? Maybe I'm being stupid and she's looking for him because she is loopy but it still doesn't make much sense to me.

  • she's trying to find him to tell him about mrs. lovett and her pies because lucy actually knows what's going on but no one believes her because she doesn't quite have all her marbles

  • Oh, I see! Thank you.

  • Wow. When the both sing

    "REALLY LIVING IT!!!!"

Johnny's voice overpowers Helena's so much!

This music sends shivers up my spine.

    (In a good way)

  • @children280 i don´t want to spoil, but when you know what comes next you understand why his voice overpowers hers. it´s so cool, everytime i listen to it and this part is on you know immediately what comes next. or at 3:10, it´s the "and my lucy lies in ashes"- part and you know what he just did.... the music matches so perfectly, i just love it. i´m sorry if i made mistakes, i´m german :)

  • in 2:20 wat is she saying??

  • deedle deedle dumplin'

  • "little dumplin" i think?

  • In the song Lucy the Hag was singing beadle dumpling.

  • @killajw "Beadle, Beadle, Beadle! DEAR BEADLE!"

  • "Oh my GODDD!" Johnny's voice is amazing there. (:

  • Bengimen Barker...

    BENGIMEN BARKER!!!!

  • Mrs. Lovett just got FURNACE'D

    xD

  • LOL

  • LMFDO

  • lol I am the only one who finds the beggar woman a little scary? its her voice... and her eyes in the film... *shudders* poor Sweeney... poor Mrs Lovett... poor everyone... except Beadle and Turpin...

  • i HATE her voice in the movie lol

  • you think she's creepy here? You should see the stage show.

  • ms lovett-(softly) toby!? where are you love?

    Sweeney todd- (roughly) TOBY!!

AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO LAUGHED AT THE HEAVY CONTRAST THERE! ahahahahalol

  • i laughed too

  • "Tobyyy, where aarree you llovee??"

    reminds me of

    "Victor, where are you darling?"

(those who have seen corpse bride will know what i'm talking about. ;)

  • She plays the girl's voice from Corpse bride... That could probably be why. XD

  • @broadwaylova9999 i thought the exact same thing when i heard it. was doing burton night and watched the movies back to back. lol.

  • Maybe, but if he found her, there would be no story. Also, he was looking to find Lucy at the very beggining. He was hoping to come home to a wife and child. When he assumed she was dead, he gave up hope. The reason he didn't go out of his way to find Johanna is because he is afraid that she will remind him of Lucy too much. :)

  • I'd like to make a few points-

    1. The reason the blood is orange looking is because the movie is very dark. If it was more real looking, it would look like soy sauce.

    2. If Mrs. Lovett told Sweeney that his wife was alive, but gone mental, it would have destroyed him. Even if he is a serial killer, he has FEELINGS.

    3. I truly believe he would have been happier living with Mrs. Lovett even if he knew Lucy was alive. It would take FORVER to get her even close to the way she was.

  • Actually, the blood wouldn't look like soy sauce. The true color of real blood (not movie blood) is a little darker than what they have. It's a true red, not the liquid black red that they have.

  • never had dreams only nightmares

i play johanna in our school version

  • "Benjamin Barker...."

    "BENJAMIN BARKER!!!"

    *Rampant Stabbing*

  • Wait. Does the Beggar Woman live?

  • No, Sweeney slits her throat.

  • yahh he killed his owns wife ,,,, so sad :(

  • no and beggar woman is lucy sweeny's wife

  • well at least your ending had info about Johanna and Anthony. i hated that they never told you what happened to the kids

  • best movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it's one of the best movies ever!!

  • i think a sequel wud probs ruin it but still fun to imagine lol

  • The movie is BASED on Sweeney and his vengeance. Not the love that Anthony has for Johanna...what would happen to Sweeney anyway in your play? And I doubt you're doing a play, you're just so happy about th movie that you WANT to do a play.

  • I'm sorry that is a crappy ending. this story has so much darkness and so much death, the light in the story is the relationship between Anthony and Johanna. By killing them you would make the story unbearably dark. and also why would you even change sweeney todd in any way and for what?

  • She actually did lie, earlier in the movie, she told Sweeney to forget about Lucy because life is for the living.

  • It wasn't just the poison. It started with the rape, the loss of her husband and daughter, and she couldn't bear life anymore, so she took the poison. The with i's help she went to a depression/ insanity. If she had gotten back together with Todd, it might help, and shes improve over time but she might not ever fully recover. :(

  • " dont i know you sir " i'd guess she screwed her over somehow, she ended up owning sweenys old home while she became a vagabond whore, i just loved her lyrics though

  • she didnt know he was Barker, she wasnt even sure she knew him, still, if hed known it was her, chances are hed have killed everyone at bedlam

  • I think Todd would still loved his wife. Listen to the way he sings at the end, the way his holding her too. Love is a powerful feeling. Todd truly loved Lucy. Also after all he has done. I think he'd want Johanna to have a better life without knowing who he really was. That's just my opinion though.

  • I agree fully!

  • how 'bout a shave?

  • every time i try to imitate Todd's singing when he's holding his wife i can't b/c it sounds so sad. Johnny Depp pulls it off incredibly

  • i cant help but laugh when lucy is sayin' beadle bamford in the place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 its physco! :D poor thing. i really luv this!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6:35

I love the Way Mrs. Lovett sings =]

  • I dont think Toby can sing like that, because he hit a note that i cant even hit, and im usually a really good singer. But i know all the others can sing that wonderfully (if thats even a word)

  • this movie is really good

  • this movie was great and so are the songs

  • i do too.

but it was kind of for a good reason...

  • agreed...

    mann his life has sucked.

  • Hell, I'd be pissed too if she lied to me about my wife and kids, whom I've loved so much and longed to be with them after years, just so she can get with me.

At that point of the movie, I was like, "KILL THAT BITCH!"

  • wow......

    That's....extremely annoying....

  • XD u cant here him killing Turpin AWW!

  • Sweeney is a LIAR !

Johanna is not below, she is in the box.

    IN THE BOX !!!!

    lol.

  • Lol!!!

I keep stopping to look at what u said XD

  • WaterShina Lucy is his wife, Johanna was his daughter.

  • his wife's name is lucy not johanna

  • Yes. He was singing about Anthony's Johnanna.

    That was his daughter.

Lucy Barker (the crazy old woman) is (was) his wife.

Mrs. Lovett told him Lucy didn't die.

  • at the end of the movie eveyone dies!!but i still love it

  • I still don't get why this film is an 18 lol!

when Toby kills Sweeney it's quite strange because he stretches his neck as though he knows he's there and he wants it to happen.

  • Sweeney does want Toby to kill him because he killed Lucy, so he has no more purpose in living.

  • thats very correct, he realises that he's lost his reason to live. he realises how horrific his actions have been and also notices Toby creeping up behind, so he bares his neck for toby to slit.

  • Sweeney wanted to die, and he knew Toby was going to do it for him? That's my theory. Lol. Although, I wish it didn;t end right as Toby walked away. I'd love too know how Johanna and Anthony ended up. And what ever happens to Toby. There should be a sequel, about Anthony and Johanna. That'd be fantastic. :D

  • I totally agree! "Toby's Revenge" sounds like an awesome sequel lmao. Thanks guys for helping me understand it a bit more lol

  • Lol. They probably will make one, something like that. Probably that exact naming. Because it just ended, not telling how Johanna&Anthony went on. That usually ends up a sequel. Hopefully! :]

  • ACE! I'd watch it hehe.

  • well seeing as how Sweeney is a play they prolly wont make a another, but it might have been interesting...They play I saw was pretty cool and the movie was almost spot on with everything :)

  • The thing is they CANT make a sequal. It is based of a broadway musical that didnt have a sequal which was based of a story called the string of pearls.

  • or maby the string of pearls is based on sweeney todd!!!!!!*dramatic music*!!!!!!!!!!

  • No it actually is the other way around. Ive been doing some research lately.

  • no way. tim burton would never allow such a thing. sequels ruin original movies most of the time or never can reach the quality of the original

  • The play does continue for a bit more than the movie did. Toby went nuts from having witnessed so much horror and murder. After he slit Todd's throat, the police busted in with Anthony and Johanna as he stood there holding the razor. He mumbled incoherent bits of dialogue before walking over to and using Ms. Lovett's grinder, telling them the secret to her pies was to, 'grind the meat three times'.

  • i think the point is that he wanted it, and accepted his fate, because as implied in other songs, they all deserve to die, even himself, and he couldn't accept what he had done to his wife, so he was better off dead, and thats why he doesnt scream when he dies
