I just maked the ping pong smoke bomb. It worked fine... Just see the "How to make a smoke bomb 2" video her eon youtube to see how to do it

With the attempted "cooking" version of the smoke bomb, the vital mistake was obviously you cooked it at a very high heat. Idealy, you should heat it on a low heat. Perfect colour/consistency is Peanut Butter like.

the reason it didnt work, is the that you some how let the fire touch the ping-pong ball,ou dont do that, but other than that, it was kinda good.
