Sweden was the better team in this game and truly deserved the win!

And FYI, the free kick was a beaty, the thing about it was to fool your keeper, wich we did! ;) Ravelli was lightyears better than yuor keeper.

@dartilla I can agree concerning the goalkeeper - Prunea was a shithead who cost his team the semifinals - but I have to say that Romania played better overall. Raducioiu's two goals were simply breathtaking, and Romania's progress through the group stage and against Argentina in the round of 16 was absolutely marvellous. Had Romania played Stelea or Duckadam as their goalkeeper, Andersson would never have scored that late equalizer.

Our freekick and Anderssons header, thoose goals were breathtaking! Both teams played good but only one team can win, and we did. sry..

@dartilla Well, it's a personal opinion and not the divine truth - but Anderssons header wouldn't have gone in if Prunea would've had the guts to take two steps forward and catch the ball. His hesitation enabled, in my opinion, the equalizer.

As for the free-kick, it was creative and nice, if somewhat unconventional. The conclusion of CNN, however, was that Romania deserved the win.

@dartilla After the 4-1 defeat against Switzerland in the group stage, goalkeeper Bogdan Stelea was replaced by Prunea... who quickly proved his ineptitude by first allowing the Argentinians to score their second goal in the round of sixteen and then handing the equalizer to Kennet Andersson on a silver plate. Even if Stelea had not saved Andersson's header, I'm quite convinced he would've saved at least one penalty.

@Skrangelben A penalty is never a good way to estimate which was the better team. Both teams proved they worked well under pressure with equalizers in literally the eleventh hour (Raducioiu in the 88th and Andersson in the 115th). Still, both teams played well, and if there is one thing that might've influenced the outcome, it would be if midfielder Popescu would've taken Petrescu's penalty.

@Skrangelben That's not what CNN thought. Their commentators were of the opinion that Romania played better and deserved to win.

I don't know what to say myself, I believe both teams played equally well, but don't use the penalty shootout as evidence of Sweden being better. A penalty shootout is a bit like Russian roulette - pretty much anything can happen.

sweden plays this game better and had more chanses to win during full time. The Goalkeeper Thomas Ravelli is the difference in the shootout and it has nothing to do with luck. Skills. Swedens nationalteam was at the top of their career-94. and will never reach that standard again.

Even though I think Sweden played this game better, Romania did a better tournament overall.

And this game is a great one, with the two best players of the tournament, Hagi and Brolin, getting to show their greatness.
