Hmm just a guess.. you used still images for background and recorded him infront of a greenscreen? Then added Particles to achieve more "3dness" with the still images? This is just awesome hope ill be that good with my friends someday

Hmmm... For me personaly it loses quite a lot of magic, because I know where a lot of the effects have their origin in tutorials and specific plug ins and stuff.

I'm always interested in how to transport flat 2D images in living 3D environments and that was truely amazing. Looks hot!

I have seen this technique before and if I remember correctly, it is done with multiple still cameras with wires and is then either manipulated in post for the movement or is just moved a tiny bit during the actual shooting.
