Haha the trailer is shit. What the hell is the film about???? All I know is that it was her birthday, she likes a guy, and hates the guy she is with.....
@CJEChurchill She isn't 'with' him, he just has the hots for her. It's just an 80s story about a snarky, apathetic teen who has a crush on a guy. That's...well, that's basically it.
The 90s were good, I was a teen in the 90s, but I was a youngster in the 80s since I was born in 1975, I do remember watching all these movies on the big screen though.
I doubt it, plastic surgery was much rarer back then, especially among teenagers.
Keep in mind that in this film she was supposed to be an ugly duckling and in that one she was supposed to be an upper class beauty queen. Because of that, the make-up and photography used in each film were different.
Yea but having no technology or phones was also good when i was a kid too, parents never knew where I was. I was gone for 2 weeks once and dad didn't even know!
I was a high school teen when these movies came out. It's nice to look back in nostalgia, but the 80's were an ugly time. Reagonomics was destroying the Middle Class; the Berlin Wall was still standing; AIDS reared it's ugly head; and we lived in fear of nuclear war because of tensions between the USA and the former Soviet Republic. So, the music was cool and the movies rocked, but life wasn't that great. For you youngin's on here: there were No computers, No internet, No cell phones, etc.
I agree kids now adays would have no idea what to without cell phones. I took a while for me to get into cell phones. I only really wanted one because everyone else did. I think it's more habit. You get too used to relying in technology. I never grew up in the 80's mainly the 90's but then they didn't have anywhere near as much technology as now. Seemed like everyone survived back then. And although there were quite a few situations where a cell phone would have been handy, it wasn't that bad.
How long silence on this Syrian regime offender there is no reform after the killing of people can not a terrorist regime repressive to lead the reforms that leave will not be pleased with the Syrian people without the leave of this dictator and his associates of the Iranian regime the offender and the Hezbollah, which is his international threat to the peace process is the source and the coach of the terrorists The assassins and the organizers of assassinations in the Middle East and the world
@brandonchasseur2205 so you'd be about 40-50 years old now!!! id love to have experienced the 60's and 70's too, even the 'back to the future' 50's with swing dancing and big skirts! but then i think jesus, id nearly be retired now at this stage!!!and im only 25!! in 20 years kids will be wishing they were born in our time, so then you can tell your kids what a great time you had and let them be jealous of you! :-)
@SkyhighBryguy Better perhaps for movies but there's a lot more cool technology now days. There was no YouTube in the 80's either...really the internet was just becoming usable back then. Don't get me wrong, the culture from the 80's looks awesome but I also love the luxuries of living now.
@SkyhighBryguy hey man i was born in 95 and i feel the same way i have always wished i was in high school during the 80's just wait though when we have kids or at least generations from know there gonna be like "this sucks i wish i was born in the 90's and went to school in the 00's" its just how it works
@SkyhighBryguy hey man i was born in 95 and i feel the same way i have always wished i was in high school during the 80's just wait though when we have kids or at least generations from know there gonna be like "this sucks i wish i was born in the 90's and went to school in the 00's" its just how it works
@lavendertwilight08 I see your point if you're referring to this movie, it was abit 'vulgar', it wasn't Hughes' best but it wasn't bad either. The fact is literally 100's of 80's movies are classics, they are remembered with great fondness. Why do you see so many comments nowadays from people wishing we still had great movies & even teens saying they wish they'd grown up in the 80's?! The 2000's was terrible for movies/music...& it's getting worse, ALL movies now are 'stupid, vulgar & false'.
@robhere1982 The only reason people hate the 2000s is becase the movies aren't vulgar. The 80s got away with so many disgusting comments most of the films have swearing in heach sentence!
@lavendertwilight08 I don't agree, you mustn't have watched many movies from 2000 to the present. Most of them aimed at teens are borderline porn & seem to encourage the 'me first' & 'I'm a little Celebrity mentality' that is ruining society... mix that with 'PG' porno music videos that are depressing to watch & are hammering home the message that if you wanna be 'cool' dress like a slut & act like one is it any wonder people hate what the media is pushing on us now!
@robhere1982 The music videos are disgusting, I will agree. But I think most of the films are decent, yes they imply sex but the ones that are R rated are just like these films from the 80s. I could never watch this with my parents!
Why the heck was this movie PG? I can't remember if they had PG-13 at this point, but still...I think this was less kid-friendly than the Breakfast Club, which is rated R.
@elteescat it's unproductive, but I do spend a lot of my time wishing I was born in the seventies so could be a teenager in the eighties. The '10s don't suit me.
Okay, I was a teen in the 80s. Being a teen sucks pretty much at any age, but I will say the 2000's were really bad in a lot of ways. From my perspective, life seemed better then, less stressful, certainly not as brutal. Today's technology is great, but we've also lost the ability to really interact with people (applying for jobs online, WTF?). I'd have to say the 70s, 80s, and 90s were the best decades of my life. I'm afraid from here on out it's going to be shit...
@TheMasterofbows UMMM iz U blind or just flat out STUPID????? How can jus sit there and say the 80s hairstyles were bad? All women do now is a run brush thru their hair all day and then leave it alone...bac then they would have them big hot lookin ass poofs that are way way better looking than the style today!!!
She is the hottest RED HEAD in the entire World!!! You know what they say "Red Heads are the horniest girls" hahaha man i would eat her up everyday til my tongue fell off.
I was born in 1998 but would give anything to be born in 1968. I love the 80s music and movies! And some of the electronics! For example I love 80s boom-boxes! I also like cassettes!(not sure why) even know there out. All my friends make fun of me for liking the 80s I don't know why. My favorite 80s movie is license to drive and favorite 80s song is dream a little dream of me.
BTW: I love the part of sixteen candles when the 3 kids all are wearing 80s sunglasses and turn turn to each other.
if you people who say you wish you were an 80s kid, then you'd be older than you are now, have jobs and careers and kids and shit, and "responsibilities". its not as if these films will go away! enjoy life while your young and stop wishing 10 years on yourselves!!!!!
@ursulade True we would be older but it's not like we would have skipped any years. We would still have gone through and had the experiences that we will from now to 10 years from now. I honestly wouldn't mind being in my mid-thirties right now if I experienced life in the 80's. The world is only getting worse and technology is setting us back instead of pushing us forward.
@mariamalelli well, fair enough, but you might aswell appreciate what you have now, cos you'll never get to experience the 80s... but i do agree i wish it were possible! except id love to go back to the "roaring twenties" or even the old west, just for a week! :)
@mariamalelli Well good news, my channel is a time portal back to the 80's, check it out. It also has links to plenty of classic 80's movies that have been uploaded onto youtube by different people (the entire movie).
I grew up in the 80's, and I wouldn't take anything in exchange for having grown up then, it was an amazing time. Honestly though, you can't take a modern kid and throw them back there; they wouldn't survive. No internet, no cell phones (only the rich) most people didn't have Cable T.v. and there were only 7 channels (and one of those was PBS) . Then late at night most of those channels went off the air and you had to wait until morning to watch T.v. again. Hahaha
I like all the Ringwald movies, i just hate the endings. She doesn't end up with the nerd, the bestfriend or anything. Breakfast Club doesn't count they didn't end up together she just kissed him. it's dissapointing,
lool 2000's isnt tht bad id rather live nw than then cz if we where bk then we couldnt c wat was going 2 happen now...but because we live in the 2000's we can watch back on what happend before n if we all felt the same way we could all re-live it :)
@lasse4eva you don't understand that the 80s is the time that a lot of people want to be in right now and your happy with the shit that the 2000s has i mean who needs face book internet and all that shit
people want to be in the 80's cuz they think it's gonna be better. Better how? People didn't even appreciate the stuff they listened to in the 80's until now. Wanna now why? Wanna why people have this illusion that life yesterday is better than life today? Nostalgia. Look it up kid.
Btw what I like in the 80s and 90s movies is that it's more realistic; no 25 yrs old entirely waxed and overprepped top models to play simple teenagers. Less Photoshoped / politically correct / hygienical.
I'm turning sixteen in THREE days! Ah! I have watched this since I was SIX! I hope my birthday doesn't go that bad >< I mean... the end isn't so bad ;D
@santacruz474 Well, im a kid in this geeration (11) Do not feel bad. Okay? Seriously,Most kids think this is crap compared to the high quality,3-D stuff we've got now. I love 80' movies an all theother moves from way back forever ago! But times are changing. There maein them better. Get over yourself. There's nothing to feel bad about. So stop whineing and do smething other than sit on thecouch an watch movies!
@xxxYummyXCupcakexxx After reading your reply I DO FEEL BAD for your generation IN fact I feel worst. No manners, so disrespectful and you`re only 11 years old. I wonder what the future holds for you and your GENERATION.
There was only one problem with being a 90s kid. That problem is having to spend your teenaged years in the 2000's. Thats one of the reasons i wish i was born in the early 80's instead of 1991. That way i could've spent my childhood in the 80's and teenage years in the 90's.
@TheRealTDITilly Yeah, I would agree. 2000's was probably the worst decade of my life. lost both my dad and my mom, lost jobs, felt like I was going nowhere. Still feel that way. :(
@22marce1994 That comment was messed up man. I meant I didn't like the 2000s because I hated most of what went on during the decade. The media, disasters and the goverment is still as fucked up (if not more) then it was in the 90s
@TheRealTDITilly oh man i know, i was born in 92 and i would have loved to live during the 80's, all it was was star wars, tron, arcades and nice cars.
@elteescat I agree. I was a teen in the 80's too. Remember when we could watch tv all night with no reality Tv and hang out with friends, and not have to worry about all the crap they have to worry about now. We still did stupid things but not like the kids now. AND we still respected our parents cause we knew we would get our asses busted if we did not. not abuse it was called discipline!!!

@lasse4eva you don't understand that the 80s is the time that a lot of people want to be in right now and your happy with the shit that the 2000s has i mean who needs face book internet and all that shit
kasatkin1000 11 months ago 3
@kasatkin1000
people want to be in the 80's cuz they think it's gonna be better. Better how? People didn't even appreciate the stuff they listened to in the 80's until now. Wanna now why? Wanna why people have this illusion that life yesterday is better than life today? Nostalgia. Look it up kid.
lasse4eva 11 months ago
I was a teen during the 90s, and it wasn't that great. The 70s and 80s were the best times to be a teenager and young adult.

seems funny, a bit like Pretty in Pink maybe?
Btw what I like in the 80s and 90s movies is that it's more realistic; no 25 yrs old entirely waxed and overprepped top models to play simple teenagers. Less Photoshoped / politically correct / hygienical.

santacruz474 1 year ago 2
@santacruz474 Well, im a kid in this geeration (11) Do not feel bad. Okay? Seriously,Most kids think this is crap compared to the high quality,3-D stuff we've got now. I love 80' movies an all theother moves from way back forever ago! But times are changing. There maein them better. Get over yourself. There's nothing to feel bad about. So stop whineing and do smething other than sit on thecouch an watch movies!

There was only one problem with being a 90s kid. That problem is having to spend your teenaged years in the 2000's. Thats one of the reasons i wish i was born in the early 80's instead of 1991. That way i could've spent my childhood in the 80's and teenage years in the 90's.

bewareoftheleapard 1 year ago
@bewareoftheleapard why did it suck to be a teenager in the 2000's? Because it pretty much sucked in my opinion
TheRealTDITilly 1 year ago
@TheRealTDITilly Yeah, I would agree. 2000's was probably the worst decade of my life. lost both my dad and my mom, lost jobs, felt like I was going nowhere. Still feel that way. :(

@22marce1994 That comment was messed up man. I meant I didn't like the 2000s because I hated most of what went on during the decade. The media, disasters and the goverment is still as fucked up (if not more) then it was in the 90s
TheRealTDITilly 1 year ago
@TheRealTDITilly oh man i know, i was born in 92 and i would have loved to live during the 80's, all it was was star wars, tron, arcades and nice cars.
squatchmaster5000 1 year ago
@TheRealTDITilly Or even better, be born in the early 70's so you could spend your teen years in the EIGHTIES!! Like I did!! =D
elteescat 10 months ago
@elteescat I agree. I was a teen in the 80's too. Remember when we could watch tv all night with no reality Tv and hang out with friends, and not have to worry about all the crap they have to worry about now. We still did stupid things but not like the kids now. AND we still respected our parents cause we knew we would get our asses busted if we did not. not abuse it was called discipline!!!
