  • This must have been groundbreaking in 83.

  • One of my favorite games.

  • good old Vector graphic's ; ) what a great use of overlay thanks for the vid

  • @Bag0HaZe

Only the cube itself had vector graphics. The rest of the game like the ship and other object uses polygons.

  • hhmmmm This is the arcade version? In mame it runs a little slower. At least for me it does,

  • It is the MAME Version. Just need a fast computer to run it.

  • Man, I could remember back in the day when this game came out, after seeing pictures of it in computer magazines, I would constantly make a fuss of how much I wanted to play it. No matter where I looked, it was never to be found.

  • the backgrounds look gorgeous

  • where can i get this game for my PC, and how can i preserve the backgrounds?

  • You can't. It's a laserdisc game, however, it is emulated in MAME.

  • @bancoran Has anyone dumped that LD yet?

  • @antdude You can get it as a CHD. Either Torrent it, or try retroroms(dot)com. You'll have to sign up, but it's free and reliable. I've converted the dump to a 770MB AVI file, and I've been trying to extract sections to use as animated GIFs, but the actual background sequences are juddery, probably because they were supposed to play in a loop.

  • @bancoran Ah thanks. :) Is it playable though? I read it isn't.

  • @antdude It is playable on MAME, but you need a very fast computer.

  • @bancoran How fast? Is a quad-core Intel Q8200 fast enough? :P

  • @antdude Oh hell yes. Just make sure you've got pounds of memory as well.

  • @bancoran 2 GB?

  • Great game, I hope I can play this on DAPHNE, love it!!

  • Wow, a lasergame that is actually interactive!

Someone should've made a conversion for Sega CD, CDI, 3DO, Saturn or PS1. I bet it would've been popular.

  • nowadays, it would still be worth porting for Wii, 360, PSP, PS3, and/or DSi.

  • They should port the game, but they haven't considered it since it barely survived. Until it was emulated only 2 known machines in the entire world were in operation. The emulation was pretty miraculous. It was difficulty copying the eproms without damaging the machine.

  • STFU, don't play video game then.

  • Saw this on Starcade! Wished that it would had been more popular but problem was. Not enough games were produced. Pity! Had there been enough games, then it would have been popular!

  • Has anyone actually beaten this impossible game?

  • I have actually. Been trying to capture it on video. It doesn't do anything special.

It shows the ending movie on the 2nd attract mode. (Rainbows with the ship flying into the game cabinet lol). Spinning the cube seems random sometimes so you don't always get the same outcome.
