  • I want to make this!

  • @BlubberOwl I know you were talking to someone else, but yes, it is hard!

  • Check out my rubbish channel.

  • Woooww :'D So amazingg ! Such a BEAUTIFUL instrument <3

  • always wanted to know how to make a violin! amazing

    :)

  • Amazing!

  • Wow, i had no idea the bridge was held into place w/o the glue.

  • i wish i played the violin. i play flute.

  • How nice to see something made by craftsmen after watching the "How It's Made" video where bread was produced that was untouched by human hands!

  • The Cremona myth!

The oldest depicturing of a 'modern' violin is to find on medieval frescos in the Antwerp cathedral - also plenty paintings proove the violin to be common in The Netherlands before the 15th century - lately, an original Antwerp violin was shown to leading violin experts - some even said it were an original Stradivari!

  • How is called the tool the introduce the little cylinder that is placed inside the violin?, Answer me please.

  • @abrahamserven12 the cylinder is called a sound post

  • Wait, so they show how to make the bows, but when it comes to brass instruments they don't show anything about the mouthpiece?

  • How its made marimba!!! Go percussion !!!!

  • Called the f-holes... =0

  • Finger..

    Ebony..

    Hard wood..

TO WITHSTAND CENTURIES OF VIOLINIST FINGERING....

    This is wrong... haha

  • AWESOME!!!

  • I play cello but this is very cool. I usual fix the instruments So I know slot about them

  • F WHOLES HAHA I GET IT! im smart...

  • dam never knew violin is so complex to mkae and its hard to play i play it first chair 2nd violin

  • now i love to play violin even more now that i know that the bow is also made of my favorite gem stone pearl :D

  • It's amazing that it's all handmade

  • I am happy I am playing violin

Thumbs up if you do play violin too

  • @ayano973 I would love to learn how to play.

  • @ayano973 is it hard to play?

  • @ayano973 no more thumbs up but i do play the violin

  • peg whole raper i think thats what the speaker said :P

  • F-Holes are named that because of the pattern design, they look like a scripted lowercase letter F. Musicians should also realize, that he "f" depicted here, is the musical notation "forte".

  • Cool, I got a cheap beginner's violin :(, but if I get any good with the one I have, I'll buy myself a gift and get one more expensive.

  • F holes lol

  • @PrizeeGiveAwayz another orchestra joke is third finger on the g string

    get it.

  • Comment removed

  • violins are sometimes used in metal music too btw

  • @skull9111 Actually they're not. Either samples of them or a synth player generates a string sound to make a violin but I am yet to see any actual metal violinists.

  • The chepeast you can find are bad student violins for 900$ Our country neighbor is a violin maker and his cheapest is 17,000$

  • 2:29 F holes. Like the Fucking Hoes.

  • Like if you heard "assholes" on 2:30!!

  • Wow this is like the HIGHEST end of Violins. The Violin in this video is probably a expert or intermediate violin for like 5 thousand dollars. I know my violin was put together in a factory in China in a mere 10 seconds lol

  • Violins are awesome!!! Like if you agree!!! :D

  • If they are hand made, why is a left handed violin more expensive? Should be as easy to put a sound post on the left side as the right side. A left handed person is being taken advantage of. Maybe they are made by robots.?

  • @ralph5656 Right handed is alot more common, so you can make em in large amounts, but left handed prolly are made in pretty low quantity, so price is higher... as you know, buy one bow for like 10euros, buy 10bows for like 60-70euros....

  • @ralph5656 I happen to be left handed and play a 'right handed' violin. I cannot imagine playing with a left handed violin. that would feel so weird now that I've been playing with a right handed one. Lefties are sort of at an advantage when playing with a right handed violin.

FYI people, yes it's called and F hole. Deal with it.

I wonder if someone named it that on purpose -.-

  • @baccdaggthr I happen to be left handed AND play left handed. I have to ask why do people play right handed if its so easy to play the opposite way and be such an advantage. Why everyone should be able to play BOTH ways and then they would be REAL musicians!

  • @baccdaggthr i play a left handed violin right handed...i feel uncomfortable playing right handed violins even though i am right handed, luckily i was passed a lefty violin that was my great great grandfathers!

  • Hi everybody! I beguin in fruity loops. Come check my hip hop beats and let comments! thanks.

  • @daisydigal

You can play if you are left handed but you either have to have it custom made or have a trained person remove the strings and restring them from E string to G string instead of G to E

  • @sansmojo Funny thing is, the holes are called 'F' holes. xD

  • I now know why violins are so damn expensive...

  • @stinko444 they're nt expensive actually a bit cheap

  • @interactionbeebo Defy cheap because iv been toying with the idea of getting a violin and most of the decent ones I saw where pretty expensive like 400-500 dollars 0o (The violin would not be my first instrument btw)

  • I don't understand... What idiot didn't use violin music for the backing track to this video?

Of all the common sense decisions...

  • @SkN003 Funny I play violin too. I live in the U.S., but my violin was made in Romania.

  • No you have to play as if you were right handed

  • i wanna ask,, if there is a violin for a left handed, who doesnt want to practice a violin facing on the left.. coz im very comfortable facing on the right..

  • @Daisydigal this question is kinda confusing..you play violin on the left side

  • f-hole..fingerboard...peg hole* raper.. O_o

  • f-hole..fingerboard...peg hold raper.. O_o

  • oops i think the replay button and like button are dead!

  • my fave how to make vid! :-D

  • f-hole... fingerboard...

  • Wowwww you guys are like what?? Five for fighting on YouTube.. yeahh the things are called f holes and yeahh some people giggle now and then. I've been playing violin since I was 4 and now I'm 15 and every once and a while I still giggle soooo who cares if people do giggle it's not YOUR problem if they do..

  • @HIMADESU223 thx for offerin to help but i finished my project :) <3

  • he said f-holes at 2:30

  • Great!

  • Great!

  • I am not trying to be a immature person, but however, I found something rather entertaining. Click on the CC button and click "Transcribe Audio". See what happens.

  • A peg hole raper?

  • He forgot metal. It's used in metal sometimes.

  • Wow. Now that is a beautiful instrument. I just saw the 'making piano' vid and this looks so much easier...not easier to play though. LOL.

  • did he say the noise escapes through the f-holes?? lol

  • @mrwwelover101 shut it ass wipe

  • @Peace1Wolf i didnt know that was the name for it sorry. i have only been playing for around 3 or 4 years

  • @mrwwelover101

Yeah, he did say that, probably because that's true, and they're called f-holes.

    What are you, five?

  • I have been watching this over and over...

  • the main reason I use rosin is so the violin will make noise... lol.

  • @AmaingItalianGirl, @SolidSould40373 Actually, nails were traditionally used to help secure the neck to the body, so that statement isn't true anyhows. There are loads of Stainers, Strads and others that have nails.

  • @Rebeasta Yes, I am a luthier, and it is essential to first rape the holes. Don't forget the part about centuries of fingering ;)

  • F holes!!!!!! hahahahahaha

  • Love it!

  • 1:51 ...i see a screw i thought they dident use them!!!!! :{D

  • @Brensta18 thats just a fake model, not part of the finished violin at all

  • at :35 - :40 *violin makers never use nails or screws*

4:20 - 4:40 *they tighten the screw* *controls blah blah*

i thought that they dont use screws? XD

  • @SolidSoul40373 it's the screw of the bow not the violin

i thought you were listening? XD

  • @Jeeyo12345 still when he said it he ment no screws wut so ever :/ I WIN

  • @SolidSoul40373 because he's referring to the violin itself, not the bow. get it?

  • @Jeeyo12345 i know lol *im being sarcastic about older comments*

  • @SolidSoul40373 wtf haha

  • @SolidSoul40373 the screw is on the bow smart ass not the violin

  • @AmazingItalianGirl if u read past comments u would c i put *sarcasm* dumbfuck

  • @SolidSoul40373 wtf? oh that was my stupid cousin Mike... he doesn't know the difference between sarcasm and seriousness, and he's my age, he always goes on my account when he's @ my house

  • @AmazingItalianGirl hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Good.

  • those numb chucks drove me nuts

  • I feel bad that it takes that long to make one. Now I feel guilty about it because I have a violin. :)$(:

  • pfft..I made one when I was 5. Easy.

  • O.o

  • its absolutely beutiful...

now i can't spell properly, i wish i could learn one... omg, i relly want 2...

  • wow that is awesome! i've played the violin for so long but i've never really thought about how they make one.

  • Wow.

  • ugh, they didnt even go to the violin making school in cremona.

  • like a harry potter wand :)

  • เยื่ยมมาก

  • @BallsGJC ?

  • And if your skilled and can spend everyday working on your violin you may get a reasonable instrument in about a month. XD. I have plans to try to make one one day. nmmm i need a teacher. :(

  • Comment removed

  • coolioz. i want 1

  • I want to work there so when I make one, I can sneak it to my car.

  • @MrOzMendez : I would SO TOTALLY sneak that baby to my car! But I play Viola, so I'd just totally make a bigger one and add a C string instead :) ,

  • THEY DONT USE NAILS OR SCREWS PAUSE AT 1:52 LOOK THERE IS A NAIL

  • @ThePatrickStarShow But it's not the actual violin

  • @ThePatrickStarShow lols :)

That's not the actual instrument though. its just a mold they use to shape the instrument.

  • I have a question

the quality of the sound of violin comes from where the strings or the body itself because what if I bought a cheap violin and replaced the string with a better one so will it be good??/

  • @nyks114

It will sound better but ultimately it relies on the wood as well.

  • @nyks114 Well... with a better string you will get a better sound, of course... aniway, if the violin itself is poor qualited, the great strings will only make it sound a bit better.

Everything in the violin affects the final sound: the violin itself, the strings, the bridge, the bow... but the most important part is that the violinist hand is what gives the perfect sound. A good player with a poor violin can make cool things.

  • @nyks114 If the instrument is of low quality the strings will not make a big difference. Do not think you can buy a cheap $80 violin and get $400 dollar strings and think you will sound good. Gliga makes good instruments for a reasonable price. You could also try asking at a local violin shop. There is a lot to think about when your getting a new violin including your price range, the type of sound you want, etc.

  • It does not matter if he tunes it or not,it will just have to be retuned in 45 min.

When you get your violn for the first time first thing you get to know is how to tune. You will tune this about 5-7 times the first time.

When you first pick it up tune.

    Befor a peace you tune.

    After a peace tune.

Befor you put it away tune just to keep up.

  • Uhh don't they need to be tuned?

  • f hole?

  • @themudball f holes. LOL

  • i have a violin and i can play an irish dancing song and if u have a violin thumbs up

  • Someday I will have one of those......

  • One thing. Where is the fine tuners? I didn't see any

  • poor of my violin LOL but for some reason my private tutor told me that a good violin doesn't have those split things at the back but still its pretty awesome to see how they make one ^_^

  • Free energy has been here all along ,But the Big corporations spend millions to ensure that information does not spread to the masses,Get a motor that needs no gas or electric input at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Join the revolution!

  • woah that's why theres a kinda obvious split in the wood on my violin....

  • wow...knowing my violin went through all that is scary lmao

  • i play the violin now i want to make one

  • I want to be a violin maker just so I can make my own!
