It's taken me 22 years to decide what my favourite song ever is (not an easy question when asked) but i've decided that this is it, And this happens to be the best live version of it. Therefore this is the best video on Youtube.........
this rocks...a lot of their live stuff (in my opinion) is played too fast; adrenaline I guess...but this is played just right and keeps the swinging tempo of the studio version. these vh-1 performances are some of my favorite ac/dc vids.
Brian Brian Brian.....Please stop killing Bon's songs fffs! This is Bon's song about him and his girlfriend. It's a personal song to Bon and Brian should just fuck off and keep to his stuff. Seriously.
@Stain92able - Don't get me wrong fella. I do want to hear these songs live but Gone Shootin' is so personal to Bon (read up about what it's about) and Powerage is such an underrated album that it should remain a song for those of us that love Bon and really really get Powerage.
I also hate to hear Brian sing Rosie. It's another song that is part of Bon's life story and should remain his and his alone.
@Syze1 Yeah thats fair enough, i just think it would be more of a sucker punch to Bon if they didn't play his songs live. I was born over 20 years to late to see Bon perform but from the videos I've seen he's was an excellent and charismatic front man. Also its mostly Bons songs that really are the dogs bollocks in the live show.
Usually I accept the opinion of others. On this occasion I can't accept that. Brian CAN NOT do justice to most of Bon's songs. It's that simple. However, if you really feel Brian does this better then I feel a bot sorry for you :)
@Syze1 i really do! bon was an amazing performer, but some of the things he wore were a bit flashy and i hate to say it, but a bit camp, i think brian suits ACDC more!
Hardly think jeans and a denim cut-off were a bit flashy. Camp maybe but 100% man and as previously stated most of AC/DC's killer songs are penned by Bon. Rock in Peace Bon. You're a God.
this is one of the best rock n roll songs ever. unbelievably relaxing song ! I listen to ACDC for quite a long time, about 2 years. Just now I found this song. I guess we always come back to their discography and discover something more. :X Totally love it.
Sometimes I just lay in bed and listen to this song on full volume. I still can't understand why they are so awesome. no other musician will ever come close to having half the talent that these guys have. It's been my favorite band since I was 6 and that will never change. They inspire the shit out of me. AC/DC will never die.
This is My favourite song of all time, Its taken me 20 yrs to find it, but its easily "gone shootin" by AC/DC. This is my Favourite version of it. Therefore my favourite video on Youtube. Nothing comes close to this band.
I would be surpised if they had ever done this song with Brian, and even after all of these years, look how tight it is. And listen to Malcoms guitar growl at :14. Same with "Riff Raff." I dont think that they had ever done that with Brian either. But still, very tight and right on the money!
Acdc is the best band of all time! They r the reason I picked up a guitar. Nowadays ppl like all this fake and dumb shit like rap. It's great to see there r still some ppl with good taste in music. Ride on ACDC!! We salute you
there are 5 people out there who have no soul. i am 19, been an acdc fan for life, and 90% of my school likes that hip hop and rap shit. so a men to acdc for keepin the rock n roll alive! they are the best band ever hands down, and ive had the privelage to have seen them live twice.....ride on bon and dont stop rockin AC/DC!!!!
So someone on YouTube was telling me that Phil Rudd sucks, he only knows one beat, and Chris Slade blows him away. Huh?!?! Some people are just idiots I guess....
@cocoazedodoinferno angus is god with the guitar... but look at malcolm.. there, on the right of phil rudd.. with this wanderfull stil... i don't know, but i'm in love in the way that malcolm plays... sorry for my english.. i'm from catalonia
Fantastic blues/rock song performed by the best heavy rock n roll band ever. Great to see these rare small venue/studio versions too, looks like they were having a ball.
@010203040000 Så vil jeg hellere hører det jeg har på pc'en :P Jeg har jo det mega fede oplevelse som jeg aldrig vil glemme :D Men... Du ved... Det typiske med bands er jo, at de er bedre når de er i studiet end live :P
From what I read, the band was only supposed to play 4 songs at this VH1 deal, but they ended up playing 12 cos they were having such a good time, which you can see for sure!
listen to this fucking Phil Rudd, hes the fucking greatest drummer in the world, bloody hell when he starts in im getting goose bumps every fucking time i watch it! glad they got him back in 1995... Phil rules. Angus does, Brian does, Malcolm and Cliff do. AC/DC rules! AC/DC forever!!!!!
@ballbreaker311 I agree. Quite possibly the greateast drummer ever. Just seeing him come in at :25 gives me chills. Being a drummer myself, I have always modeled my playing after Phil's,
@LittleAngus1 I agree that John Bonham was great as well, but Keith Moon was more of a swing style drummer, which did work within The Who's music, but I am not a fan ot his. Charlie Watts and Phil Rudd, those guys you could set your watch to. Trust me, again as a drummer myself, Phil IS that good!
@resqfireman don't listen to these clowns. I love Bonzo and I love the Loon, but they are great with their respective bands. It's hard to quantify drummers because they all do it a different way. You'll notice that Phil has toned down his style since the 70s. Some of AC/DC's early tracks had him playing Bonzo-esque fills. Brad Wilk, Robbie Bachman and Bill Berry are some good cats too.
@resqfireman Couldn't agree more. I love the way Phil locks himself into the groove of a song. Great drumming isn't all about doing crazy fills all over the place.
@mrtaatjen I think that Chris Slade is a better TECHNICAL drummer than Rudd, but we know which one belongs behind the kit in this band. Even Angus said that "Slade was the best musician in AC/DC" whih I dont think was a slame on Slade, but more of a fact that being technical isnt always better.

My favourite song of all time. It looks like they jammed most of it haha. It's still perfect, solid at the bottom, riffin' and groovin at the top with a couple of the best frontmen on Earth. "she never made it past the bedroom door, what was she aimin' for!?"
i love it when Phil starts in with the drums, the best AC/DC line-up ever and they should leave it that way... Malcolm's powerful iron-rough-hard-sounding guitar, Angus' powerful riffs and godlike blues style together with long-time member Cliff's bass perfectly fitting, Phil's bluesy hard drum rhythm and Brian's bluesy rough voice... simple but awesome for me the greatest band in the world...
@johnnycoolguy9554 depends on the amp i have, i have a small marshal amp but its pretty powerful and i get Angus's tone quality, just lower the bass and middle to around 4-6 and keep the treble at like 5-7 and raise the distortion on the amp/pedal and for the into use the rhythm pick up and for the whole rest of the song, the treble one, hope that helps thanks to solodallas's vid on Angus's sound... enjoy and gl with future playing
I love this song. I love AC/DC but my dad can't stand the over agressiveness of it but he likes bands like the rolling stones, the who and the beatles. But he actually likes this song.
7 of the 8 children of the young family (obviously including malcolm and angus) immigrated to Australia, They're Scottish. But technically you can call them aussies, because that is their home pretty much.
@wolfatnight i agree. Jailbreak from donnington kinda sucked for me being almost 20 min and Brian was mumbling and his voice was all...........what should i say......eroded away. So yeah i think that this is probably one of the only songs that Brian and Bon sounds great.
there not british .. there aussies and aussies dont neccesarily speak like that .. they say MATE .. but they probably did think that but not in that way

I want Angus' guitar tone!!!! Holy shit does it sound fucking awesome.
johnnycoolguy9554 1 year ago

RoyKidman3 1 year ago
This version has nothing on the original, this song is one that only Bon should sing i Guess

IN my opinion Brian is a better singer Bon had a better voice enouph said
lem1968a1 1 year ago
that's true, if you realize Bon was first a driver, and after he heared AC/DC were looking for a new singer, he just joined =]

This is probably Brian Johnson's best interpretation of one of Bon Scott's songs. Great Stuff.

7 of the 8 children of the young family (obviously including malcolm and angus) immigrated to Australia, They're Scottish. But technically you can call them aussies, because that is their home pretty much.

Se que no es una cancioon de Brian Johnson sino de Bon Scott. Pero se nota que la tocan con todo respeto a la leyenda de Scott.

some of Bon's songs Brian doesnt sound so great...... an extremely difficult set of shoes to fill... but he sounds fucking great here...
wolfatnight 1 year ago 4
@wolfatnight i agree. Jailbreak from donnington kinda sucked for me being almost 20 min and Brian was mumbling and his voice was all...........what should i say......eroded away. So yeah i think that this is probably one of the only songs that Brian and Bon sounds great.
